Great battery for constant use
I’m a pipe fitter/sprinkler fitter and use this battery with a number of my Milwaukee tools. I consistently cut 1/2 all-thread rod with my deep cut bandsaw and then switch the battery with my 1/2” high-torque impact that I use on 6” couplings with 1-16 nuts any other battery I’d have to switch halfway through the day but with this battery I go all day and at worst lose one bar. Basically need this and one other 8.0 battery for a full work week. If you bought the 2pack of these highoutput 8.0s and just had a 5.0 to have when using 2 tools and can almost guarantee that would be all the batteries you need for your job.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I’m having the same problems… I have 3 batteries- all M18 that do not fully charge. 2 of them will only have 3 of the 4 charge indicator lights when “full”. If placed back on the charger, the docking station light is green and will not charge to full. The run time is so short that I use my XC5.0 (they fortunately still work perfectly) in place of the XC12.0!! Not good. One of the batteries is only charging to 2 of the 4 indicator lights. One of the batteries is the XC8.0, 2 are the XC12.0 these batteries are relatively new and were very expensive. I am a residential home owner that does light work periodically, no reason the batteries are shot. I’m disappointed with Milwaukee on this one.

I use this battery for many projects, contracting, maintenance and home… Always a Milwaukee supporter and just getting in to the battery tools, maybe own 10 battery tools all in, including a chain saw, VAC 2.5 gal (needs stronger motor) and leaf blower. My concern is the amount of complaints regarding the 8.0 and 12.0 batteries without Milwaukee stepping up and doing a recall (yes the R word), or at the very least a corporate statement regarding your solution strategy. I have been in corporate America (GE), in sales and marketing for 30 plus years and sooner or later folks will walk away unless you act. “Currently rethinking my Milwaukee battery choice”. Still have many corded Milwaukee products that work perfectly.

Don’t spend money on 8.0 ah won’t last or hold up.
Battery worked fine for the first six months, then would only charge 3/4 lights but seemed to work fine died a little faster than original. 1 year later dies and won’t charge at all with red/green light flashing constantly. Don’t waste money on 8.0 ah battery it fails to quickly. I have based packs, 3.0 ah and 5.0 ah with no issues over 5 years old, but the 8.0 ah is junk for some reason. First Milwaukee tool I have experienced this with this failure. The original 18v battery packs NiCad still work for me on old tools does not make since on this battery.

Extremely disappointing
I purchased this battery with a leaf blower 2 years ago. It worked great for the first year. The last few months it hasn't been taking a full charge. I've tried 3 different chargers, and the same result. It will charge to 2 or 3 bars, and the charger will show fully charged, but it will only last about half the run time. I only use it about 15 times a year, for maybe 30 minutes at a time. 25-30 charge cycles (even if it was 50) is unacceptable for a battery advertised as being of this caliber. Certainly disappointing from a tool brand that's usually top-tier.

Another gran slam by Milwaukee

This is one of those battery sizes you will be glad you bought due to size and most of all the consistent power it delivers. I use this for my 2730 6 1/2" saw and it's a match made in heaven. Gives the saw good balance, and a noticeable power boost over the standard batteries. It charges with the standard charger just fine, but the rapid charger is the best choice if you have one. So far i have cut 12 sheets of 5/8" ply in half, and split a dozen 2x8's and the battery still shows 4 bars. That's just amazing.
Weighs about 12 ounces more than the XC 5.0 so it's great to use on anything really. I also tried it on my 2732 Cir saw and there is very little difference in the saws performance vs using the 12.0.
Great job Milwaukee.......thx

Garbage
As a contractor and Milwaukee tool consumer I heavily invested in the M18 line. Grinder, impact driver, hammer drill, table saw, circular saw, flashlight, saw all, nail gun, router, jig saw..... and several 8.0 and 3.0 batteries. Unfortunately, these batteries are useless. After several weeks of use all 4 of the 8.0 batteries will not fully charge after a few uses (3 bars) and the 3.0 run out of power way too fast. I even purchased a new charger thinking that was the issue.
.. the new M18 line of batteries are a big waste of time and money.

Battery Bad Out of Box
I would write I review about the capacity of the battery or it's efficiency but when I took it out of the box and attempted to charge it it gave me nothing but red and green flashing lights and it just won't charge at all. It is a disappointment to open up a brand new 10" cordless miter saw and then find out that you can't do any work that day because the battery is bad. I should have gone with a corded saw because now I'm going to have to deal with the trouble of getting a replacement for this battery via warranty and from all the comments I read it apparently takes a while to get one. Either that or I waste money on the cost of an extra battery, which I would never use other then because of something like this happening. Very disappointed.
