Solid performing cordless angle die grinder

Great cordless angle die grinder. Thank goodness no more air hoses or waiting for the compressor to catch up. Would have been 5 star if tool was variable speed and not speed selection but nice that there is some speed control. Battery performs a decent period. Obviously the larger the battery the longer the run time. I just find it very convenient to be able to slap in a battery and go.

This will not replace your air-powered die grinder, Even letting it wind up fully then working the part the motor protection still shuts it down. It will not run a wire wheel a the vibration causes a shut down as well. This has been the only Milwaukee tool that did not impress me with power and ease of use, if you have never used an air-powered grinder it would probably be satisfactory.

I finally had the chance to use my new Christmas present so I removed the one inch wire cup brush from my air die grinder and mounted it to my new Milwaukee right angle die grinder. I installed a fully charged 4.0ah battery so I could remove some light rust from a sheet of steel. I put the grinder at the #1 setting and squeezed the paddle trigger. I lightly placed the wire brush against the steel plate and the grinder stopped after a couple seconds. I released the paddle and tried again with the same result. Next I tried the 2,3, and 4 settings with the same result. I replaced the battery with another fully charged battery with the same results. I removed the wire cup from the grinder and put it back in my air grinder so I could finish my work. I have 16 other Fuel M12 and M18 Tools that I couldn’t be happier with so I guess I just got a bad one. Too bad, I was really excited to use this grinder.

I haven’t used it much but it works great! I already have other Milwaukee M12 and M18 tools so this fit right in. I needed to knock a bit off something and there was no airline or electric outlet in the area. I put a sanding disk on it and put it in my pocket of my jacket. Removed the but in about 30 seconds. It would have taken longer to run a hose or airline. I love this die grinder.

I have been looking for a replacement for my Ingersoll 14.4 Volt Angle Die Grinder for years. I have asked Milwaukee numerous times and my wishes finally came true. It was definitely worth the wait. This unit is as close to the pneumatic version as possible. The grinder is balanced and is easy to use. It is bigger than a pneumatic grinder, but no hose. Waiting for the straight version.

First Milwaukee tool I've been disappointed with

I have alot of money invested in Milwaukee tools and this is the first time I have ever been disappointed. Now that I have read other people's reviews I know that I'm not the only one. The first time I tried to use this tool to polish a headlight lens it cut off after 10 seconds, then will only operate in short bursts. How can this be called a grinder when it can't handle mild load.

I like my Milwaukee tools. That’s the only power tools I own. But this thing is terrible. I don’t know how they let it out of the factory. It stalls out under minimal load. It doesn’t even bog down to a stop. It goes 100 to 0 as soon as you touch it to what you’re working on. Will not buy again. It’s probably just gonna sit in my tool box and collect dust while I use my pneumatic.

The M12 right angle die grinder is awesome i used to use all air tools and have completely switched to cordless Milwaukee the M12 die grinder is a beast is out performs over air grinders all day plus it’s super quiet don’t have to listen to the air grinder all day I’ve owned my grinder for over 3 yrs and it’s still going strong I use it pretty much every day it’s a must have tool

The tools are amazing especially with the 6ah battery, way more practical for plant and power generation maintenance as our locations are all over the site and usually far from air compressors resulting in lots of set up time for air powered tools. I ran my whole section of the project with battery tools and plug in. In the process of having everything run on batteries for the outstanding efficiency and productivity gains. In the time our competitors are setting up conventional tooling, I'm already half way done the task. My only complaint would be the size for certain cases where I will have to use my small air die grinders, but then im going to get the M18 air compressor and to have the tool lights right around where the bit goes just like the impact drivers instead of at the bottom of the trigger, alsoIf milwaukee could make a 45° die grinder next that would be awesome to have in my arsenal to utilize.

Another great tool in the M12 lineup. Works very well, good power, and reasonable battery life. The only complaint I have with this item is the collet seems to get stuck so removing bits is sometimes difficult. One surprise was the quality of the supplied wrenches, they are two or three times thicker than any other tool supplied wrenches so they actually work! Great product.

Bought this for cleaning up in tight spaces for welding. Turns out that with some 60 grit on a roloc disc it chews through steel like nobody's business. Goes through batteries pretty quickly but it's super handly, gets into small spaces well, and I'm very happy with it. Looks like with some scotch brite roloc pads, it will be perfect for cleanning up RTV on differentials too.

I use this product daily for deburring parts, removing paint from surfaces, removing unwanted material from details and anything else that it will work for. I really like the convenience of battery power vs. air/electric. Seems to last quite a while on a charge. A bit bulky and a tad heavier than pneumatic grinders but I'm not dragging an air line around either so its all good.

Everything is good about this die grinder except the ergonomics. The handle stays the same diameter from the battery to the head. It needs the same shape as all other Milwaukee tools. It does not fit the hand well. If the paddle switch is the reason, the switch could have easily gone to the same design as the drills and impacts. The paddle is unnecessary and is only tradition.

The only con i can say is if you dont have multiple batteries or a bigger capacity battery then you will get upset because it does use up batteries but its still a beautifull thing not having to string an air line. Just waiting for the straight now. Oh, and after getting one of these I and using it I turned around and got another so I can have diff collet setups ready to go..

