Quirky Hammerdrill Mode

The Hammer mode is right adjacent to the regular drill mode. It is achieved by a "squishy" tightening of the Mode chuck just a bit past the regular drill mode. No noticeable feedback to discern if you tightened it enough. When reverting to normal drill mode, you need to be careful of where you place your finger as you unbind the Mode chuck from the hammer mode. It suddenly releases and it is easy to jam your finger against a sharp edge of plastic just above the trigger. Not very ergonomic at all. I was quite disappointed since I am generally a Milwaukee fan. This tool is going back to the store.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My go to Drill

This is my favorite out of the 3 drills that I own. 2902 this model 2804 Gen 3 fuel 2704 Gen 2 Fuel The Gen 3 fuel is more powerful but I don't like the electronic clutch. Even on the lowest clutch setting it's too powerful and strips the screw heads if you're not careful. The 2902 has better clutch settings for the type of work I do which is anything smaller than 1/4-20 screws. I only bust out the Gen 3 when using hole saws through hollow metal doors for lock installs. Can't comment on the hammer function, I have a dedicated SDS plus for masonry.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Just quit on me

I bought this drill about nine months ago part of a four piece set. I've only used it a dozen times or so. The other day while drilling a hole just stop. Despite trying everything I can think of I still can't get it to work. There used to be a service center 10 miles away, now the closest one is a couple hundred. I love Milwaukee Tools but Milwaukee is making Hard. I have to 9 amp hour batteries less than 6 months old both of them won't hold a charge. And I can't seem to get a warranty on them. We'll see how the hammer drill warranty goes.

Great when working

I purchased a 2 pc kit in Oct 2021. So about 6 months ago. I was using the 2902-20 for some pilot holes prior to driving screws into wood. On the next pilot hole the drill stopped working. The light would come on when the trigger was engaged, but now drill action. I switched out batteries. Same result. Check the batteries in the impact and they powered that perfectly. The drill is only 6 months old and it doesn't get used but once of twice a month. Very disappointed. I have used Milwaukee tools for many years without issues before.

Great drill with only one flaw

I bought this to replace an old Black&Decker 3/8" cordless. I really like this drill except for one MAJOR design flaw. The directional control switch is positioned too low on the handle. Every time I try to grip it firmly to drive screws I end up depressing the control switch, either locking the trigger or reversing the drill direction. The B&D drill doesnt have that problem. It only needs to be a few mm higher than it is to solve the problem.

Yes, I recommend this product.

its stoped working

I'm using the drill 2-3 times a month but it just stopped working, even the light not working when triggering. I think parts on the electrical board or the Battery Terminal Block Assembly are broken. I look all over the internet but can't any of these parts. I'm confused now because I got 2 very good batteries and one broken drill which can be fixed. 3 stars I like the performance of the drill but it has broken to fast

This tool is light, bright and ready to fight. The batteries charge quickly and the motor packs a punch, I have no regrets with owning this tool. My only tip to anyone else out there considering to buy one would be to write your name on every piece of it or else your dad and brothers will steal it because it’s too fantastic to be left unattended.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Drill just stopped working

I bought this drill in a kit including a circular saw one year ago. weeks ago I was using it to drill some holes for shelf pin and it suddenly stopped working. No light comes on when I press the trigger. I see that this is a common issue for multiple users. I changed the battery, but nothing works. Circular saw works well with any battery.
