Big power from a 12v!!!

Wow this thing cranks! I bought this to get into tighter spaces. I am very happy with the performance. I tried using it to cut through cement board and subfloor and you could tell that was a little too much for it. Had to pull the 18v for that. Used it to trim windows out of a shed and the guys couldn’t believe it was only a 12v. Check out my Instagram for photos soon. @bryansstayathomedad

Tough, safe and handy!

So I bought this to cut up to 3/8” fiberglass and it’s worked very well. Faster than a pneumatic air saw and safer that a diamond blade saw. I’ve also used it to cut an 3” hollow aluminum pipe with 1/8” thick walls without a problem. Very handy to have. I look forward to using it on plenty of projects around the house as well as at work when working on boats. Wish I would have taken pictures.

I've used this saw to cut PVC and copper mostly. I rips right threw both! Great tool to have when you need to cut drywall out of tour way as well! Its light weight makes easy and comfortable to use. I'd say the only draw backs are the time it takes to cut threw metal studs and the battery life seems a little short lived. But overall, a very handy tool to have! I would definitely recommend it!

I always wanted to pick up a demolition type cutoff tool but the prices, size and frequency of use never quite lined up for me. I came across a deal on one of these so I grabbed one thinking it might be kind of weak but it might be handy... I was wrong. It's hilariously powerful for it's size! It's a bit power hungry when cutting through hardwood 4x4 pallets but it didn't slow down whatsoever! A 4.0ah battery will do the trick for light stuff, but 6.0 without question if you're going to work it. That being said, I would much rather have to swap batteries on an amusingly impressive compact tool than have an average tool with average everything. Kind of like how you don't care about fuel economy when the car always makes you smile. It turns out that Milwaukee makes pruning blades as well, so I often grab this and save the big chainsaw for what this can't do efficiently. It's just so easy.

I'm a plumber, and I use this little Hackzall almost daily for my job. I cut PVC pipe, 2" steel well pipe, steel conduit, allthread, struts, and many other bits and pieces. I also usually use the Milwaukee Torch blades for a cleaner cut and longer blade life. With regular cleaning and lubrication of the moving parts after use in wet or dusty locations this tool has given me perfect service.

Once again a service plumber here, we use sawzalls all the time. This thing is rad! It’s lightweight and I would say even compact compared to a regular sawzall. Comfortable grip. But for real having it be so light makes it nice! I have the money to spend on m18 series items, but these m12 mean business- not just for little home projects- these gadgets are paying my bills and keeping up.

I'm a plumbing contractor and recently purchased the hackzall. This thing is awesome! I almost never use my regular sawzall anymore. The balance is way better than a conventional sawzall and lighter too. Not sure about the longevity yet but seems tough so far and I'm not exactly easy on my equipment. Milwaukee has served me well for years, don't know why this would be any different.

An essential tool

I've had this hackzall for about two months now and previously owned a dewalt sawzall. On my experience the fact that the milwaukee m12 hackzall can be operated with a single hand, makes the product worth buying. I do a lot of plumbing service calls and pipe cutting in tight spaces require a tool like this. I am able to get into spaces that I normally wouldn't be able to with a two handed sawzall. The power that this hackzall has is quite substantial. It never chokes when cutting something too sense. It only takes a little longer. I would say that it's more powerful than my two handed dewalt 18v sawzall. The only criticism I have is the blade chuck. Already mine got jammed and had to used WD-40 to loosen it. I would like to see milwaukee improve this aspect. I would like to see a lever release rather than trying to spin it with your two fingers. Sometimes when it's stiff, it's hard to get a blade in.

Great Tool. It’s a handy little tool that I reach for 99% of the time when needing a reciprocating saw. I only use the full sized Sawzall for big jobs. I have and 18 and 12 version of the Hackzall and they don’t disappoint. I had an original 12 volt non fuel years ago and it wasn’t impressive, I believe it was more a battery issue than a tool issue. I would recommend it to anyone.

SUPER handy tool. I opted for the m12 over the m18 due to size. Don't expect this to cut as fast as a massive reciprocating saw, but it will get you out of a jam! There are places you cant use torches or fit a grinder and this tool can squeeze into a wheel well and cut through 10.9 grade suspension bolts. Or up into the tunnel to cut an exhaust pipe off in a tight spot. Must have!

This thing is a beast. Tried it out by cutting up a pallet and it was more than powerful enough... blade got stuck at one point and the saw rattled my skull (cheap blade/operator fault, not the saw). If I was running residential demo work all day I'd look into the m18 version - for a serious DIY homeowner or residential remodeler, this does at least 80% of what you will need.

Just bought a fixer-upper And have lots of work to do. This is perfect for many jobs. I also Had to cut back some crab apple branches and over growth on the tree. This tool trimmed it perfect. I’m really liking it and the weight of it is perfect for me. I bought the drill set M12 Fuel too. We’ve got a major remodel this time and this tool line, M12 FUEL is just right for me.

