Grow light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been planting for a while but this is my first grow light, and it has been working well so far! Doesn’t have a lot of heat output which means I can leave it on comfortably at home during the day. Sprouts have been growing nicely since they first came up. Definitely rotating my plants each day since I have a square seed starter. I did raise it up on a box on either side after 2 weeks because I have a few tall flower seedlings, and that has worked well so far. Only problem I could foresee is if you have a pet or kid who could bump it over since it is very light, but you could easily put something on the legs to steady it.

Perfect for a flat surface - which is exactly what I needed. The set up is SUPER easy, and after that, you just plug in and turn the switch. (and the cable for the plug is a decent length.) And it can easily be disassembled and folded up for easy storage. I've bought lighting system with bulbs similar to this one where the bulb had to be assembled, and it was very finicky with a high risk of breaking the bulb. This one is pre-installed, and I was thrilled that I didn't have to worry about that. It's not a big light, so it's not going to give a lot of coverage, but it's perfect if you only need it for a small area.

The full spectrum light is terrific! HOWEVER, can NOT use the stand. The plastic sleeves that the metal rods are suppose to be inserted sheared (crumbled in our hands). Three of the four brackets on the light and three of the four bracket inserts on the base sheared as we gently tried to assemble them. The brackets are poorly engineered, need to be "beefed up". The quality control on the metal rods diameter is totally suspect. Further, there is NO availability to hang the lights by any alternative method. Strings can hold light very precariously and is unstable and temporary at best.

The legs that come with the product keep the light way too high above the soil. I allowed my seedlings to grow for about a week before they started getting leggy. After that, I swapped them out for some newly planted seeds and lifted my starter tray to within about 2" of the light. This worked much better but as the seedlings grew I had to regularly adjust the height of the light because the light can burn the seedlings if they're too close. If you're looking for a good grow light, you can find an LED light for around the same price and it won't come with the headaches.

We have 4 of these lights to start our seedlings and They work great! The stand holds them at the right hieght for seedlings and then you turn the stands up and can hang them to raise them up another 6 inches. The negatives- cannot find the 24" T5 replacement bulb. The sticker on the light says you can connect several together just unable to find the cord that would facilitate that. If the two negatives could be addressed and linked in the details that would make it a 5 star rating!

I now have 5 of these, which I’ve collected over the past 3 years. They are not inexpensive, but they work, and work well. I much prefer them to LED’s. They give off a GENTLE heat, and my seedlings- everything from delphiniums to tomatoes, grow well and strong. They fit perfectly on our windowsills and I use Jiffy 12 pellet starters, which fit 2 under each light. I’m happy to see Ferry Morse sells replacement bulbs, though my originals are still going strong. Love these lights.

First time starting outdoor plants from seeds indoors, my first grow light. It's OK, but would be better if the plastic stands were each about 4" longer with holes every inch so that the light can be lowered closer to the seedlings, then raise as they get taller. As it is, I tried setting the seed tray on a box to raise it closer to the light, but the arc of the light shades directed most of the light to the middle of the tray.

I have one of your gro lights from a few years ago! It works perfectly! So i ordered another one of these Gro lights and the plug that connects into the light connection will not stay put and it falls out! No matter what you do, it doesnt work! So, you shipped me a replacement, this one a little better, but it falls out of the connection at the slightest movement! So, its apparent you guys have a issue with this Gro lite
