Works really well, a little disappointed that the nozzle is not standard size. Had to shop around a little bit to find a few attachments that Milwaukee don't sell. Otherwise one of the most conveniently sized and simple tools I have ever had. Perfect for little jobs like changing a PowerPoint or a downlight but still capable of cleaning up a decent mess. With the brush attachment I sourced also finding it very handy for keeping the car clean.

Unusable Vacuum

Just like everyone else says, the vacuum only runs for about 30 seconds, making it the most frustrating, useless vacuum possible. Try to vacuum a small mess...get a little sucked up. Wait 30 seconds clicking the trigger until it turns on again, and before you can get started vacuuming its off again. Fresh filter, fresh battery, same story. I think it would be less frustrating if it never turned on and you could just accept its broken!

Great vacuum but shuts off on its own

This is a great little vacuum but like many other reviews mine is only 9 months old and it keeps shutting off after only a couple minutes of use, I have made sure filter is clean and tried different batteries but to no avale. When it shuts off wait ten seconds and I hear a small click sound And it works again for a short period then shuts off again for ten seconds, seems to be some kind of sensor issue. Is there a fix for this??

By far the most expensive vacuum for the garage ever and definitely not worth the money i should have bought a DYSON … yes this vacuum shut off all the time even with a full new battery is a pain it takes longer to just go grab the old vacuum and plug it clean by the time this Milwaukee vacuum comes back alive for few second usually 50 second shut off for few minutes 3 times then it doesn’t work again so frustrating.

Disposable Vacuum-Not Milwaukee worthy

I use all Milwaukee Tools and being a fan of the M18 series. I expected a lot more out of this vacuum for the price point and for the Milwaukee brand. During use the vacuum shuts off after 20-30 seconds of use. After waiting 20-30 seconds it starts back up but then shuts off again. Not the battery, its the device. I enjoy the M18 tools but this vac has left me pretty disappointed it's not up to Milwaukee standards.

very disappointed in product

My spouse was right, milwaukee is definitely going downhill in quality. Having the exact same issues as others have described. Vacuum works for a few minutes then shuts off, you wait 30 seconds to 1 minute and try to vacuum again and it starts back up again. Its a continuing cycle of this. Very frustrating. I will switch over to Ryobi for other purchases in the future, they seem to be improving their quality.

Great vacuum but after 1 year cuts out

I've had this vacuum for just over a year. About 3 months ago it began shutting off after 1 min of use. It's duties were cleaning up pet hair and dry food spills in the kitchen. I've tried 4 different batteries, so I think it's the tool. I'm sending it in for 'warranty'. Hopefully it's some sort of thermal switch or simple fix. I do love the vacuum, but lately it has lost reliability and gained annoyance.

Another limited use item

Handy for extremely small cleanup projects , or for cleaning your car, etc. The filter is almost the size of the canister, so it doesn't hold any amount of debris to speak of, but the filter is super efficient, so cleans of super fine particulate like drywall dust and concrete dusty fairly well without plugging. Also the latch to release the canister is virtually impossible to use with normal sized hands.

Great, except it turns off so much

We really love this handheld vacuum!! It is great to get quick cleanups and for the car also but almost every 30 or so seconds, it shuts off, you wait about 30 seconds and then it starts up again. We thought maybe it was our filter or battery, but after changing them both multiple times it continues. Maybe it is just a glitch with our model? We'd love it more if it worked for long enough to clean things.

Tool has started to stop randomly

Tool is great for what it’s designed for. Main issue it just turns itself off when you are using it randomly. It can take several goes to restart or can restart again with a cycle of the trigger. This makes it fairly unreliable. I then googled this fault and it seems to be the typical failure mode for this tool. Very disappointed as I have had such a good run out of all my other Milwaukee tooling.

Good suction but poor quality wand and attachments

The suction is good but one of the extension wands cracked where it connects to the vacuum after on week of house cleaning. The rest of the vacuum seems sturdily built, but the wands are definitely too flimsy. I’ll have to find a compatible wand from another brand as a replacement. I have lots of Milwaukee tools and this is the first time that I am disappointed and have anything negative to say.

Find another newer Milwaukee vacuum cleaner

Bought two of these. Very impressive vacuum and suction power. One of them keeps turning off intermittently, its back in the tool shed. Disassembled and found no issues. 1 yr later, the second failed completely. No power to the motor. Cannot recommend these vacuum models. My m18 Milwaukee box vacuum is 3 yrs strong and reliable. My m12 compact is still holding as well.

Short life

I bought this Vacuum 2 years ago, I used it for a summer to vacuum out our camper on the weekends. Went to use it in my truck and it won’t even turn on. I’ve tried multiple batteries and couldn’t get it to turn on at all. It worked well for the short time that it did work. I lost my receipt and I’m a long ways from a repair facility so it’s not worth it for the price of the unit.

Loved this little vac! Ran great for about a year then would run for 20 sec. Then trip a sensor. It would be dead for about a minute then run another 20 seconds. Not overheating due to old filters makes no difference. Did some research and is a very common problem. I say don't buy because of this common issue but it's a shame cuz it's a great little vac. Would deserve 5 stars.

No I would not buy this product again

My husband purchased this vacuum for me and I received it yesterday. I had the intentions of using it in our 5th wheel camper. It keeps shutting off about 10 seconds of use then I have to wait for it to turn back on. I don’t have the patience or the time to keep waiting for it to work. Guess I’ll go purchase something else. We love other Milwaukee products but this one is a dud.

