The new favorite

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat has been eating the same cat food for a while now because she's very picky and doesn't usually like to try new flavors. When this Iams cat food arrived, I mixed a small amount with her old food so she could ease into the new food. She ate a few pieces and then continued finding the rest of the Iams pieces in her bowl and ate the rest while leaving her old food for later. I was surprised. She definitely favored the Iams to her old food. I plan to share this story with my friends and family and continue to give my cat her new favorite.

Saved my cat!

My sweet kitty Dori was getting sick all the time. She had urinary tract infections, a blood infection, etc. She lost over a third of her body weight. After being on a special prescribed diet and improving her health some, we put her on this food in the hopes that she would continue improving and that it would strengthen her immunity. I'm happy to say she has not been sick in over a year. She gained all her weight back. She's energetic and playful again! I've got my sweet girl back and I truly believe that this food is keeping her well.

When I switched from my boring brand to Iams Proactive Health Adult Original with Chicken I didn't expect my finicky Cat to go crazy of his new food!Well...he went crazy over his new and delectable food! He even knocked the bag down to try and indulge in more than one meal! I felt good about giving him this new food because Iams is a great trustworthy brand. The plus side of this food is it's made with high quality protein and has the nutrients and antioxidants my Kitty needs!

My cat is back to eating again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 10 year old female cat, Daphne, who likes (ok LOVES) eating....she is on the chunky side! But the last bag of food I purchased was a lower quality brand of food that I bought due to convenience because we were out and need food ASAP and they didn't have my usual two high quality foods that I like to purchase (Iams is one of them!). And she has just not been eating the same and I was worried, but was hoping it was the food.....and low and behold I started giving her the Iams food and she is scarfing it right up! I am relieved that it was just the lower quality food that I bought and not her health. So it really does go to show that if you buy the better quality food it is not only better for your cats health, but they really do enjoy eating it more!

My cat loves IAMS

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat is a very picky cat. He hardly tries anything new and will refuse to eat if he doesn't like something (even if he seems to be hungry). He in fact is so picky that he refuses to drink water out of a bowl. The water needs to be coming fresh from the faucet of our kitchen sink.
When I poured him bowl of IAMS he ate if all up. I was so surprised. I was not expecting him to even touch it. He was very happy and I have been feeding him IAMS as his dry food ever since. He seems healthy, energetic, and very happy with his IAMS.

worked a minor miracle

I have a foster cat who came to me with horrible skin problems, flea bites, dull coat and generally unwell. He is massive at 17 lbs, possibly some main coon and he is poly dactyl. Iams food has changed his skin and coat. After a visit to the vet and strict instructions to feed Iams, Ernest is a new cat! He is playful and feels so much better. "time for your Iams" gets him running to his food bowl every time. He is vastly different now and with seven toes on each front paw, is capable of some major cat releated destruction.

The dry cat food bag opening/closure is awkward.

We are currently feeding a stray cat in our neighborhood your high quality food (we are considering adopting her), and she loves your product. She doesn't care that the bag opening/closure is awkward, but we, her three adult caregivers, think you need to redesign the bag because it is difficult to make a V to ensure all the pieces flow out instead of scattering. Once the bag is opened we fold it several times and use a clip to keep it fresh. We will continue to purchase your quality food but please consider my suggestion.

Our cats have lived exclusively on IAMS dry food since they were small kittens. Although one of them died last year, the cause was most likely a cancer and not related to nutrition, according to our vet. We think that the cats ate normal amounts and maintained good weight balances. We fed them twice a day, usually they left just a few crumbs in their dish. We've used each age range as they grew older. Our Vet suggests "Science Diet" or a proprietary food his clinic handles, but the IAMS varieties have worked fine for us.

Iams is helping our cats already!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our two cats have a tendency to overeat until they make themselves sick (one in particular does it all the time) however so far with the Iams cat food, they have not gotten ill at all, and we've been using this sample for 4 days thus far. I am really pleased with how they are feeling better and that they seem to be more playful as well. I am seriously considering switching to Iams if this trend continues. I am only giving it 4 stars at the moment, because I want to see how well the cats do throughout the rest of the bag.

She loved it and ate it up and sat by her bowel like she was already for more. I did go to the store and see how much it was and it wasn't more than my regular brand and this one was so much more healthier .After my cat enjoying IAMS so much. I will be switching her to this cat food. If your wanting to try another brand I would recommend you try this product your cat will love you for the switch.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free bag from Iams of their proactive formula. I right away started mixing it in with my cats regular food to transition. She picked through her bowl and only ate the Iams kibble and foo fooed her normal food. For a bit, I was worried she could get sick but did not. After, I just gave her the Iams without mixing.
Although healthy, my cat, a recent rescue is slightingly underweight. I have noticed she is filling out a lot and appears to be more playful.She has twice tried getting into the bag which forced me to get a airtight container for it. She never did this with her old brand.
So, my cat loves this and I am happy to continue to buy it for her. Quality ingredients and the cost is about the same as her old brand.
One thing,though. Her breath stinks now.

