Great light with serious flaw
Purchased light a year ago. Used in a construction environment during this time period. It was extremely handy with its powerful magnets and swivel light. The handle on it is useless - flaw one. If you spin the light in one direction all the time, you will twist the wires feeding the led's. This causes the wires to eventually rip off of the led's, causing them to short out and destroy the circuit board-serious flaw two. Buyer be aware. Otherwise great useful light.

Good, but has a serious flaw!
Its a good, bright light, BUT, it seems like nobody at Milwaukee knew about the new high output M18 batteries, because even the 3.0 will not allow you to use the magnetic base due to the high output batteries being ever so slightly longer. This leaves a bad taste because now if I want to use this simple light the way its meant to be used, I have to order OLD battery tech! So much for the pledge that all batteries and tools would be compatible.

I would buy it again if it broke... IF it did
3 years ago
I have had this little guy for well over two years and love it. It has dropped off scissor lifts and scaffolding... still works. The magnet and grip mount make it extremely versatile. The light level selection is really nice having the option of really bright (but drains the battery fast) or two other lower settings which extend the battery life. If this light ever broke I wouldn't hesitate to buy another... but it just won't quit.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Design Flaw
The design of this light is seriously flawed. The battery (I'm using a 3.0 ah) sticks out which makes the clamp useless. The handle is also compromised by the battery and I'm using one of the smaller batteries. The light doesn't even sit on a flat surface correctly. I don't understand how this got by the engineers. I would not recommend and I would not buy this one again. I am a huge Milwaukee fan, but this falls way short.

It’s just ok, whoever designed it didn’t use it
2 years ago
Whoever designed this light didn’t use it for 5 seconds. That’s all the time you need to realize it was a poor design. The handle and clamp are useless with a battery in it. Maybe the boardroom should have put a battery in it before approving this light. Last I check it won’t work without a battery. I can’t say enough to explain how bad of a design it is. Seriously hold one for 5 seconds with a battery in it. Big fail here.

Great flood light
I use this for work and have found plenty of uses at home too. Its a great flood light. The only flaw is that the one I bought does not last the 4 hours on high mode with the 5.0 batteries I have. Both the light and the batteries are new. On low mode, I have yet to drain a battery, even the 3.0 batteries. I would definitely recommend but warn everyone to have realistic expectations.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This light performs just as i wanted it to. For work its versatility and compact size make it perfect for most of my jobs. I can attach it to the top of a ladder. It can be used in small crawl spaces. The magnet on it is incredibly strong! Its also a great addition to emergency situations. Whether thats home or on the road.

Poor designed box light
Box light that is very bright. Does provide good flood light. Light to big to use in tight quarters. Unfortunately this is not a user friendly light. Difficult to carry in one hand, no handle provided. Clamp works with smaller capacity battery. On/off switch located in strange location, having to fumble to find it.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Awesome features!!
This rover light by Milwaukee is a great light to have on the job site and has some really features. They designed this light to be very versatile to meet different needs on the job site. The light head fold and rotates giving you good control of the direction the light is pointing and also features two magnets that allow you to mount the light on metal surfaces and a 2” spring loaded clamp that allows you to mount the light on non metallic surfaces. The light produces 1500 lumens and you can get up to 20 hours off runtime depending on what size battery you use.
This light is great because it’s so compact and light weight at only 3.24 pounds. I run mine on a 5.0 battery and I get enough runtime for it ti last all day for me. I like to use mine on smaller jobs, like work under a sink or in attic crawl spaces. The spring loaded clamp is located on the bottom of the light and really allows you to mount the light anywhere. Great features and great little work light!!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Really Good but not Great
This is my go to light when I'm working in IT or AV equipment racks. The magnets on this are super strong that hold tight even when I'm using a larger sized battery.
There's tons of light and it's plenty bright.
Where it falls short is a couple design flaws. The handle isn't much of a handle when there's a mid size to large battery in there.
Second, the clamp feature of the light (which I love) is compromised when using a mid to large battery. Since the battery sticks out it shortens the opening of the clamp and sometimes I can't use it.
Lastly, where the magnet side is in relation to the pivot and swivel of the light. If you're flat up against a surface with the magnet side holding on, it restricts the movability of the light.
Since I mostly use this on steel equipment racks like I have shown in the pictures I don't run into these issues everyday but it certainly has come up. I guess it's really just finding the right light for the tasks you're working on.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Good light but 1 flaw.
This is a good work light except for 1 problem. When you have the light hanging from the magnets you are limited on the adjustment of the light. You can not move it in all directions. If the pivot point were on the other side you would have the ability to move it in all directions.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Absolutely amazing, great light output and the flexibility is incredible, no matter where your set up this thing can find a place to mount and give excellent lighting. My only complaint is the drain on full power but that can be expected due to the age of my batteries.

Portable and Bright.

The M18 ROVER Flood Light is my first choice when I need lots of light fast. It is portable and has a variety of mounting options. It will clamp on to something and the magnetic base is handy as well. Additionally the LEDs swivel to direct light just where you need it.

This light works well. The light itself is bright enough, but the magnets work better than you’d think. I work in wind and have to put the light in some pretty rough positions and it held up great. Small and compact enough to toss in a daily tower bag.

Good light bad magnets

The light is great. Good quality and functionality. However the magnets are worthless they won’t hold the light with battery’s weight. Put better magnets in them
And I’d give it a solid 5
