Great pin nailer but not perfect

This is a light weight pin nailer. It has a rear exhaust which is great...no more oil mist in the face. The no mar tips look great. I didn't see any marks on white cedar so it looked to do the job really well. It's tiny like very small which is great if you need that. It will dry fire which isn't great noting like missing nails in the mag and not knowing because who really checks the nail indicator box really. The only real issue I have is that the trigger seemed flimsy and had a lot of flex to it. The one I got was made in Taiwan which is a good thing I guess. Other than the trigger and it being able to dry fire it's hard to not absolutely love this nailer. It does what it's intended.

Lightweight, rear exhaust, easy to adjust nail dep

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was in May when I purchased the NP35A 23gauge pin nailer. I was building a banquette for my daughter in her dining area and needed a pin nailer or some very fine molding work I was doing. I went to Lowe's and shipped through the different nail guns and he never seen Metabo before and it made me remember the Metabo Power Grip I purchased over 12 years ago and how that tool has been so reliable and the batteries still hold a charge. It is the most handy tool for a bid variety of jobs, especially getting into right places. Sorry for getting off the main subject. The pin nailer worked perfectly for the fine nailing I had to do.

Excellent Pin Nailer

I own a 16 guage Senco finish nailer and an 18 guage Airy finish nailer. Neither tool was suitable for making picture frames. The Metabo pin nailer is perfect for the task. I have also discovered that it is good for pinning parts together while glue dries in projects that will be painted. The small holes made by the pin can be filled without leaving the dimple that is common when I use my 16 and 18 guage nailers. The only thing I find annoying is setting the depth of the pin by adjusting air pressure. I am sure that with time I will discover the optimal pressure and I will just set that pressure when I set the gun up.

Great pinner from the best in pneumatic guns

Metabo-HPT does it again with this 23ga micro pin nailer! I have used it to install crown molding and it was great for getting into tight corners and light enough to be easy to handle when overhead nailing. All of the nails sank to a decent depth and the holes are small enough that paint fills them with no need for filler. I am currently using the Metabo-HPT 23ga Micro pin nailer for building MDF cabinets and even when bonding 2 pieces of 3/4 MDF the pins are counter sunk enough to have no need for a punch, and MDF is a hard dense material. I have zero complaints and have as much confidence in this tool as I do my Hitachi framing nailer I have been using for 15 years.

Pinner is not what Hitachi claims

Returned my first pin nailer because the so called countersin k adjustable nosepiece did not work . the second pinner is no different. I cannot countersink the pins even a miniscule amount. Also the owners manual appears to have the instructions for adjustment backwards. Called customer service and they were useless. I don't think they even knew that hitachi made a pin nailer. I ended up grinding the tip of the nailer and now at least the pins are mostly flush with the surface of the wood with hardwood. With softwood the pinner leaves an obtrusive dent where the pins are driven. The price of the pinner was decent but not what I expected. Does not compare to the quality and performance of my other Hitachi tools.

Great except for the no mar tips are crap

I have bought several of these pin nailers and I Iove them. I install cabinets and use this nailer every day for hours at a time. I usually have to replace the driver about once a year, but that’s a small part. My only beef is with the new no-mar tips. They changed the material at some point to a harder rubber, which is great for durability, but the little nib it holds it in place, breaks off easily, sometimes they only last me an hour. There’s no other way for them to stay on, so you just have to trash them and get another. other than that it’s a great gun

You can "pin" your hopes on this nailer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this Pin Nailer to replace one purchased many years ago. I am strictly home handy guy, but have learned over the years than any job can be improved and be SAFER with the correct tool. You know a tool is safe when it encloses a pair of safety goggles! The tool, so far, has been flawless. Easy to operate, no real technical issues, and most of all reliable. This along with the metabo 18 gage nailer were, for me, a luxury purchase, but more than worth the price as past less expensive products have long since been the the recycle bin. I would highly recommend this product, not only for the professional, but especially for the home handy man who (i) need and enjoy the tool that makes any of my projects more professional!

I want to like it, I want it to work

I bought my 2nd 18v pin nailer after giving my original to a friend who needed one and I was in that giving mood. I had so much sucsr with the 1st one, I have no 2nd thought over purchasing another pinnailer. Boy oh boy! It's like day and night, the newer nailer just can't seem to get right, easiest nickname for this nailer Can't get right! This nailer will dry fire itself into oblivion, I'll reposition the pins making sure the red arrows are correct. Still hard to get a shot off. All this happened after I had such a great experience with the 1st one, so I might have gotten the 1 in a Million that seems sticky.. Do have a lot of other tools by MetaboHPT and all are great and priced way more reasonable for the same work as the Yellow/black & Red company tools.
