Nice Saw, I use this tool mainly for HVAC install Much more compact than the bandsaw in tight locations its great for light duty stuff. Its not gonna replace the sawzall for heavy lumber cutting, but small bits like redi-rod, conduit or cleats its perfect One handed operation Small enough for tool pouch Decent runtime Great purchase

Fantastic tool, especially with the 6ah battery, but still very impressive when paired with a 2ah. Great for light demo work, or if you just need to make something shorter. You get full power with this thing right up until there's nothing left. I'd use it to carve the thanksgiving turkey if my wife would let me. M12 FUEL all the way!

Great Little Saw

I bought this because my M18 Fuel Hackzall was stolen and I wanted to try something a little more compact. I work as a residential HVAC Installer and I need it to get into tight spaces a lot of times which it does better then the M18. As long as you are not expecting 18 volt power out of this tool I do not think you will be disappointed.

After our original hackzall had a motor failure (after 6 years of use in maintenance) we bought the fuel model. It came recommended from other trades and all I can say is wow! While bigger then the regular unit the power is night and day. Makes short work of everything you toss at it. We have a new favourite go to tool in the department

One handed power -- got it with a free battery. Can't beat the one-handed ease when cutting pipe, tubing, branches, -- anything. Get the Fuel, not the regular Hackzall. and the m12 platform is great with many great tools. Not heavy like the M18, much stronger than the Bosch 12v it is replacing. Get in tight spots like under sinks.

Purchased the M12 FUEL HACKZALL for a specific job and have used it almost exclusively since. It is very compact and lightweight compared to my big yellow corded saw. One handed use is a breeze. Lots of power to eat through aluminum, steel, hardened steel, etc. Great on the job and around the house. Has become one of my go-to tools.

This was a 2018 Christmas gift. It's size and weight are real pluses. With the battery inserted the Hackzall is perfectly balanced, which makes it easy to use and operate. Don't let it's size deter you from getting one. It is powerful enough for most around the home jobs and because of it's size it can go places larger models can't.

I've used this for various 2x4 and other cutting purposes. It's my first sawzall so I have no comparison, but it has performed well. Doesn't drain the battery much, and plenty of power. My first use was to cut old 4x4 posts at a 45 degree angle. These were tough cuts but it handled it. Cuts 2x4 easy. Solid design and easy to use.

I’ve only used this once but it was awesome. I was cutting down a dead tree so I needed to cut with one hand and hold the branches with the other. This Hackzall made the job so much easier and quicker than using a hand saw. I haven’t cut any metal products yet so I can’t speak to that but I would definitely recommend for cutting wood.

I bought this mainly for trimming small tree branches that intrude into the yard from the woods behind the house. My wife is the one who complains about it so I'm hoping this will be lightweight enough for her to use. With the appropriate set of blades it'll also replace a hand hacksaw and be useful for other occasional cutting jobs.

I mainly use these for pruning and I use a pruning blade. Very small and light. Easy to climb trees and take some branches off that are hanging low. Battery life is great with the 4ah. I buy all Milwaukee brand. I have about 7 of there impacts and drills extremely powerful. You simple cannot beat the cordless. Not a single complaint

Perfect tool for the job

I went out to look for a one handed reciprocating saw at two major hardware stores and Milwaukee was the only company that made what I needed. It is the perfect tool for small jobs like breaking down branches and fence parts. It's a good quality, tough little tool and I will go to Milwaukee first for my next power tool requirement.

Honestly at first I was cautiously optimistic about my purchase of the tool. I used it to fit the blade between the planks and 2x4 to disassemble pallets which it cut the nails with ease. Then I tried cutting 1/2 emt, 3/4 emt and shallow unistrut which it cut thru without any problems. Awesome tool and worth every penny I spent

This is my third Hackzall, original one was from when the Hackzall was first released (which still works great). My second one was the Fuel, but that one was stolen I bought the Fuel version because of the longer stroke. The only thing that I would ask to be improved is the blade change method. That twist head method is a pain.

Not a "one-handed tool"!

I sold the same tool of a competitor to replace with this, and unfortunately was very disappointed. Unlike the competitors, it is definitely needed preasure applied and held to tool and what you are cutting, or will "bounce " during the use. That is my favorite feature of a competitors version, that it is a "one-handed" tool.

I am a commercial plumber/pipefitter. I use the hackzall daily. In my opinion the sawzall isn’t even needed anymore. The battery life is great, the performance is great, and the ergonomics are great! All around, best tool in the Milwaukee M18 arsenal, in my opinion. I will certainly recommend this to my friends and coworkers!

I use hackzall while installing and repairing irrigation systems. Love having the ability to get into tight places without digging a massive hole. Also works great for removing tree roots, not as fun as using an axe but way more efficient! Time is money, and with the hackzall I paid for it in time savings in the first job.

Had this tool for about 2 months before it stoped operating properly I sent it back to Milwaukee to have it repaired after it was damaged but it took them over 11 weeks to send the tool back Iv also currently benne waiting over 4 months for 2 batteries i sent so don’t expect a quick turn around when this tool malfunctions.

Most versitile tool in my tool box

I use it every day as a plumber. From cutting threaded rod, steel, and pvc pipe, even cast iron, when in a pinch. Subflooring to access plumbing and lumber... extremely well balanced and comfortable to use. If I had one complaint it would be, as a plumber is does get wet. I did replace one due to water getting in to it.

I got this to replace my 30-year old corded Milwaukee sawzall. Didn't know if it would be strong enough to get the demolition done, but after one day realized its just as strong as my old electric full size sawzall and much more ergonomic. This unit is very powerful, quiet, has great light and battery life is excellent

One of the biggest likes is the fact that I can cut with one hand and hold the drop with the other hand. With a standard Sawzall the saw would drop fast when it made it through the material. The ease of use and overall power is awesome. I've also used this to cut roots on stumps to dig them up. Makes life way easier!

even more useful then I thought it would be. I have use a metal blade to cut plastic and wood up to 1/4". haven't had the opportunity to use it on sheet rock or metal yet but I'm sure that it will be up to the task. one note is the 2amp battery don't last long in this tool, recommend using the 4amp or 6amp batteries

Great compact saw as long as you're sure to use it correctly. Pair it with the correct blade and it melts 1/2", 3/4" and 1" EMT with ease. Trying much larger pipe will test your patience and attempting Rigid cuts with it will test your sanity. Just grab the Sawzall for the Rigid. You know you own one of those too...

I bought this product to actually tear down big cardboard boxes and cut up the large palm branches that constantly fall in my yard. It has been perfect for both - cuts through them like butter and has the ultimate precision. At some point I'm sure Ill move on to metal and wood and it will work good there as well.

The Hackzall Fuel is stronger than you would think, and has power to spare. It may not be an average homeowner’s everyday tool, but for those times that you need to cut something while holding it with one hand, this tool has no equal. Both batteries, the CP and the XC work well, with the XC having more run time.

I originally bought this for helping my son do a bathroom remodel. I have a large 2 handed corded reciprocal saw but wanted the convenience and size of a cordless. The M12 Hackzall was the perfect choice. We finished the remodel and the hackzall has been used around the house including taking down a medium tree!

After watching the 12 volt saw comparisons on YouTube and since i already have an extensive line of Milwaukee tools I went with the Milwaukee 12 volt Fuel Hackzall and I was impressed with the power that came out out of the smaller size!
