This is my third tool and not last. I started with the 2767 impact wrench and after seeing what that can do I purchased a blower and this trimmer. It has proven to be a great purchase. What a pleasure to go around the yard without an extension cord limiting your movement and no worries around my pool area trimming. This trims better than the electric trimmer I have and also cuts the smaller branches that need trimming. Great balance with battery in it and made very durable. Highly recommend this product.

Heavy duty, but corrosion prone

This is a full-size, heavy duty hedge trimmer. It was purchased to replace my temperamental gas powered trimmer and is similar in size, weight, and capability. Already had M18 tools and battery so sticking with this line. It readily trimmed by hollies on its first run. The plants were wet, and the next morning there was substantial rust/corrosion on the blades so I would recommend drying the blades and spraying with a lube after each use and prior to storage. Corrosion is reason for one star deduction.

Better than expected.

I replaced a smaller electric trimmer with this model hoping to trim the yard with a couple of batteries. I trimmed the entire property in a shorter amount of time and using one battery with enough power to probably cut the yard again. No cords to worry about cutting, weaving between bushes and burying in limb slash.
This tool performed better than expected. Plenty of power to cut limbs it was built to cut. A little heavier than the electric, but is to be expected as this tool is larger the electric.

We replaced and older corded Black & Decker. It is great to cut the cord. And we literally have cut through many extension cords over the years. We just kept replacing the ends if the cord. No more! This trimmer is so much fun I’m looking for more to do. Super quick charger (it’s going in the shop for my other M18 tools). Nice features like the guard in front of the blade, and the quick stop when you release the trigger.
Once you see this in person you won’t consider others. It’s that good.

This hedge trimmer does a great job cutting through the bushes. The power and sharpness of the blades out of the box have no problems cutting through limbs up to a half inch diameter, and the battery lasts a super long time with this attachment. My only complaint is that its minimum length is too long for normal bushes. The cutting head is robust, which means it's durable but also heavy. When you put the at the end of a 5 foot long shaft, it shortens the time you can use before becoming fatigued.

I have used the hedge trimmer 3 times now and am amazed at its power as well as battery life. I still haven't had to recharge the battery as I run out of power before it does. It cuts pieces with ease that are so large in diameter that I didn't think it would even cut it at all. The only slight negative I see is that it is a little on the heavy side after you use it for a long period.
Great trimmer. If you have a lot of hedge to trim go get yourself one of these. You will not be disappointed.

The Milwaukee Fuel Hedge Trimmer has taken a project I dreaded and made it actually somewhere between tolerable and enjoyable. The tool is fairly easy to manage and well-balanced. I used it with a 5Ah XC battery and was able to trim everything in my yard, with charge to spare. I was surprised by how quiet it is...quieter than my 25 year-old corded Craftsman and much quieter than the gas powered trimmer I was thinking about buying. This trimmer is a high quality tool from a high quality company.

Bought this to trim my out of control shrubs and it worked fantastic! Then took it down to my girlfriends to trim some of her stuff that had been growing unchecked for over 10 years. I was able to work for over 5 hours trimming the whole yard and only burned the charge on ONE hi capacity hi amperage battery! This is an amazing trimming machine! It easily cut thru branches up to 3/4 inch thick I just had to attack them from one side and then the other. I very highly recommend this product!

I bought this instead of a gas hedge trimmer strictly on price, I bought the M18 because the line is known for powe and battery effiency, it's also what I use for everthing else so I already have the batteries and chargers. Using it is qite easy and pretty much what fits in the teeth it cuts, With a 5ah battery I used it for about 2hrs of intermittent cutting and the battery had 2 bars left. Only con I would say is how heavy it is but if you want power and durability that's the trade off.

I was impressed by the ease of operation this tool offers and happy with not having an electrical cord to accidentally cut in half. I have the Milwaukee weed eater which I've been very pleased with as well. The hedge trimmer is a great addition to my lawncare tools. Being able to pop a battery in and go, and not having to worry about mixing gas and oil is a good time saver...and not smelling like exhaust fumes from a gas powered tool is great too.
I would easily recommend this tool.

