5 years and still going strong
I have had this snow blower for over 5 years now and it is still doing the job I need it to... so I am having a hard time understanding so many bad reviews. I live British Colunbia, Canada, in a area well known for heavy snowfall years... on average we get 4.5 feet per year and my Husqvarna keeps going strong. I usually do my driveway (150 feet long) once I get about 4 inches... if you try to blow our heavy wet snow when it is 6 to 8 inches it takes too long... 3 to 4 inches is perfect in either 5 or 6th gear..... it has always started.... most times I use the electric start (I am 64 years old) but during power outages I use the pull start... it is easier to pulll start than my lawn mower! OK. Why only 4 star... well, one of the cables keeps freezing up, so every 2nd year I remove it, soak it in some kind of transmission fluid over night, put it back on and I'm good to go. And changing the belt on it for the first time was a little confusing (I changed the belts on year 3).... oh, to save time I recommend changing both belts at the same time because it is time consuming to split the machine for the process... but after you have done it once it is a very simple job... just don't get the belts mixed up (they are different lengths). The main reason for the 4 star is because it only has a one speed reverse.... a two speed would have got a 5 star.... it is WAY TOO SLOW!! So as I have said, my machine has worked harder than what most people will put their snow blowers through, but it has never let me down.... but I am very careful not to cut into hard frozen chunks of snow from the snow plow that goes by and I do not try to blow 12 inches of snow at once.... Finally, I must say that every time it snows and I come in side the house I tell my wife, "Hey, have I told you lately how much I love my snow blower!" I say that because up to 5 years ago I hand shovelled my driveway, turn-a-round, pathways, wood pile, around my School bus, etc.... so I love my Husqvarna snow blower with it's blowing power, heated handle bars, two bright lights, adjustable handle bars, power steering, easy and handy use of blowing the snow exactly where you want, and the electric start (and super easy pull start)!!
