This is not a compressor. It is a great inflator
4 years ago
I bought one was so happy with it bought a second. This is small compact inflator perfect for when I come out end of the day to a flat tire. Easily fills my truck tire. Is this a compressor ...NO. Is it meant to fill your 12 ply 35 or larger 100 psi tire. No it is not. For that I have a compressor
If your looking for a simple to use tire inflator you can put an m12 in and leave it in your truck or family mini van to help get to the tire store in an emergency this is it.
Looking to air up after a day of rock crawling or inflate the flat 5 ton tire not the right tool.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great for smaller tires and passenger tires.
I use this tool all the time to fill tires in my fleet of aircraft ground service equipment. It works great with smaller tires and passenger tires for cars, but I wouldn't really bother using it for light truck and certainly not heavy truck tires. Unit isn't even worth using with a CP2.0 battery, you need to use at least a 4.0. I am on my second one, my first one failed after trying to inflate light truck tires to 80PSI. Unit overheated before the thermal protection kicked in and would no longer build any pressure. Sent in for warranty repairs and was sent a brand new one.

First impression
Just purchased this to have while traveling. Had an opportunity to use it to inflate tire on a car we use infrequently. TPMS said tire was low. Connected the compressor showed the current pressure was 19 psi. Set the target pressure at 35 psi and hit the inflate button. In less than 2 minutes the tire was at 35 psi and pump stopped automatically. Was happy to see there is also a presta valve adapter included. The secure threaded connection to the stem is awesome too. No need to hold a leaky air chuck against the valve stem. Tempted to buy another one for my other vehicle.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Outstanding motorcycle tool!
A great tool for motorcycle tires. Flexible hose will thread through the most torturous paths of brake discs, pulleys, mufflers and spokes. The auto-inflate feature makes motorcycle tire checks immensely easier, which means they will get done more often. Small enough to carry on a bike trip. Other reviews have mentioned that the auto inflate shuts off prematurely...this seems to happen on low-volume tires or if the hose is bent on the tight side...just wait a few seconds and if the indicated pressure sinks, just start again and maybe 2 or 3 times it will be done.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Best Compact Inflator To-Date
This compact inflator has serviced my needs for over 3 years. Gave my original to my son and purchased a 2nd unit. YouTube reviews lists the M12 as one of the most accurate pressure readers. I use it atleast once a week for topping/checking the pressure for three vehicles. The operation is simple; the buttons are large and few in number; the readout has large clear fonts; the hose is attached so storage is a simple two-wrap and lock; and more.
What would improve this product? A quality storage bag large enough for the unit, battery charger, and two batteries.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Its small and the battery last for many tire fills. But it registers 3.0 psi before i even attach it to the tire. And i have to target it 3.0 psi over what i want. It is also a little flakey about the cutoff level. Kind of a hit/miss. I need to check it with a manual tire gauge to actually get what i need. The screw off connector is a pain as well when you want an accurate pressure. Gotta be quick screwing. Maybe there should have been an adapter for the usual bike pump type quick release fill clamp. I do hope i find a way to calibrate the base value somehow.

works fine, but the device is not perfect

Being that the inflator is 12 volt and I would think that a common use would be vehicle tires. Since most vehicles have 12volt power available you would think that having an adapter to plug into the battery slot for power instead of having to rely solely on M12 batteries would be common sense.
Other than that the inflator is good. I do like the digital display and that you can set to a desired pressure to shutoff. The price of the inflator is a little much for what it is, and I would like to see a longer than 3 year warranty for its price point.

Worked good. Sound changed and stopped working
4 years ago
I have become quite a Milwaukee fan over the past few years. I really wanted to like this product, compact, great features and runs off 12V battery. So I gave it a shot.
The first one semi inflated my truck tire, then began making a burning smell and stopped inflating tire(was still running). I couldn't take it back past return date. Sent to service center and it was replaced.
The second one I began pumping up another tire and then it made a different noise and also stopped inflating.. Guess I'll try to send it in to the service center again.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Compact and Quick
Having just received the inflator today... I filled my 80 PSI bike tires in less than 30 seconds each. Both tires had less than 2 lbs of air in them. From there, I went to my car tires, and deflated them by 3 psi. It took less than 15 seconds a tire to bring them back to 34 PSI. Having this Milwaukee inflator sure beats using my 10 gallon compressor for a quick tire check and fill. Also, I compared the results with two tire gauges that I would normally use. I don't think I'll need the gauges anymore. This is another great product from Milwaukee.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I didn't buy this inflator to air up my truck tires nor did I buy it to air up my car tires! I have bigger air compressor for that. I bought this M12 inflator to keep my lawn tractor tires at equal balance and also my airplane tires!!!! I love the simplicity of this Milwaukee tool!!! Screw hose onto tire valve stem, set your desired pressure and turn it on. It cuts off automatically when desired pressure is reached. It can't get no easier than that!!! I just live this little tool. It does exactly what it was built for!!! Thanks Milwaukee!!!!!

