• Ordinary teeth deliver either speed or durability. NAIL GUARD solves this trade-off with an aggressive pattern for faster cuts and a unique design that protects against tooth fracture.
• Ordinary tips bounce or skate on the work piece. FANG TIP ™ bites into the wood on first contact.
• A thicker, more rigid blade body resists fracturing and bending for maximum durability.
• The blade body reduces blade twisting for straighter, more accurate cuts.
• Matrix II bi-metal teeth for greater durability.

Still sharp
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love to do DIY projects around the house, and use alot of pallets for such use. When disassembling pallets, it's just easier to cut through board and nail if possible, and these carbide blades do the trick. Not only do they cut so well, they have shave lots of time of disassembling, and they are still just as sharp. After cutting through nails and boards, we still used the same blade to cut out our cat door in the wooden door leading to the garage. I am so thrilled with this mighty blade, and feel as if it will last a very long time. I would like to order a longer one for larger products, but am totally thrilled with this blade. Thank you!!

Best product for the money
Like many things Milwaukee does, quality is upper echelon. Not exactly the absolute best but impossible to beat for the money. The little bit of demo I do always has a Sawzall in it and the blades typically last the whole job ( unless I happen in which case nothing is safe). I've used Milwaukee tools for more than 20 years and even have the first Gen 18v batteries that still work. Only once have a regretted a Milwaukee purchase. That was an error on my part. Every other tool I've purchased has paid for itself and makes total sense to own.

The AX Sawzall blade
We work on old houses and install pre-hung doors, it’s a lot easier to cut out the jambs and remove everything. We used the AX on the last job, even using our small cordless sawzall it cut threw everything with no problems. Not sure if we would kill the blade I just cut threw the nails with no problem and back into wood like nothing changed. Great blade worked like a champ. Again the size was great, longer blades have a way of getting caught up and bending.

It will cut
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this as a sample try out. As a contractor we do a lot of demo and the true test of this type of blade is how long it will last. I try not to cut nails with it to make it last long but it will cut right trough a nail. A real test is how fast it will cut through the nail, like a 16p framing nail especially if your in an awkward position. It does the job. It lasted for about two jobs which is typical for a demo job. I would buy the this blade again.

What is your time worth
While demoing a kitchen with my Hackzall I used both a regular “wood with nails” blade and the AX with carbide teeth “nail embedded wood” blade. AX pros- sharpness lasts longer so less blade switching, stiffer blade so it doesn’t get bent out of shape making them useless like thinner blades, and the fang tooth on the tip of the blade. Cons- none. Some will say the price is too much but you get what you pay for. What is your time worth to you.

Fantastic upgrade for mixed materials demo
2 years ago
Ok, so this carbide tipped blade replaced some cheap blades I had on my Sawzall. I was going through demo of old 1940s construction with lots of nails and assorted junk in the wood. My old blades were smoking, wearing to nubs, and chugging through batteries. Swapping to this blade made a huge difference in the project. Just given the time and effort savings I think I am sold on these for future work. Time to rotate the blades in my packout.

Rockstar for Ripping through Boards
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We engaged in a major project this weekend in replacing the surface boards of our 18 x 18 deck. The SAWZALL® The AX™ 5 TPI 9" Carbide Blade performed like a champ, ripping through boards and especially nails effortlessly. I wasn’t sure how long it would last before getting dull but it continued to cut all day. We’ve used many different blades in our reciprocating saw in the past but none were as dependable as this gem from Milwaukee.

Like a hot knife through butter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked this blade to destroy some old furniture for a burn pile. The year had not been kind to a soft, loveseat and china cabinet that we just wanted gone. I didn't want to drag them outside and just light them up so I thought I'd break them down. Well that's easier said than done so cutting them up into manageable pieces was the only solution. This blade ripped through nails, screw and even some steel springs I forgot to remove. It's still sharp and cuts fine after dismantling all of those items. I think I'll tackle some stumps and large limbs next but for it to maintain a sharpness after all it's already done is amazing itself. I'm truly shocked and glad I chose the right blade. The price is extremely reasonable as I was expecting to pay double for a blade that could do it all. I am so pleased that it was just what I needed at a price less than I imagined.