After many years of air tool usage as a technician, I’ve been converting my entire collection from air to cordless. The die grinders are some of the last to be replaced. I can say, as a road tech, it’s nice not to always have to fire up a compressor, and have an air line tail to deal with. My Milwaukee collection keeps growing, and it’s for a reason, they work and work well.

It’s a nice little angle grinder. I think it’s more for light duty working. It goes thru batteries a little quicker than I would like and it doesn’t have much torque to it. It does spin quick. I think it would be better used for light sanding and polishing and less grinding. I use it mostly with a small wire wheel attachment to clean up welded areas before and after welding.

I wanted to give my old air compressor a break as my pneumatic die grinder loves air. I I Didn’t really think too much about this one but my curiosity got the better of me. I have a couple of 12 volt jackets so I just got the bare tool. So far I’m very impressed. Even with the 2.0 ah battery it does very well only cutting out in the most heavy usage. Very happy overall.

I use this with Roloc discs to polish saw cuts on aluminum stock. Absolutely love it, but I'm deducting one star because the large diameter body makes trigger engagement a bit clumsy. I understand the size of the M12 batteries themselves would seem to dictate the size of the body of the tool, but I believe it would have been possible to step down near where the battery ends.

Im a service tech and i use it occasionally to clean off rim beads. The tool works great but it eats through my 3.0 amph batteries. Im not sure hour the 6.0 batteries will stand up to this. But the tool is hand if you need to do auto work outside any garage. The trade off for convenience is the short batteries life and size but works preforming as well as any air die grinder

Works pretty well. Good power. Battery life is decent, about 15-20 minutes on a 3 amp battery. The chuck is a little tight initially, but gets better. The one glaring thing I have noticed, and it's almost nit-picking is the speed range sticker on the rear of the tool. Not very permanent. I ended up peeling it off and sticking in a spot that I could refer to it if necessary.

Bought this grinder to clean gasket surfaces. As a HVACR tech air hoses and compressed air is something I don’t have so I was happy to see this tool, but it runs for about 5 seconds then stops I’ve tried everything but it always shuts off. Motor has torque but I think a safety is to sensitive kinda feels like I wasted my money but maybe they will make a 2.0 that is better

This tool rocks. I’ve used it with a bunch of 2” accessories (40, 80 & 120 grit Roloc discs, 40 and 60 grit cutoff wheels, wire wheels). The 4 and 6 amp hour batteries are totally necessary. Ran it thru 2 6ah batteries in a row smoothing out a 10” lodge cast iron skillet and it didn’t skip a beat. I haven’t had any of the cut out issues that other people have experienced.

Definitely not satisfied at all with this tool. Have had multiple issues with it cutting out with little pressure. Have video of it running and barely touching metal with a cutting wheel and just stopping. Instantly changing to a fully charged battery and same thing. Im truly shocked at how poorly this tool performs as i have probably 12 m12 and m18 ratchets and impacts.

I typically buy the 18v tools as a default, but this 12v die grinder has every bit of power that I could ask for. The 12v edition also adds in the smaller size and weight in working with this tool as well. The different RPM settings really gets you the specific power you need. It's now one of my favorite Milwaukee tools in my collection, its like an unfair advantage.

This die grinder is Versatile giving me many options for use cutting job time down. Compact item makes easy for use in close quarters. Mobile able to use the tool virtually anywhere quickly without need of air hose. Only down side is you have to purchase multiple attachments e.g 1/8” collet for certain surface prep items, and separate 1/4 cut off arbor 2” cutting disc.

it runs great free wheeling , and will keep going tell you let off the trigger , but as soon as it gets any load it shuts down like the power cord gets yanked outta the wall , and like others ive tried the bigger better battery , and it doesnt matter if its the small battery or the big one , highly disappointing considering how well all my other Milwaukee tools work !

This thing is amazing, I'm a diesel technician and I use this with roloc dics and even as a cut off wheel. It's super quiet compared to an air grinder and of course the cordless gets rid of that air line you gotta try to squeeze into places with the grinder itself. Recommend the XC 6.0 batteries because she does eat some serious juice if you use it as a cut off wheel.

I’ve been waiting for a right angle fie grinder. I purchased this and was very excited. The first time I used it, it was a terrible experience. The battery drains way too fast! It stops while working, and it didn’t seem to matter about downward pressure. I’ve purchased many M12 tools. So I’m accustomed to Milwaukee cordless. I wouldn’t recommend this tool to anybody!

Right angle 2450-20 grinder.. just ok.

I've been testing this thing in the shop for about a year, and while it's good while it works... It cuts out under any load. And I can't find any reference to fix that. If you're applying very light pressure then it's okay but if there's any sort of pressure from a polishing disc or burr It stops. Not sure how it has more power than a air tool as advertised above...

I’m very disappointed in this tool it stops for no reason with the slightest bit of pressure it eats through battery’s even the 6ah ones it’s under power and cannot compare to pneumatic it is next to impossible to remove the attachments I’m huge fan and supporter of Milwaukee and I love every other Milwaukee tool I have but I’m extremely disappointed in this product