Missing two handle screws upon arrival, others loo

Trims hedges and shrubs like butter so that's great. It had a couple handle screws missing upon arrival and was told to either return the entire unit for replacement or purchase screws from a hardware store. I would've rather had the screws sent from Milwaukee because the screws I bought are a different head, color and we're a little longer. I didn't want to risk returning the trimmer because after being told how it is right now with Covid-19 and the difficulty with Milwaukee probably being able to send two replacement screws that I may never see another replacement tool either, so I am very dissapointed in that regard. I was going to cut the screws I bought to length but since the heads were slightly bigger, they didn't go all the way in anyway but it works fine. Not satisfied with how it played out.

That it is a safe and easy to handle and manipulate “pruning and shaping” garden tool. The battery provides more than enough time for trimming a significantly large area and the fast charger is impressive in its ability to fully recharge the battery for further usage. This trimmer is capable of trimming a significantly thicker branch than other trimmers are capable of doing. The tool is relatively quiet and has a sturdy protective sheath to safely store the tool for adult use only.

I have over 100' of cedars around my property and thought I'd chew thru 6 batteries but it trimmed at least 50' on one side with half a battery. About 2 full batteries to do most all of it. The tool itself is super sharp and cuts extremely fast. Way faster than my 10yo corded and my 3yo gas trimmer. It doesnt , however, cut a 3/4" thick branch as it sugested but my gas unit wont either so all in all its a terrific tool. I have several Milwaukee tools and theyre all great so far.

I recently purchased an M18 Hedge trimmer to complete my landscape tool selection. It’s got plenty of power to get through thicker branches. It’s light enough so it does not fatigue your arms like some of the other brands and gas models I’ve tried. Battery life is substantial enough, even with the 5ah battery, to get a good amount of trimming completed. Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase and would recommend to anyone looking for a great value on a robust product.

This product has made trimming hedges and trees a breeze. When I first tried the product I was trimming miscellaneous hedges and oak, maple, and pine trees. After about two hours of trimming "besides walking to the next tree" I only used half of my 5.0 amp's battery. This tool had plenty of power and didnt even hesitate when I was working. The other benefit of this product is that I no longer need to worry about replacing gas lines, gas filters, and even trying to do cold starts on my gas powered trimmer. I came to the conclusion I will be getting rid of my gas powered trimmer as I no longer have a need for it.
The only thing I think could be improved is to have a 1" opening for cutting branches instead of just the 3/4, but either way it out performs my gas hedge trimmer and I would reccomend this product.

Milwaukee has effectively made my extension cords useless! No more cutting my power cords in half while trimming. No more taking time to set up and extent the power cords before I trim! I can literally JUST START TRIMMING! A ton of power! A 5ah battery lasts forever. Sharper then my ex wife's tongue! You just can't go wrong with this thing, it's great! The only reason for 4/5 stars is the weight. Mind you, it's not bad. It's just heavier then my old corded HedgeHog trimmer.

I have an entire armada of Milwaukee tools for wood working and had been thinking of trying the yard work line. The Fuel Hedge Trimmer was my first Milwaukee yard work machine but will not be my last. I was originally concerned about how long it would run on battery. Two of us went head to head gas vs battery and unbeleivably the battery lasted longer than the Stihl. The big bonus was way less noise as well allowing me to work earlier at client homes not disturbing them.

Having aging parents they can not keep up on their property as they once did. I was asked to go and trim quite a few bushes and shrubs that had not been done for many years. The Milwaukee battery hedge trimmer cut through thick and heavy growth like it wasn't even there. I trimmed eight bushes and shrubs in just a few hours. I have a 9 AH battery to power it and it didn't even lose a bar on the battery. I can't wait to go back next year because it made cutting so easy.

My old gas hedge trimmers were giving up the ghost, I looked at some other brands of gassers, but found these at a lower price and figured I already have several M-18 batteries. They worked perfectly right out of the box, I couldn't be happier with them, a regular XC-5.0 battery still had a charge, even after more than an hour of use. If you're in the Milwaukee ecoverse, buy one, you'll love it. If you're not a Milwaukee person, maybe it's time to jump ship.

