I loved this gun... for a minute

I’m a Milwaukee tool guy and have had no problem with any of my other tools and I use them every day as a carpenter. This gun was sweet for about 2 months then trouble began, first it started self adjusting the bit tip the started to wobble and kick screws to one sid or the other. The entire cone is loose and it couldn’t set two screws the same let alone using it for a couple hours. I finally got so mad at it as I’m watching my coworkers makita hit every time that I no longer use it and went back to my corded hilti.

No, I do not recommend this product.

M18 screw gun

This product works really well for most of the time. It struggles somewhat with setting a screw that didn’t quite make it at first, so you may need to have an impact nearby. The other issue is that the nose-cone is not self-indexed. It is indexed to the body of the gun, so if you pull the nose off to pull a screw etc, you lose your setting. With all that said, it is lightweight, especially with small batteries, and has a good long runtime. The clip also has a bad habit of working lose, even with loctite on it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Loose depth adjustment

I wish I could say that this is a great tool however, that’s not the case, there are things that are good about it such as the weight, the power, but the tip that adjust the depth of the screw is too loose if you hang it on a toolbelt or clip it on your waist and anything rubs on it it throws it out of adjustment I must’ve ran 100 screws too far into the drywall job. I was doing that I bought this gun specifically for it was a dealbreaker. I returned it! sorry to say Milwaukee if you read these and pay attention you need to make that front portion of the gun that sets the depth a little bit tighter , I also noticed online there are several used ones missing that piece. I’m thinking because after time it gets so loose it falls off and gets lost 😞 die hard Milwaukee fan here though.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Love the auto feature!

I’ll never go back to my old corded screw gun. This thing is awesome! Absolutely love the auto feature. Saves myself and everyone else from hearing that motor whirring all day, and extends the life of the tool! Why is this not standard on all guns?? The gun is light but feels sturdy, and pairs well with a smaller battery; I prefer the 3.0 high output. Even with a smaller battery i can still get quite a bit of work done on a single charge. I’m going to say that is also due to the auto feature. Why have a tool using up battery when you’re not even using it? Overall I’m super impressed with this thing. I only do the occasional drywall job, but this thing was definitely worth the money. My buddy is a drywaller by trade and picked one up the next day after using mine, so i think that says something!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Worth the investment

Time is money, for years I've been saying I'll stop doing drywall because I despise it, so I purchased the Milwaukee drywall gun as my first Milwaukee purchase and added the collated attachment. Absolute game changer - it's more money for the collated screws, but time is money and I hate the time drywall takes. It takes 100-200 screws to really dial in the settings, depth, how to properly use the tool, setup, etc, but once you're dialed in, the speed and efficiency is making you money.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great time saver

DISCLAIMER: I've only used this on one job.simce purchasing, but it has been a massive time saver on this job. It is a very ergonomic tool with plenty of power for sinking screws. I haven't had to use a drywall screw larger than 6# 1 5/8" yet, but it has cut my hang time by probably 50%. The auto start feature is great and the depth adjustment is easy to dial in. It makes fastening easy especially when in tight corners. Plus, it weighs probably half that of the M18 drill I used to use.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Limited Success

Instead of buying a drywall dimpler bit to complete a small drywall replacement job, I added the M18 Fuel Drywall Screw Gun to my arsenal of Milwaukee cordless tools thinking it would make my life easier. I'm not sure it was worth the investment given I didn't find it was any easier or better to use for my small drywall project. I struggled to get the depth setting optimally set. It didn't always manage to properly drill and set the 1 and 5/8" drywall screws I was using with 1/2" drywall - some went too deep, a few went way too deep, and some didn't even get close to flush. I will have to clean up the issues I experienced during the mudding, taping and sanding stage of my drywall replacement project. Maybe I shouldn't have started with a ceiling project, but that was the drywall job that needed to be done.

No, I do not recommend this product.

BEST DRYWALL GUN EVER!!!

Recently purchased to hang approximately 185 sheets of drywall. 1/2" and 5/8" for a residential home. Guns auto start is great, you don't hear the constant whine of a drywall gun. I use mostly 5amp Hour batteries and the battery life is great. Easy to change tips, adjust depth of screw the same as any other drywall gun. It is light and comfortable to use. Performs great! Very glad I bought this. Biggest takeaway is no constant screaming of the gun, and no cord to trip over.

Yes, I recommend this product.
