    Planting

    Plant lettuce in well-drained soil during the cool days of spring. For an early harvest, use a growth tunnel.

    Fertilization

    Add compost to the soil and fertilize with a vegetable garden fertilizer.

    Harvest

    Harvest mature leaves, starting with those on the outside. Ideally, harvest in the morning.
