Big help in a small tool

I love it , use it more than I expected , super handy , it saved me lots of agony multiple times , feels great works as expected . I mean a few times I turned this thing into a milling machine , you know with the proper die , this thing can outperformed a cnc machine . I’ve modified aluminum wire lugs , trimmed openings in galvanized cladding ... the list goes on

Great die grinder, great for field service

Great grinder with a ton of power. Excellent for in field use where you can’t get your service truck right close to use the air. Need to run the larger Xc batteries as the smaller ones don’t last and when Battery gets below 2 bars grinder will start to stall when under heavy load. Great tool and for most will replace air all together if not using non stop all day.

It definitely doesn’t have more power than the air die grinder so that is misleading in the information but it’s nice not having a hose to deal with. Also the way it ramps up to speed it annoying i would prefer having instant power rather the a slow build up even if you smash full trigger i am a little disappointed over all especially at the price point in canada

Nice working tool. Use the correct attachment(s) and it's gold. Be sure to research the 1/4" shank tool attachment(s) you'll need to acquire. Hi-end attachments can get expensive. Safety start switch takes getting use to. Swapping tools also takes time, no quick tool change here. But it does work..... I must learn to be quicker with the provided wrenches.

This thing is awesome. It works so well and is well thought out. I've used all of its settings thus far, slower speeds for aluminum and softer metals and higher speeds for removing rust scale from brake caliper carriers. This has got to be one of the most versatile tools Milwaukee makes. I now know why they were hard to get after they were first made avaible.

as a mobile heavy duty tech , i use this tool a lot , i use it for cutting/grinding , use it with flap wheels or carbides to clean pin bores and roloc wheels for surface prep . It has fast become one my favorite tools, i am not always near power or air so this is ideal,this tool is small enough to get into the tight spots and has ample power to get the job done

Didn't even know about this tool then I saw it in a video and was like I got to have it it's got 4 speeds and it's trigger sensitive so you can always find the right speed (the only thing I can say is always wear safety glasses) once you sling something in your eye you will never forget to wear glasses again so just keep a pair with the tool and save your eyes

This works perfectly for me. I use it for metal work at home. I don't have a large enough compressor to run pneumatic tools and Milwaukee has solved that problem for me with their M12 and M18 grinders and sanders. Plus I'm not tripping over air hoses! Now I just need them to come out with a M18 version of a air hammer and planishing hammer and I'll be all set.

I like the line up of Milwaukee tools, not sold on the 12 line as of yet small battery packs are not really what I am looking for. When up into a space that is difficult to get into don't want to have to wiggle out to replenish packs, I do however see many applications where the smaller lighter packs are beneficial. Home mechanic. Fan of Milwaukee tools. Thought I’d give this a try as opposed to pulling out the compressor. Tool has a similar feel to the air tool. Speed settings are useful along with the trigger modulation. Haven’t actually used it on a panel yet. Will see how the batteries hold up. Only purchased for small rust touch ups so I expect that it will be fine.

Bought this as an alternative to air die grinders and have yet to find a piece that will fit for roloc discs kinda makes me off says its 1/4 which my air one is and fits my air o e just fine but does not fit my milwaukee die grinder kinda mad about that considering I've bought 4 different type roloc pieces trying to get one to work with out modifying anything

This is an amazing tool! First to the market and it does not disappoint. The battery life is not to shabby and the variable speed control is a nice feature to have with different jobs. Two complaints... The handle is rather large compared to pneumatic counterparts and I find that the light should be able the trigger rather than below it. Overall a solid tool.

I bought this to clean up metal when doing body work on old rusty vehicles I’m fixing up. I like the rolloc arbor with 36 grit, the mini flap wheels and scothbrites. I haven’t done any cutting or bur bits with it yet. I like the m12 3” cutoff tool for removing old metal and trimming patch panels. Runs an acceptable amount of time on the 5.0/6.0ah batteries.

Cons—runs batteries down fairly quickly. On a 2.0 battery i get about 10-15 minutes of aggressive run time. Pros—compact, no noisy air hose, variable speed trigger, trigger lock similar to a air powered trigger, lightweight, ergonomic. It fits the bill. Amazing tool, this tool single handedly made me switch to milwaukee and fully convert to electric tools

It is a handy tool to get in tight places and grind, it is also good for areas a bigger grinder can’t get. I also like that you can put different accessories in it. Price is not bad. Con about it, the light is in bad place. Hand get in way of it to shine in the right place. Other then that I like it very much, use it regularly. Keep up good work Milwaukee.

Finally bought one

Been looking at this tool for while now, really like the different speeds, not happy the weather has been to bad to try it out. My air die grinder works good but my compressor can’t keep up, so this tool solves that problem. Being right angle is something I have wished I had for quite time, just need for the snow and rain to stop to give it a proper test.

