it was interesting to try
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] i recieved a free bag to try from IAMs so we slowly switched them off their normal food. and they knew it was different and played air hockey with the kibble from iams. after their bowl was filled with only iams they just batted it around and refused to eat it. the dog liked it but not my kitties. they revolted and broke into the fridge last night 4 and ate the leftover meatloaf from dinner. again they refused to eat the dry food. so i ducktaped the fridge shut when i went to bed. when i woke up there was iams kibble in my shoes, all 5 pairs.... wet soggy iams kibble. i am pretty sure they do not like iams dry food but the dog loved it and wont let me throw it out.

Our Kitties are CRAZY about this food!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So our bag of IAMS Proactive Health Adult Indoor Weight and Hairball Care arrived in the mail and the kitties were interested as soon as I pulled the bag out of the shipping box. I opened it and served immediately with the special measuring cup sent with the food. ALL our cats (we have 5) went straight for it and ate their portions voraciously. I can say they loved it so much that they didn't want their usual food for the rest of the day. We've been serving both foods (our usual brand) and the IAMS for several days now and the IAMS consistently get an empty bowl. The IAMS are definitely a huge hit with our 5 felines, which include two very picky eaters... Thumbs up!!

Great food for a Fussy Cat
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have 2 cats, Stewie and Trixie, we recently was given a bag of IAMS indoor cat weight and hairball control food to test by Bzzagent.com (a great website which sends you stuff to test for free as long as you write a review such as this), SO we've fed both cats with this food and although Stewie isn't at all fussy about what he eats, we often find that Trixie can be a pain in the butt and changes her mind every other day, it's only been a week in testing it so it's hard to judge the weight loss part of this food at the moment, but she's been gobbling this down all week with no signs of wanting something else to eat.

This food doesn't completely eliminate hairballs but it does somewhat help prevent them. My cat has a sensitive stomach and the food doesn't seem to upset her at all. She usually finishes her bowl completely each day and if she doesn't, it sitting out overnight doesn't make it stale. It's good food! I've never opened a bag to a bad surprise of something. I usually buy a large bag and open it into another container for easier storage. If I had the chance to improve the product, I would make the tops or cases resealable somehow or easier to open and close after each use so buying another container wasn't necessary.

I thought it was just me/my cat!
My cat has recently stopped eating his food. And has been so hungry that he has started to eat our dog's food, which can be quite hazardous. I thought I bought my cat the wrong food until I started reading the reviews on this page! It wasn't me (yay!), but rather the change in the cat food formula/shape/size whathave you. While I'm glad I figured this out, this does not solve my problem. My cat has been eating dog food for over a month because of how much he now hates this cat food (that I've been giving him for 6+ years). This is so disheartening. I will have to find him different food, and somehow get him off of the dog food he's been eating just to nourish his appetite.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Cat enjoys possibly too much.
I've used this product for my cat for 5 years. He's always done very well with it as far as his coat and general health. But the battle of the bulge has been a constant battle. In order for him to stay at his healthy weight of 15 lbs. I can only give him 2/3 of a cup/day. He ritualizes feeding times morning and night and practically drives me crazy trying to get me to feed him. I just can't fathom how his metabolism can be this low. I don't give him scraps and we have no other pets for him to filch from. I'm going to try a wet food and try and figure out if he's actually starving (which by watching his weight, he can't be) or if he's just addicted to the dry cat food.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Excellent Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Cat Boris has been having a hard time with fur balls. We had to gradually switch him over to Iams. We are really happy with the results and it appears that so is Boris. We feed him both wet and dry food and normally he leaves the dry food and will eat it occasionally but I definitely see that I am filling his bowl a lot more often with dry food. We are very careful about what we feed our pets. I really appreciate that this food has a lot of essential nutrients that will keep our baby healthy and happy. Thank you IAMS for selecting us to take part in this test, we will definitely be using IAMS from now on.

So I just bought this bag about a week ago for my kitties and I was nervous about introducing them to a new brand and a new formula. They always tell you to mix some of the old with the new to slowly get them to accept the new food. Sadly I ran out of the old so fast, I couldn't. I put just this food into the bowl and my cats CLEARED the bowl of all of its contents!!! They never finish every bite of dry food, there is always a little left over for them to munch throughout the day, but there wasn't one kibble left!!!! It is more expensive than my usual but the health benefits and my babies happiness is worth it! Iams Proactive Health Indoor Weight And Hairball Care Dry Cat Food

Something has changed.

I know as stated in previous emails that you guys have only changed the size and shape of the kibble, but something is definitely off on the food. My cats usually gobble this stuff down, but the last to bags I've purchased they've been barely eating eating it. I find the food immediately thrown up a little bit later. I have two cats and they are both doing this. Nothing is wrong with them health wise, I thought maybe the first bag was bad so purchased a new bag and still the same results. I just wanted you all to know so that maybe you can look further into it, if more people are saying the same things.