Wish I had read the reviews on here before I purchased. Have quite a few m18 and m12 tools..they all work great except for this. Will not stay running long enough to really vacuum anything up. Have to keep waiting about 30 seconds or so for it to work for about 30 seconds. The handling of the vacuum and other features are great but the shutting off constantly makes it useless.

Keeps shutting off

Bought this vacuum a few years ago. Kept shutting off after a little use. Milwaukee did replace the first one and sent me a new one. This one worked great for quite awhile but now it is doing the same thing. Love using it but it is fustrating when it shuts off and have to sit and wait for it to turn back on. Have lots of Milwaukee tools but this one is not up to their standard.

Intermediate shutting off

I have lots of m12 and m18 tools and this one is by far the worst I have owned. It worked good at first now it shuts off after a couple minutes of being on. Only way to get to work is let it sit or take the battery out for 30 seconds. Then it will run and shut off again. Then when I look up to send it in it says it can’t be sent in to find a service center near you.

Have had this Vacuum for a couple of years and it worked great up until 2 months ago. It started shutting down after about a minute. Filter was pretty dirty so I replaced it but didn't help. All of our other Milwaukee tools have lasted several years and are still performing well so we still believe in your products. Hopefully you can come up with a fix or the vac.

Super handy and convenient!

This is a great vacuum for quick clean ups. It hangs right next to my workbench on a 6 inch pegboard hook. The swivel head floor attachment makes it super easy for for cleaning up sawdust and metal shavings. And there’s an added bonus. I can use the hose attachment to extend the length of my M18 FUEL PACKOUT 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 2.5 Gal. Wet/Dry Vacuum.

Two of them died in 3 weeks

Really disappointed in this product. I've been through 2 of them in 3 weeks and they both just stopped randomly working. I suspect there's an issue with the power button/trigger mechanism. Really wish this wasn't the case as the vacuum works great when it wants to work and I currently have a lot of money invested in this line between tools and batteries.

Purchased this to vacuum the pet hair from a hardwood floor from my German Shepard works well on hard surfaces but is not effective on the patio furniture. In all fairness I have yet to see a vacuum that works well for pet hair on softer surfaces. Only one issue is that the two attachments that make up the wand are too short so I have to bend over to pass the vacuum. To make matters worse my little darling (German Shepard) chewed one of the wands and I can’t find a replacement. Duct tape will do for now until I find a replacement part. I would recommend this unit over the M18 Fuel compact vacuum version as it surprisingly has 40 cfm compared to 32 cfm for the Fuel. I also prefer the compact vacuum over my Dyson. I can switch out the battery when it’s dead and unlike the Dyson I have to stop cleaning and wait for the unit to charge. Now if I can just find a replacement wand! I would recommend this product for hard surface vacuuming.

Just like almost EVERYBODY else in these reviews, the vac will only run for a minute or two, then shuts down. Wait 30 seconds, then it will start back up again only to run for one or two more minutes again. The vacuum works great when it is running, but unusable for doing any real work. OK vac but needs work

Thought this vac would be great to use to clean up when doing very small jobs(Installing door hardware, drilling small holes, etc) but after 2 minutes of use it shuts off and then have to wait a minute for it to shut off again(rinse and replete until clean up is complete). Should have read the reviews seeing this is a common theme with this vac.

Great vacuum... when it works

Got this vacuum and was quite impressed with its versa tans power. However it keeps shutting off. I tried thoroughly cleaning it, but no luck it just shuts off after a couple minutes and won’t turn back on until a few minutes have passed. Very annoying and disappointed. All my cordless tools are Milwaukee, never had any issues...except this one

Mine has been suffering the same issue where it runs fine for a few seconds then stops. The problem is likely in the electronic component within the handle as revealed in a YouTube video. When it works, it’s great. However I’ll need to replace electronic assembly to get it back to 100%. Not exactly the experience I expect from Milwaukee.

Famous for Power issues

Used this vac about a dozen times. Like others I have experienced the same power issue. I know it's not the batteries I've tried several it does it with all of them. It runs for maybe a few solid minutes then cuts out, the wait 30 seconds then runs a bit more. Kinda frustrating and disappointing for not using it as long. There is some sort of electrical issue internally. Also the hose nozzle is not a good size. At the time of purchase they didn't make a brush for this vac. So i tried to use an aftermarket standard brush. The brush fits on the tapered neck of the vaccum or the wand extensions. Just not on the end of the hose were I'd like to have it. Third the extension tubes don't hold tight enough with each other or the floor wand if using it on carpet. I wish they would interlock with one another. I use this to suck up drywall dust from cutting a hole. Would be nice to push it in both directions without separating. And I don't want to tape it.

Shutoff problem

Worked well for a few months. Now will automatically shut off after less than one minute of use (even when battery is fully charged). Very frustrating and not up to the standards of my other Milwaukee tools. If there is a fix, I’d love to know what it is. Because this is otherwise an awesome vacuum that eats dustbusters for breakfast.

Overall, this is a nice mid sized vacuum. My only complaints are that the canister frequently gets clogged which causes some loss in suction, so I find myself unclogging more than I'd care to & the attachments seem to come un attached from the wand pretty regularly. Not my favorite Milwaukee tool, but still a reasonably useful tool.

If only it had a carrying bag for accessories

Bought it for and use it only for truck and car vacuuming. Perfect for cleaning cars at the apartment parking lot as it's a bit of a hassle to try and run an extension cord and I already have M18 batteries. Only thing I could want is a little bag or something to toss the accessories into it and possibly other cleaning stuff too.