I've only had this for about three weeks and have been slowly transitioning from my air die grinder to this. I would say that it doesn't feel quite like the workhorse that the air powered tool is but it is so convenient for quick touch up jobs and cleaning. I am really enjoying the tool and it makes good use of the 12v batteries I have for my other tools.

Perfect timing for this tool

This product came out at the perfect time. I have 7 other 12 V Fuel tools and love them all. I was just about to send in a request saying that a die grinder would be the perfect addition to the line up and I got an e mail blast saying that this had been released. I bought it same day. Out powers my air driven die grinder and a lot more convienient.

Too fat of a handle

Feels like a quality tool but the handle is way to fat! I have larger hands and it still is far bigger than it needs to be. Especially when compared to an air tool. I don't even understand why it is so large. The motor is in the head so there is no reason for the extremely large handle. I think if the size was better this would be a much better tool!

First Milwaukee tool I have regrets buying

I’m a auto-mechanic and I own several Milwaukee tools, I bought this grinder 2 weeks ago. I use it to buff wheel hub and preparing surfaces before welding, it’s a major disappointment, it shuts off after 5 seconds, and it seems I’m not alone. I regret buying it, never thought I’d feel like that from Milwaukee. I’ll keep using my air grinder for now.

This tool has been by far my worst Milwaukee purchase. The tool has no power, shuts off with a mind of its own and it burns through batteries when it does work by chance. It seems as if the tool gets hot with what I would consider moderate pressure and then the issues start. Anyone using an air die grinder will laugh at how poor this tool performs.

Good but not Great

I bought this for work to not be tied to air. It has it's up sides and it's down sides. The handle is a bit large, and yes it will chew through a 3ah battery like its nothing if you don't back down the rpms. My biggest disappointment is how quickly it will over heat. This tool can't handle long periods of continuous grinding. Now for the upside to the tool. It is fantastic for when you have quick tasks because you don't have to run an air line and you can tackle the job quickly. It is also nice being able to set the max rpms and this helps to save battery life as well. This is a great tool for quick jobs and great small projects. With all that being said, this tool isn't able to replace your air grinder but it is a nice tool to have. the price point is a little high since it isn't able to replace my air grinder. When the price comes down I'll buy another one for my house and maybe another for work to solve the overheating issue.

Don't use with wire Wheels

This tool works great for sanding and buffing but if you want to use it for wire wheels don't buy it it cuts out constantly something about the wire wheel that make it cut out I've tried two of them because I thought maybe the first one I bought was defective but it wasn't just doesn't work well with wire wheel even the two inch size didn't work

I USE THIS AS A CORRUGATOR MECHANIC. THE SOUND (OR LACK THERE OF) IS AN EAR SAVER. EVEN WITH HEARING PROTECTION THE AIR GRINDERS ARE DEAFENING BUT THIS IS BARELY AUDIBLE. ALSO, THE EASE OF MOBILITY WHITH NOT HAVING TO MANEUVER AN AIR HOSE MAKES MY JOB MUCH EASIER. THE CORRUGATOR HAS A LOT OF VERY TIGHT SPACES THAT I CAN REACH MUCH MORE EASILY.

Quick to use in a fast paced mechanic shop

I’m a truck mechanic and use this tool often, mostly with a sanding- type disc to clean mating surfaces. I have not tried it yet with a cutting wheel. Beats using an air tool, just grab and go and get to work. It fits in tight places well. Fast charging batteries that last for a decent amount of use on a full charge. Happy with my purchase.

I had high hopes for the die grinder but what a disappointment. It just shuts off randomly, even with different batteries. I even went and purchased the XC4.0 M12 batteries in hopes that would help but it didn't. I love all of my other Milwaukee cordless tools but I guess its back to dragging the ole air hose around again with this one.

Great product, petty it keeps on cutting out

Being a big fan of Milwaukee, I am a bit disappointed in this tool. As many others, the tool keeps on cutting out, even on a freshly charged battery. The four battery lights goes down to none, when it cuts out, although the work light still stay on. Gave it some time to cool down, after about 10 minutes of operation the same happens again.

Used for surface cleaning and sharpening metal. Easy to handle and control, handle is a little thick for, but I don't have large hands. The adjustable speed is nice, the tool is surprisingly quiet. Lightweight and well balanced with an XC battery. Works really well with 2" roloc abrasive disks. Runs longer than expected on XC3 battery

Disappointed with this die grinder

I am a diesel technician and use this to clean mating surfaces. I own many Milwaukee M18 and M12 products. I has great expectations about this and was disappointed. the tool works amazing for about 15 to 20 seconds then just stops. It will start working again if I release and pull the trigger. but it just keeps stopping. Very frustrating.

I work in public school so I use this tool for all different kinds of jobs,,I been using it to clean up my boilers,,I was able to smooth out some pipes so I can repaint them,,a lot easier then using a full grinder,,I also been using it on my car made the jobs quick and easy,,,the only down fall I have is trying to find good Quality Bits