I have a power equipment service company and used there to inflate tires. I have had 4 of these and none of them has operated correctly. I returned 2 and they eventually replaced them with new ones which also had the same problems. They all have the same issue, suddenly the reading that shows what the tire is inflate to jumps to any random high number and the inflator usually shuts off. Sometimes it will over inflate and keep running. I have tried different batteries and ways of turning it on and nothing helps. I have 2 now that I can't use.

This inflator has Chutzpah! Just use ear plugs.
Overall, I think that this inflator is a good product. I purchased this as part of the Milwaukee M12 kit (miln2463-21rs) that inclused the Impact Wrench and a set of 3/8 metric socket set.
Just tried this out this morning to fill the tires in my wife's car. I like the digital readout that provides current pressure and then you can set the desired fill to pressure. Depressing the same "check pressure" button starts the compressor. As my title expresses, this unit is loud. I'm comparing this to my 12VDC corded VIAIR unit that is awesome by the way. You can barely tell the VIAIR unit is running most times. If you decide to buy this Milwaukee unit, just be prepared for it to be loud. Functionality is great. Just like most Milwaukee tools I own.

Wheelchair users Rely on these, Super disappointed
3 months ago
I bought this to keep my wheelchair tires inflated properly at all times. It is a necessity for wheelchair users. Unfortunately a dog at the park grabbed the hose when I was filling a tire and bit a hole into hose. I have searched and searched for a replacement hose on your site and there dosent seem to be one. I paid allot for this inflator because it is Extremely important my wheelchair is my legs. To have it destroyed someone’s dog biting it Extremely frustrating. Why did I pay for Milwaukee quality if it can’t even be repaired.

Life Saver
The Milwaukee M12 Inflator is a definite necessity to have around. It is very good quality, and the battery seems to last forever. It has saved my wife and I countless times. You never know when you are going to pick up a piece of debris in a tire while commuting during your busy life. It puts one’s mind at ease knowing that you have it in your trunk for an emergency situation vs having to get the spare tire, jack, and lug wrench out for a lengthy tire change. My wife and I both carry one in our trunk for just that emergency.

Good product overall
I have owned and used this product for about 6 months and even recommended it to others. I mostly use it on passenger tires and motorcycle tires. I have used it even to seat the bead on a motorcycle tire. My only complaint is that the inflator now reads about 11 psi before hooking it up to the tire. So i have to calculate this difference each time which isn't a big deal. There is a process to "re-zero" or re calibrate the inflator but this has not worked. I should send it back but honestly love having it in my truck.

Tried filling up a couple low car tires. Did the first tire that was 5psi low up 44 psi. Second tire was at 14.5. Worked for a couple minutes then just shut off flashing the overload warning ⚠️. Now its dead. Lasted maybe, MAYBE 5 minutes. Now wont turn on and always flashes the warning even if not connected. What a piece of junk! Not worth taking to the Milwaukee repair place, its going right back to where i bought it. Milwaukee should be embarrassed by this product. Did no one test this at all??

Great handy tool with one small issue
I have to say that I really do enjoy having this tool handy on my service vehicle for all sorts of small jobs that need the pressure set where a hand pump would be agonizing. My only complaint with the unit that I have found no resource for is that the display has begun reading :2.5 psi when nothing is connected. I have not been able to find out if a calibration or adjustment can be done and when setting pressures on switched and sensor driven plumbing equipment I need to be sure the fill is right.

Worked ok till it died.

Worked great for the first year and a half. It got quiet the other day and stopped pumping air out. I couldn't air up a bicycle tire. I put the basketball needle on and could barely feel a slight breeze right next to the tip and that was it. Luckily I found my receipt because Milwaukee said according to the serial number, it was way out of the 3 year warranty. It overheated trying to pump a trailer tire from 50 to 80 psi and will only do 3 tires from 50 to 80 before the bigger 4.0 battery is dead.

Totally inaccurate
I purchased this pump a year or two ago, and I'm really happy with it. As an air pump, it fills up tires, air mattresses, and kiddie pools just fine; however, the gauge isn't even close to accurate. Mine has been 3-6 psi off, since day one. That's a huge amount, considering I'm mainly using it to fill car and motorcycle tires. It's not the end of the world, but it's annoying to have to figure out how many psi it's off, then adjust and fill my tires.
The accessories it came with are pretty cheap too, the presta valve adapter broke after 10 uses.
All in all, I'm seriously disappointed with this, I could have bought some cheap junk at the local auto parts store or big box store and saved $40 - at least then I'd have any excuse for having an inaccurate inflator with broken attachments.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Over heats with 60+ psi work loads.
This product is definitely worth the money and it might be the world’s fastest compact tire inflator but struggles/over heats while airing up any truck tire 60+ psi. If you had to top up all 4 tires to say 80 psi from say 65 psi. It would heat itself up enough from the work load to the point where increased wear/damage to the tool would occur. Do that enough times and you would get to the point where the tool would lose the ability to produce any work or much less efficient work. As mine did!

