Great tool
I do a lot of cutting and welding. This unit has about taken over my need for a cutting torch. It is sometimes faster and definitely a cleaner cut. I also so like the no spark cutting, as with a torch. This minimizes fires. Being cordless is great not having cords to drag around, that get hung up, and tripping over. But, I have one issue I would like Milwaukee to assess. The safety switch is so far away from my trigger hand, I need to let go of my material to press the safety switch in to run the unit. Other Milwaukee saws have an easier to reach safety switch. The designer needs to run the circular saw and then the bandsaw.

Excellence Again From Milwaukee
Purchase the compact band saw for general fabrication work. Saw is excellent in every way. Only down side is the limited capacity. I liked this one so much I bought the deep cut as well. Well balanced, well thought out tool. It is a little power hungry and the kit I bought came with 2) 3mah batteries. These lack the capacity to be very handy. If you are just making a few small cuts would probably be fine. I prefer to use the 5-6mah batteries to get decent run time per battery. Will definitely buy another when this one bites the dust.

Game Changer!

Iam a plumber and have been cutting my steel pipe for gas lines with a sawzall . Picked this band saw up and it changes everything about cutting steel pipe. This tool is compact and light and it walks through 1/2 , 3/4 and 1 inch steel pipe like butter. Guys if you are still using a sawzall to cut your steel pipe , its time for a change this is effortless. Cuts 3/8 redi rod nice and clean as well with no need to clean up after to
thread on nut. Probably one of the best purchases I've made in a very long time, except for the cordless threader.

How did I previously do my job without this?
I am a service plumber and do occasional roughs, finishes and undergounds. I had previously used both the Fuel Sawzall or Hackzall for my cutting, but absolutely love the band saw. I was literally shocked how quickly this cuts through galvanized. Doing demo has now become a fun thing to do. Cutting threaded rod is a breeze.
The tool itself is well balanced. It is rather light weight for the power it has. The battery placement gives it a nice ergonomic balance, even when vertical or overhead.
I cannot think of a better way to design the saw. Of course it will have its limitations for cut size capability, but it is more than enough for my needs.
The bottom line is pretty obvious: I wish I had added this bandsaw to my arsenal LONG ago, but it has become a favorite of mine since the first cut.

Excellent portable band saw
Excellent weight and balance. Cuts easily and precisely with minimal effort. This is such a better tool than the M12 sub-compact or the M18 deep cut. The former suffers from poor battery performance and obviously struggles with deep strut. The latter is perfect for large pipe and double deep strut, but is far too heavy for routine work. This is the perfect balance between ergonomics and performance.

Highly recomment it!

I've used this saw mainly for cutting emt, strut, and sch 40 rigid pipe. I used the metal cutting circular saw for years, but this is a great alternative! One great advantage is no sparks! The blades are long lasting and you get a lot of run time on a single battery. The way the saw is made, it's very easy to get straight cuts using one hand. I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone.

Just right
Great size not too heavy it’s just right, very fast cutting speed and the light illuminates just enough to see the measurement mark. The material stop slider does get bunked up and hard to engage when used a lot but it’s a minor inconvenience. The grip and thickness of the handle is just right not too thick and easy to make those awkward cuts with one hand just takes a little muscle.

Great capacity!
This saw is large enough to cut about anything you need to. With a 3 ¼ inch capacity of actual space to cut, if you need more than that, you should probably use a metal chop saw. I first purchased the 1 ¼ inch model and quickly found it limited to small pipe and rebar cutting, so it is not used nearly as much as I thought. This model really is much more versatile.
