Greenhouse dome

I have several different commercial flats/trays for germinating seeds. I found myself needing 5 more domes for a special project so I bought these domes; I didn't need the tall ones or fancy ones with vents, etc. Just a basic dome, 2", for 1020 trays. Well, these covers MIGHT be a great fit for specific Jiffy trays, but they DO NOT fit snug on standard/commercial 1020 trays....they are a smidge too short. And so flimsy!! Very frustrating. Wasted money, wasted time. Plus, they crack/tear/split if you just glance at them wrong. For a $.99 (cents) these would be a questionable bargain if you don't mind messing with fitting, even for a Jiffy tray. But these are a joke...but not a funny one, for standard industry trays.

These domes a must have for me. Are they super sturdy, no. Do I reuse them every year, yes. I’ve had my domes for 3 years now and haven’t had to buy more. After I’m done with them for the season, I just nest them together inside a 1020 tray and there they wait for next season. I wouldn’t go a growing season without them.

I was pleased that these arrived so quickly. The plastic cover is not as sturdy as the ones the I’ve bought in past that came as a set with the bottom tray, so I was a little disappointed in that. One of the lids was crimped and unusable. Other than that, the service was very fast and I do appreciate that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good dome lid. Very thin plastic. I wish it was a little sturdier. They fit perfectly on the Jiffy 10x20 trays and also trays from a different manufacturer. Definetly helped the seeds stay warm, mosit and germinate quickly. Crystal clear plastic lets in all the light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The clear tray domes work ok (3/5). The domes are deformed slightly and bow out in the middle when placed atop seed trays, creating an airgap. None of the domes were cracked nor did they crack when separated.

Put several peat pots in it and when trying to pick it up it folds up and can't carry any weight. Ended up spilling all my pots on floor. Needs to be more sturdy.

Dome cover keeps seedlings moist. Easy to handle when watering. Used the same domes for 2 years and they still look like new.

They work but are really thin and won’t be good for more than a season unless you use and store them carefully.