A huge difference!
My cat had been vomiting up all the catfoods that I had tried. He was coughing up hairballs atleast once a day. After trying this catfood for anly a week there was a significant different in Jinx. He was more active, had no hairballs and no more vomiting after he would eat. It is a little costly compared to other brands, but the health and happiness of my cat is important to me. I have recommended this cat food to friends. Also as another reviewer put, I have seen a decrease in the smell of his litter box. It's truely amazing! I will never feed my cat anything else again. ( Unless the vet tells me too!)
Yes, I recommend this product.

She LOVES it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our kitty has been going crazy for her new food! At first I thought maybe the difference in taste was why, but after a week, she definitely prefers it. I still try to give her the other food, but she won't eat it, and waits for the IAMS. Our neighbors were over for the evening and thought it was soo cute, and of course I bzzed all about Iams to them, too. THey have a cat and said they'd be trying it, too. So far, our kitty hasn't thrown up at all either, and she is known to do that occasionally. 'll be bzzing many other friends who also have cats, as most also have problems with hair-balls coming up. Its a great thing when they don't do that!! Thanks Iams, and i'll keep you posted! :)

Just getting started
Just started my cat (who must lose 5 lbs) on Weight & Hairball. His reaction was "meh", but I plan to inform you how things go. I was unable to find the calorie count on the bag, and since I must watch his daily calorie intake, including treats, I was glad to see in in your website. I'd like to ask you to give us kcals per ounce (or 1/4 & 1/3 cup measures) on the bags. For those of us who are trying to be diligent, it would help. Also, I'd like your print to be larger, for those of us who don't want to carry a magnifier
to the store. Thank you! Since my kitty just got started, don't put too much credit on the survey. You didn't give me many middle-of-the-road response options.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Crunchy Goodness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat, Lucia is about 11 years old. He has wrestled with hairballs his whole life as he has long hair. We switched to this yummy cat food when the magic box arrived from Buzz Agent. I think Lucia could smell it before I even opened the box. I knew it was a winner that first day. I put it in front of him and he ate every morsel. He usually does not finish his whole bowl of food. He has been on this new food for about two weeks now and there hasn't been a hairball in sight. This is great news for me, Lucia, and our carpets. I will continue to serve him this food for everyone's sake. Thank you, Iams!

Mom And Cats Approve!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cat food seems perfectly targeted to my cats. Both are 4 yrs old, strictly indoors, on the plump side, and have those occasional hairball incidents (usually on the carpet!)
I have been feeding them this exclusively now for a few weeks and I think everyone is happy!
My cats devour it and not a single hairball mess has occurred! I wish I could also say they appear a bit more slim not I think that objective will take some more time.
I always have fed my cats Iams, but the original orange bag variety. They seem to enjoy this formula just as much, if not more, and Pro-Active Health appears to have more benefits suitable to my cats.
So far I am impressed and will purchase it in stores.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been feeding my cat IAMS PROACTIVE HEALTH Adult Indoor Weight Control & Hairball Care, and I’m really impressed! The formula has real chicken as the first ingredient, and it’s perfect for maintaining a healthy weight while also helping with hairball control. I love that it contains L-carnitine to support fat burning and digestion, plus it’s packed with essential vitamins and nutrients like vitamin E to boost immunity. My cat’s coat has never looked shinier, and she seems to love the taste. It’s great to know I’m giving her a nutritious meal that supports her overall health! Highly recommend!

Great product with quality ingredients to feet your fur family member.

I received Iams Proactive Health Indoor Weight & Hairball Managenent in exchange for an honest review. Well, my great grandkittie loves this food. Obviously for the taste, me... not so much. I like it for the fact that it is vet recommended (also from my vet too). The product is made in the USA from quality ingredients. How could you ask for anything more? Well, it also helps control his weight and there are no fillers in this prodict. I went out and bought other Iams flavors as it is now a new staple in our pet home. Thanks, Iams, for offering great products for the feline in our family.

Best for hairballs!
I have three cats, two are short hair, but one is a long hair. All cats get hairballs, but my long hair was having a lot of trouble. I’ve tried several cat foods that we’re supposed to be good for hairballs but they didn’t really help. I do the food because it’s just easier than giving them that messy stuff in a tube. After they were on this food, I noticed the poops (gross I know) in the litter box having mostly hair in them. :-D So, if you are having hairball problems, I highly recommend this food for your kitties. I haven’t had any trouble with my cats and they like the flavor of the food too.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Lenny the cat and IAMS
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat Lenny usually loves to eat any and everything we give him. When it comes to new cat foods he usually takes to them well and right away. When I introduced the IAMS proactive and health to him he didn't take we'll to it. I was quite surprised too. He would nibble here and there but he would walk away from it and look for something else instead. I've never had a picky cat but he was sure being picky about this one. I looked at the ingredient list and I liked what I had seen but Lenny the cat isn't too sure about it. I keep giving it to him and hope eventually he'll take a liking to them.