I love this little monster. I’ve used it from home remodels, plumbing, and race car building. With the right blades this thing will buzz through whatever you need to cut, with one hand. My father in law loved mine so much, I bought him one for Father’s Day. I love how I can get into tight spaces. The battery lasts a long time. It’s pretty much one of my favorite tools.

I bought this tool on the recommendation of the head of maintenance for a summer camp I worked at and the recommendation of an employee at a lumber yard. I needed to use it to trim back a very large bush/tree on my property. I charged it up and it worked great. I used the pruning blade and finished my work without a hiccup. Will definitely recommend this tool to others.

I am a pathetic DYI failure artist and wannabe enduro mountain biker. The Hackzall looked to be the ultimate trail clearing companion (with the pruning blade) and home improvement gizmo. I am thrilled with the performance on both fronts. It is easy to use, feels great, and has tons of power. Unfortunately, the Hackzall has only inflamed my severe case of tool addiction.

Excellent for tree/shrub trimming

Before I bought the Hackzall, I had borrowed one from a friend. I wanted to do small branch trimming and was tired of using a hand saw. For my purposes, it's everything I need. We live in Southern California where things grow pretty much non-stop and it's too expensive to have professionals coming out all the time. I haven't explored all the other applications yet.

I am a journeyman plumber in Washington State and have multiple Milwaukee cordless products ... will never purchase m12 products again. Very nice and small but the batteries fail and fall out plus the sawzaw has been warrantied 7 times and replaced 7 times in 5 years , yes the warranty is great but three weeks without a saw really gets to you. M18 FUEL all the way

It’s great to have a powerful cutting compact saw. I like that it doesn’t take up too much space in my toolbox and definitely fits anywhere on the job. What I don’t like however is the M12 battery will become disconnected during the cut while gripping the tool. I feel a reciprocating tool should have another locking mechanism to prevent that from happening.

Plenty of power to saw most anything. This saw fits in limited access areas and makes quick work of sawing wood or metal materials. I had owned a more expensive 14.4 volt brand. This Milwaukee 12 volt saw has much more power than the other brand. It saws much faster through the same materials I would saw with the other brand and battery life is excellent.

I purchased the M18 Reciprocating hacksaw, which I HIGHLY recommend. I like the M18 so much, I decided to get this smaller version , just because...I think I'm getting addicted to great tools. The battery is a little difficult to get off, a friend brought hers back due to this. Still, I think it's a great all around the house, inside and out, tool. Love it

Big power in a small comfortable package. It’s nice to be able to carry a “compact reciprocating saw” packed with unbelievable power, when you have to lug around a lot tools all day. The other bonus is you’re able to sneak the saw into tight spaces where a full size reciprocating saw just can’t get in and with that “FUEL POWER” just saying can’t go wrong.

Just purchased this M12 Hacksaw Kit. Great compact M12 Hacksaw comparative to M18 Hacksaw which I used both. Great application in tight spaces with same results. The only disappointment was the tool bag which came with this kit. The seams at both zipper closure and out side pocket separated at first use. Quality definitely not the same as in the past.

Wanted to buy this guy because of the one handed operation it gives you, while still being powerful enough to cut through what you need. Purchased some Milwaukee blades to go with it and work great. Also ordered some long blades to make it easier to prune my palm trees and fruit trees if on a ladder. Love the fuel model and would definitely recommend

I use this product in right spaces,up on the ladder and on a lot of small projects. It is great with the smaller projects, but yesterday for example I needed to saw out a circle in some plywood on the side of a house for an exhaust fan and it died on me twice, I lost my balance but luckily didn’t fall, but that was my first negative even with the saw.

Used this product to cut out drain in bathroom sink so I could redo drain for new sink going in. Couldn't have done without this. I find that when I use a regular hacksaw always end up cutting on angle, not so with this. Smaller footprint makes easier to fit in tight spaces vs a sawzall. Have used for a few things now including cutting pool line

This saw actually changed my toolbox. I carry it everywhere and it saves me from extra trips back to the truck. Haven’t had a job yet that I needed my bigger recip saw. Power is fantastic. The stroke is shorter, so it does take a tiny bit longer on bigger cuts. But I figured I still save more time because it’s always with me. Shocked by M12 power.

Great tool. One needed improvement

Like all my Milwaukee M12 tools; it works great. The only tool I’ve ever had trouble with is the hackzall. I am a plumber and the tool gets wet and the circuit gets damaged. I purchased the fuel this time to see if it works better. If you all would “marine proof” the circuit on the switch; that would probably increase the life of the hackzall

I had used the non-fuel version at work before, I decided to buy the fuel version to assist with installation of wire shelving in my new house. Talk about making it a breeze. Was installing before we moved in, the hackzall helped me cut all the tracks and shelves one handed over a garbage can because there wasn't a single table in the house.