I was given this M12 Compact Inflator as a gift from family since they know I own several M12 and M18 tools. I have to say I am glad i did not buy this, it does well with several small tires. Did very well inflating kids pool, bikes, sports balls very fast and efficient. It did lack performance inflating my work truck from flat as a test, ended up taking out the compressor to complete the fill. In an emergency it will do wonders but will like to see an M18 model that's a little more skookum.

Total junk. Same problem with 4 of them.
Total junk. I have 2 and have had two others that were returned, all had the same problem. The inflator would start and often times the reading would suddenly jump to high random numbers, then usually stop with putting much air in the tire. I called Milwaukee and returned 2 and they were replaced. Now they are out of warranty so I would have to pay for a repair. I am not going to do that with the history I have had with these. DeWalt has a nice looking inflator. I think I will try that one.

as a trade professional with countless Milwaukee Tools, I purchased this inflator and it worked on heating system bladder tanks (12# settings) and also worked on domestic water system bladder tanks (60#-75# settings) but I tried to top off a light truck tire and that was the end of it. It actually lets whatever air is in the tires out. I'll see if Milwaukee will do a swap under warranty. But I will not ever pay for this inflator again. All other Milwaukee products M12 & M18 are outstanding.

Great little Pump...

I use this mostly for my bicycle tires but have also used it for my SUV tires... I own a few other Milwaukee tools and heated hoodie as well so I have plenty of batteries, the smaller ones don't last long but I also own a few larger ones, M12 XC6 and they do great... My only gripe is I wish it had a quick connect head or adapter so I don't have to screw it on, other than that it was still a smart/useful purchase for me... I only bought the tool, not the complete kit tho...

Great tool but definitely not heavy duty.
It’s a great product but needs a few improvements. This is actually the second one I have owned. The first one wore out after two years of light use. Made some nasty noises and stopped pumping. This second one is a little better. However the clip that holds the hose to the back broke off of this one real easy. This entire pump case could use a slight redesign. I’d suggest making it a little stronger and raising the price point a bit. Maybe coming out with a fuel version.

Love this inflator. Unfortunately, I got a flat tire on New Years eve and after plugging the hole in the tire, I got the inflator out of my car only to realize the valve in the end of the inflation hose was broken so I was unable to fill the tire with air. I would rate this 5 stars but I figured out that this cannot be repaired so now I need to buy another one. I'm so disappointed, this is one of my favorite Milwaukee tools that I own and I own a lot of Milwaukee stuff.

M12 inflator
This is my new best friend! Light weight take it any where. I’ve used it on everything from the semi to the yard cart. I’ve had it for a month. Changed it once right out the box. It’s still got two bars of battery life! I’ve aired up a semi tire 100 psi! Lawn mower tires, lawn cart tires, bike tires, atv tires, vehicle tires, kids bike tires, and even a pool raft. The light up display screen is nice for airing up stuff in the dark corners of the barn or after dark.

Works well and is well designed, but some flaws.
The size, power, quality are great, but some basic design flaws cause recurring annoyance.
First and foremost, especially because I purchased this to pump bike tires, I don't want to have to screw the nipple onto the valve every time I use it. I want to press, hold and release when full. Even a nipple lock would be satisfactory.
Secondly, most of our bikes use a Presta valve. The adapter included is cheap plastic and with almost every inflation, the rubber o ring comes out or gets mangled.
Finally, every time you turn the power button on, the desired pressure setting resets to 0. That is ridiculous and lazy as far as the developers are concerned in that they don't want to take the time to develop a little energy store (like a cap or something) to retain power to the pcb.
Other than these issues, it's a great little machine.

Perfect tool for simple/small jobs
works great for smaller jobs. A car tire that's low, Lawn mower, bicycle, etc. Eats thru the smaller M12 battery fairly quickly but the larger one holds up decent. I bought it for having in the trailer for race day to dial in air pressures or throw in the trunk on a road trip and works great both of those. Have used it to top off the lawnmower tire in the shed and the airbag system on my pickup for towing. Great investment for a quick portable inflater.

Best Inflator Off Many I Owned IF USED AS INTENDED
4 years ago
I own several inflators, from air compressors to portable 120v units, to low psi high volume compressors to battery powered units. This Milwaukee Inflator is by far (5+ stars) very best by far to “maintain your tires” at the correct pressure and use AS INTENDED.
No... it won’t inflate your giant off-road tires from zero PSI, pump up all 18 tractor trailer tires or get you an 18-point buck at hunting season like some poor reviews would like you to think it should. It’s perfect though for the things it was specifically designed for such as: bringing all your car tires up by 1-5 psi when the cold weather hits or your yard equipment tires, etc... better then any other inflator.
Occasionally a low star review may have a valid point but most low stars for this product are because the owners use the product in ways it was not intended.