I'm a Milwaukee tool junkie so I had to have this for around the yard. It works great when I can get my hands on it. You see my son figured out that it would work great in the field and swamps for brushing in his duck blinds, there for it is rarely in my shed. Those trimmers have been on hunting trips from Canada to North Dakota to Arkansas and back to Michigan. Safe quiet and cuts his time in under half. They look a little beat up but still cut great!

I replaced some older electric hedge trimmers that were dull and always had me tugging on the cord or having to make sure I didn’t cut it while trying to shape the bushes at weird angles, etc. Once I started using these Milwaukee hedge trimmers I was immediately impressed. Not only are they easy to control, but they have a lot of power and can cut through small branches with ease. Another bonus is that they don’t really drain the battery that fast.

I used to have an old black and decker corded trimmer, which mostly worked. Obviously the Milwaukee M18 trimmer is a little more spendy, but I have been impressed so far. I got over two hours of solid use out of a 6ah battery, and it was great not having to worry about a cord or listening to a small gas engine. It made short work of everything I threw at it, short of chopping down larger limbs and trunks. But that's what other tools are for.

I've been using this thing off and on for about 6 months now and I have to say I love it. It cuts through everything I throw at it, even stuff that is slightly bigger than the specs say it should cut. I personally like it better then the newer quick-lock unit because of the way the handle is setup. Also, the battery life is great on it. I've used it with a 9.0 battery all over my 1/4 acre property and never even worn it down to 1/2 power.

Needed a new trimmer after my other trimmer died , I wanted a smaller trimmer but milwaukee dosent make one so I purchased the full size one and was not disappointed, it was alittle on the heavy side but I also had the 9.0 battery on it .
Its very convenient just pop in the battery and off you go ! The sound level is very low and there's no messy gas/oil mixtures to worrie about and carburetors clogging up just squeeze the trigger and go !

Trimmed a lot of overgrown bushes and it handled the 1/4 to 1/2 inch branches easily. The larger 3/4 very well too. I was using my 5 amp battery and it lasted longer than I could. - 90 degree temperature. It is well made and high quality. The only negative is it is a little heavy, but not by much than the other brands. I did learn to use its weight so I would get less fatigued by coming down more often. Still, I'm very pleased with it.

I bought this to use around the house thinking I would have to charge the batteries after a few shrubs… Wrong! This think has power for days! It’s so nice not having gas exhaust blown in your face and the Milwaukee being so quiet! What went from a chore of hedge trimming is now Enjoyable! It easily cut threw thicker branches with ease! If your worried about power and length of run time, don’t be! I’m going to purchase the chainsaw next!

The hedge trimmer works as expected. Chose the Milwaukee over some of the smaller trimmers so I wouldn't have to make multiple passes. Only drawback seems to be that it is a little big and bulky when it comes to shaping more delicate and smaller shrubs. Smaller sized trimmer is more ideal for these applications. It has no problem handling the larger shrubs where reach could otherwise be a problem. Happy with the purchase overall.

I bought this trimmer to use on the landscaping at our new house. We have many established shrubs and hedges, and the Mikwaukee trimmer with my 8.0AH battery has powered through everything I have thrown at it. I really like how quiet it is, and appreciate not having to smell two-stroke exhaust anymore. I am hoping to purchase the Milwaukee Chainsaw in the near future and have high hope that it will be an equally good fit for my needs.

I use this tool to trim up light bushes and cut heavy hedge limbs around the house and it does this job very nicely. One battery lasts long enough to trim the entire property and then transfer the same battery over to the blower to blow off the deck and walk way to finish the job. After a while the hedge trimmer can get a little heavy but hey this tool has to have some solid parts in it to perform this well for that amount of time.

First off I’m very happy with this product and would recommend to any homeowner. With that said I am not as happy with this as I am with the leaf blower. It sucks battery so having a larger at least 6.0 is almost a must. Also, it’s heavy. I bought it online so couldn’t feel it but for being a battery, it still reminds me of the weight of a small gasser; too heavy for the wife. But it certainly works great on shrubs and small trees!
