I'm happily unsatisfied

This little thing is a powerhouse, compact, lightweight, 1/2 " chuck, the list goes on and on . I do have one complaint however, for anyone that hasn't actually used this thing this may sound like I'm crazy or joking but there needs to be an option to at least be able to purchase a side handle for those certain situations when you need a better grip on the tool. After all it has a 1/2 " chuck so don't think people aren't going to test its limits . With the body being as compact as it is I find it very difficult to get a solid grip at times. A removable handle like almost every single other hammer drill comes with needs to be available.

Almost there with matching 18Volt

I had the last version of this drill and was happy, but this newer version takes a little less space in my already overpacked tool bag. Size and weight are affecting me as l go to each job. Already l trust the power l need for my general duties from wood/metal/masonry. It gets me there without needing my larger 18 Volt tools which weigh more and the battery being bigger. From light to general duties this is great for my jobs. Now to see if it can compete with the larger tools at 18volt then that would be bonus!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great drill, hasn't let me down!!

Better than I anticipated. I have the M18 hammer drill and anticipated a large difference in power. As of now, I haven't came across anything I couldn't drill and I use 1" auger bits and spade bits quite often. I'm sure if I compared them side by side I would see the difference, but I have no complaints on the drills ability to get work done. I was a little disappointed that there wasnt a bit holder on the drill or the impact, But then again, Milwaukee seems to have troubles making a good bit holder

Yes, I recommend this product.

New is not better

I use this tool daily as a electrician and I have to say every new re- vamp Milwaukee comes out with is worse and worse the gears ratchet on drill mode in first with one hand it constantly overloads and needs to cool down and that happens before you use 1/2 of a 4 amp hour battery. Sick of returning these for warranty but every time I do the original M12 fuel is in my garage with 5+ hard years under it's belt and probably another 5 to go. Getting harder and harder to justify purchasing these tools.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Punches above it's weight class

I've used DeWalt and other 20v tools. This Milwaukee 12v is just as capable and more compact to fit in tight places. The M12 hammer drill isn't as fast as DeWalt, but actually drills a better hole because it doesn't wallow out the hole. It drills a more precise hole in masonry to use tapcon screws. The half inch chuck with 18" auger bit running through studs with no problem. I specifically bought the M12 line of products for working in low voltage working in tight spaces.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Don’t buy

Worked great for first 4 months then just gave up. I am a homeowner and used only occasionally but the gears seemed to have stripped out. Can’t even drill a hole in a piece of wood without it stopping even with a new battery. I can even stop the drill by holding the chuck. I have a brushless 12v Milwaukee that I have had for years and it is still working great. Bought the new one because of the 1/2 chuck and being brushless but it turned out to be junk.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Poor design

Pretty disappointed in this m12 hammer drill not at all what would expect from Milwaukee gets hot and over heats drilling holes in wood can’t even get a 1.5” hole saw through a 2x4 without over heating I always have to go back to my 2gen m12 hammer drill if I really want to not have to wait for my drill to cool down every couple of seconds. Very poor design and not just a my tool problem my son has the same problem with his as does one of my employees

No, I do not recommend this product.

This one was missing grease...

Let me start off with I had this exact drill I used for years and then all my tools got stolen out of my truck and I just recently re-bought everything back again including the M12 Hammer Drill. Well. When I first used it it sounded loud! Way louder than it needed to be and had a scrubbing noise. I decided to see what the issue was and I found no grease in the transmission. Luckily no damage was done before I caught this.

Yes, I recommend this product.
