M18 18 V Lithium-Ion Cordless HACKZALL One-Handed Reciprocating Saw - Tool Only

I work in a residential apartment complex with over 450 units. I purchased a combo mostly for the hackzall itself. The kit came with a hammer drill impact drill hackzall flashlight three batteries and a charger. I have had the set for over 3 years and wouldn’t think of purchasing any other brand. The m18 hackzall has all the power you need and more. I have used it to cut flooring casings wood and metal studs copper brass cast iron steel and this saw gets the job done every time. It has been dropped covered in dust dirt and has gotten wet all while delivering the same amount of power as the day I got it.

This hackzall saved me so much time and effort. I had numerous tree branches that I had to cut back so that we could mow more easily around the trees. It was a breeze to do over 20 trees in my yard, one hand to hold the branch and the other to work the tool. I also use it to break down medium sized logs to fit into our smaller fire pit. I used to have pull put the M18 chainsaw, now its much easier to just whip out the hackzall. Great product. I would recommend this for anyone out there looking to buy a nice pruning tool.

Got this saw as a gift and has been a welcome addition to my kit. Good balance for one-handed operation. More compact design gives you more flexibility to get in tighter areas than a traditional sawzall. Easy blade changes and orientation. Love the grab area by the chuck, great stability when doing two-handed cutting. The 18V Hackzall is MUCH better than the 12V. No end to the power. Have cut everything from EMT to tree branches. Haven't encountered a situation where I would go back to my yellow tool.

I’m a professional plumber. Just know I “use” this tool, I say that because it goes in most places that most people wouldn’t even go. It has been a great tool so far had it less than a year but I took it to a supply house today to have it sent in because it only works some if you hit the blade with your hand to give it a jump start. I believe the brushless version might be better. Just a side note as a plumber I have only used cheap tools until last year when I bought all Milwaukee tools because they have quality tools. I do have the brushless grinder and it works way better than the other tools I have that are not brushless. I will still buy more tools and I hope to have my entire truck stocked with more of the Milwaukee products. I love the packout it’s been great and keeps me organized.

I use this saw as a professional plumber. Without a doubt it's the one tool that has got me out of more jams than any other. It can reach in places where a regular sawzall can't. It cuts much quicker than cutting by hand. I've used it to cut galvanized pipe up to 2 inches out of a wall. I've even cut cast-iron piping a few times with it. It eats the batteries up when working it hard, but it's worth it. Just using it to cut PVC pipe and wood for a rough-in it lasts all day and then some. My biggest problem so far is the trigger has died on two separate saws now. It was taken car of under the warranty, but it's still inconvenient to have to take it in and get fixed. Luckily we have a back-up one now. But considering the heavy use we give this thing, I'll keep it as long as you keep fixing it. I love it!

It is a great little tool that works extremely well. It should be a 5 star rating but there was a bit more vibration than I would expect and the M18 battery makes it a bit heavy. However, I am all in with M18 and knew what I getting into. I love the M18 family/system of tools and they all swap and work well together. I have a lot more work to do with this Hackzaw as it’s lighter than the M18 Sawzall we also have. Overall an excellent tool.

I wasnt truly sold on the idea of a small handheld sawall, I just couldnt see a reason to have one. I find now I was wrong and use it more frequently then the full length version. Its compact size and weight allows me to get in tighter spaces that would prohibit full size from even attempting to cut. I would recommend this to anyone that does work inside homes as it makes less mess and speeds up the process

Pros: Handy saw. Like the one handed use. Beats doing it by hand. Light. Good for overhead use. Vibration isn't bad. Blade changes are easy. Good price. Cons: Wish the shoe had the tilting surface. Maybe a little more saw blade movement. More small saw blades in the carbide flavour would be good too. Also would be nice to see some official training/safety vids from Milwaukee on this one.
