Disappointing choice of battery supplier
Not for high drain devices. These cells would work fine for a light, maybe some light drilling, they have no business being used in power tools. Under high discharge like in a saw or impact tool for anything longer than a few seconds at a time they get hot and die quick. They actually die quicker than the 1.5ah batteries under high discharge. These are energy cells, high capacity, low power output. They're for charging your phone, stuff like that. Not running power tools. There are high output 3ah cells out there, but they cost more and Milwaukee chose not to use them for some reason. Go back to LG, Samsung or Sony please. Give the cheap cells to ryobi.

First disappointing product from Milwaukee. :(
a year ago
To start I LOVE Milwaukee products and have been transitioning from Dewalt. However, this is my first disappointing product from Milwaukee. Doing a lot of exterior work I purchase a heated vest 2yrs ago (Awesome product) last year I purchased a cp3.0 to dedicate for my vest hoping to get additional longevity however this battery lasted less than a year and upon some research I discovered the battery has a 2021 date code. This is on me as I never thought to check date code on new purchase. But that said I still only got 1yrs use and I have many other batteries well over 5 yrs.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Batteries are complete overpriced garbage.
I own the m12 line. I've owned this for over four years. The batteries are complete crap. They don't last long and the green and red lights on the charger happens on all five of my overpriced batteries. I only got one years use or of my driver, still and reciprocating saw.o had to go out and buy a Bosch set . My m12 line sits in my closet. I've called Milwaukee in the first year and got nothing but the run around. If there were a way to give 0 stars on the batteries, I souks. The tools are good but it's useless without a good battery

Does NOT last!!!
I have well over 50 Milwaukee M12 and M18 tools. With minor use the M12 Batteries DO NOT LAST!!! I now have 11 useless M12 batteries and when I reached out to Milwaukee about how to get this resolved, they told be to try to find a local dealer and ask them. NOT what I would expect from Milwaukee! This experience has me left with M12 tools I can’t use and has me doubting Milwaukee as a whole. I have not purchased anything from Milwaukee since that experience, and won’t in the future. Horrible service for such a loyal customer!
No, I do not recommend this product.

why arent these batteries coming with any tools
6 years ago
probably the best power to weight ratio in the m12 lineup...but for some unknown reason....never comes with tool or tool combos...sounds like they are trying to push a bunch of old stock batteries on the customer...want to buy into the system with at least 9 different tools....but i dont want any other battery except the 3.0 compact and a couple of 6.0s for high demand cutoff tool or trim saw etc.,...these have the newer cells in them.....dont want to buy newest tools with oldest batteries????....
Yes, I recommend this product.

Love the toos BUT PLEASE SELL the battery clips!
I love all my M12 battery tools, I came here after searching all over the internet for replacement Battery clips. These things break way too frequently and then make a perfecly good battery a nuisance to deal with. I have multiple batteries that have 1 or more of the clips broken off. Please sell the parts for the smaller M12 batteries for $10 or less. These fragile retention clips are the only downfall when I compare my Milwaukee tools to my other battery operated tools!
Yes, I recommend this product.

not until I see how it works

This M-12 Red Lithium CP 3.0 battery came with my Heated jacket. What it didn't come with is directions
I would like to know how to charge the battery and plug in the jacket I have not been able to remove the black part that clips into M-12 tools. despite pressing on the sides. I imagine this black cover that so many people have been complaining about breaking is hiding all the connections . I would love to give this more stars but as of yet Have not been able to use it.

The Achilles heel of the M12 system is the battery
4 years ago
The M12 tools themselves are pretty decent for light and medium duty work but, of the 8 M12 batteries I’ve had, I doubt I’ve gotten 150 charges among the lot of them and have already had 5 die and get recycled. It may be coincidence, but early dual chargers seem to kill them.
Until the last dies and I want to use one of my M12 tools, I’m sticking with the M18 system personally and professionally.