Good but attractive for neighbors cats

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Iams cat food is a a good option for your cat. Our cat seems to really like it but unfortunately so do the neighborhood cats. We have always fed our cat on our back porch and never really had a problem until we started giving him this. Apparently word must have gotten out to all the neighborhood cats because now they all are showing up for food. I guess this is a good thing for the cats because they love it. Thankfully it is a very large bag and will last for a good while even if other cats come to eat it as well.

My hedgehog like it alot. My cats they liked it but not as much as my hedgehog. I cant give it to my coutimondi due to it has to much protein. I also mixed it in with iams hair ball catfood and they eat it like their no diffrent kind in their. My dogs liked it to. A bag didnt last me to long. I went home and tryed it i deffinatly will be buying this again in the future.

Cats wont eat it anymore, I dont know what to do!!

I have been using this for over 20 years and my current male and female cats, both around 4 years old have ONLY eaten this food and have ALWAYS LOVED it. Now after buying over 6 different bags from 5 different stores I am convinced you guys have changed the formula. They REFUSE to eat it. I don't know what to do. I've been buying awful cheap stuff that they tolerate but they don't eat it like they used to eat this food. ALL my cats have always loved this iAms and NO OTHER flavor works. PLEASE PLEASE HELP

When I put down their dish with Iams Proactive Health (that I received from Iams), my cats ran to it immediately and began scarfing it down without the slightest hesitation. I figured they must have been really hungry since they always hesitate with new food, but I've fed them Iams plenty of times now and they still love it. I love it because it keeps them healthy and because THEY love it! If only everything were this simple with these kitties!

Favorite of a Stray...now our Pet

We have had our only cat for 5 1/2 years now. Our vet recommended Iams on the first visit. I have experimented once with another brand. Never again. He actually tries to leave the other brand in the bowl or flings it out piece by piece. If Leo could write a review, I'm sure he would say Iams 5 Stars! I have tried, I mean HE, has tried the Hairball formula, but he identifies with the Original. The Vet office labeled Leo as American Domestic Medium Hair, but we think he favors a runt Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest. So, there's some fur. He found us as a stray. As Leo ages, we may need to revisit the Hairball Formula. But I doubt we will try another brand. It's more important to see him enjoy the food in his bowl. And that's what it's all about, being honorable stewards to our pets.

It's a hit with my picky fur babies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cats are pretty bougie when it comes to dry food. We normally have to mix wet food with it, or they won't eat it. However, as soon as I opened the bag, as you can see from the photo, my big boy dived right in. My little girl took a few sniffs before deciding to join in. I love that it isn't heavily dyed, and it's the right size for both of my cats. I do believe we will switch to this brand, plus you get a lot for the price. Although we didn't purchase this bag, we like the price point for when we do.

She used to eat everything and anything I put in front of her, but since suffering a bout of irritable bowel she has given up, not only any and all dry food, but also has become very fussy about which canned food she will eat. She only wants chicken with gravy. Now I will say, after a few days she did nibble on the dry Iams one evening, which surprised the heck out of me. We will see what happens in the coming days.

The bag sat for a couple days unopened as I had just purchased a new bag of her food. She tore the bag open with food already in her bowl of her other brand. I was worried she would get sick but did not. She seems to enjoy this food more than other dry foods. I also like that I can get Iams at stores other than pet stores which saves time.

We have transitioned from a self feeder that was being refilled twice a week to one small scoop per day of the Iams. Joey loves the flavor and seems to be fuller quicker. I have noticed less mess in the litterbox as well which indicates to me that he is retaining more than he is excreting compared to cheaper brands of food. That alone impresses me! So when we received the Iams Proactive Adult Original With Chicken lets just say I thought, not going to work. Sorry Iams. Well guess who's wrong. Our cat LOVES this Iams Adult Proactive Original. She cannot seem to get enough and keeps eating over and over. We live in a very rural area and I am afraid that the mice are going to be happy that kitty isn't eating them.

They knew there was good stuff in there! I opened the bag and I was surrounded by all four of our cats. I mixed the proactive in with their regular food and when I came back to see if they liked it, they had picked through the old food and eaten only the iams! So far this food seems like a keeper and I like knowing that my kitties are getting all their nutrients.

My cat gives it two paws up

(The dry food was a mix of Iams mature dry food and a prescription kidney food.) I no longer needed the kidney food since the cat that needed it recently passed away. Anyway, he wasn't eating the food suddenly so I began to worry. Then I received the bag of Iams via BzzAgent (with everything going on, I had forgotten I had signed up for it), so I decided to give the Iams a try on its own. I am very glad to say that my cat started eating it immediately! It has now been about 2 weeks and he continues to eat his Iams daily. I am so happy because I noticed he had begun to lose a bit of weight. Apparently, he is a fan of the original chicken Iams, so I am DEFINITELY going to continue to buy this for him. Thanks, BzzAgent!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cats both older cats loved the Iams food. I have been using a different brand name for some time after I left Iams a while back. I have tried a lot of the higher end cat food with little difference this they seemed to like quiet a bit. I didn't notice any marked difference in their litter smell like you will if you go to something bad for them. Hairballs did not seem to come anymore frequently (one long hair cat). I will deferentially have to re-look at the Iams brand again.