WOW She'll Actually EAT Iams Cat Food
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't believe it our cat, Miss Kitty who is 21 human years old actually likes Iams Dry Cat Food. It gives her everything that she needs for an aged cat. Usually after 2 or 3 days she won't eat it any more so we end up buying her different cat food.. With Iams she hasn't tired of the flavor and she is starting to look a little better. It is hard to find food for aged cats. Aged cats has special needs, which are different from younger cats. Iams provides for these special cats that live a long long life. Thank you Iams for this wonderful cat food for aged cats..Miss Kitty thanks you also. :)

Iams cat food
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a very picky cat. We have tried several cat food brands in hopes to help him with maintaining his weight. He is an inside cat so it is the typical lazy cat. We slowly switched him to the Iams cat food and we were very pleased to say that he actually liked it. I loved that we also got the scoop with the kit so we know exactly how much to feed him. He is responding very well to the switch and he isn't begging or laying by his bowl for more food, like he normally would with other brands. I feel like he is more satisfied with the Iams Cat Food. I love that Iams is a healthy choice of brands for our cat. I received this cat food from Iams and I will keep buying this cat food for my picky cat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our three kitties have been enjoying their new Iams hair ball formula cat food! Luna couldn't wait for us to open the bag, so she took it upon herself to get it opened! Lol! We were on vacation and she had a huge bowl of Iams original formula..... But she was apparently excited to try the new variety! My friend (who is house sitting for us) called to inform is that Luna had helped herself to the new bag by nibbling and scratching at it until the delicious kibble could be scored! I wish my friend had gotten a pic of the mess that ensued... Lol! But needless to say- the kibble is a hit! :)

Fussy cats even like it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cats are fussy eaters. Really fussy. I don’t know if it’s flavor or texture, but crunchy kibbles are the most difficult to get them to eat. So when this big bag of food showed up to test, I thought it was going to end up getting donated due to lack of interest. I decided to open up the bag after a day of interest by them both. They were very intrigued by the smell of the food and jumped right in to try it. It was a hit! I switch it up with another kibble do they don’t get bored with it. I’m happy with its ingredients, its formulation for indoor cats and its value. Very very pleased.

Finiky Kitties - but they seems to love Iams!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 15 year old kitty, who unfortunately is getting towards the end of his 9 lives. Its extremely sad. He is VERY picky when it comes to what he will eat these days, and he could use all of the nutrition possible. He literally weighs about 2lbs right now, from his origial 9.
Since I have been giving him Iams, he seems to have gained a little weight back, and is not throwing up much. (to put it nicely) -- I know this review may sound a bit sad and negative, however couldnt be more positive! Emmy loves Iams' and it has given him the best quality of life possible in his golden years.
I will continue to purchase Iams --
And on a bonus note, not only Emmy likes it, my 8 year old Sara likes it too --

I have been feeding my cats this food for 18 months and suddenly they both started throwing up and getting too thin. the older cat started using the rug instead of her litter box and was passing blood. Her fur was looking very patchy and she was bald in spots. the vet prescribed antibiotic and a change of food. immediately after changing to another brand of food, they are both looking much better. no vomiting, fur is growing back and the litter box is being used appropriately. They are much more active and social.
I think someone may have missed something in their product testing.

Bunkie18.5-Leo9.5
My first cat, Bunkie, (Flame Point Himalayan) lived his whole life, 18.5 years, on IAMS. A couple years after lost Bunkie, I was able to open my heart to a Seal Point Himalayan, Leo, who is now 9.5 years old. We just had a vet visit and he is the picture of health. I must also add that my cats always had/have dental care. Because it's gotten so expensive, I can only afford his dental care every three years. I still tribute their long lives to their food. I'm not sure if the formula has changed but Leo still loves his crunchies. Turns his nose up to soft food. I only buy the small bags because I feel it's fresher. I know I could save money by buying bigger bags but I'd rather be sure it's always fresh.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Sick Kitties
I have 4 indoor cats and have used Iams Indoor dry food for years. A week ago all four started being sick-- started by vomiting a few times and then diarrhea. the only common ground is the food. When I went on-line to look for recalls I noticed the reviews and how people were upset with the formulation change. Adding greens. I had not even noticed when I last purchased a bag of food because overall the bag looks the same. Several reviews complained of vomiting. Having four cats with diarrhea for over a week is not fun. Veterinary ordered sub cutaneous fluids, vitamin B injections, probiotics and prescription diet was needed to correct the situation. And of course, NOT feeding the new Iams formulation!
