Very pleased; does a great job
I bought this snowblower to deal with the winters in Appalachia and couldn't be more pleased. The first time out, about two months after I bought it, we got a heavy snow of two feet and the ST 227P did a fantastic job; it cleaned my driveway thoroughly and with ease. The only issue I had was getting use to coordinating the hand controls (steering, blower direction, etc) but had it mastered in a few minutes. Using the electric cord over the pull start option is a genuine blessing. After two years, it still starts easily, runs great and lives up to expectations. I only wish that the reverse was a little more powerful, but that's a minor issue.

I like this machine.
The first snowblower I ever owned. We got about 10" of semi wet snow for the first use. I was impressed at the ability of this machine to work through the snow. It took time for me to learn how to use it correctly, but after a few initial runs I had it figured out. If used properly and not trying to muscle it, I was very happy with the results. Like some reviews, I agree it would be good to have more discharge chute rotation. If it continues to operate the same way in the long haul, I will feel like it was a good investment. I couldn't rate reliability higher because it is still new. Based on what I know today I would buy again.

Awesome machine
I have been through almost one full season with this and absolutely love it. I was skeptical about the need for power steering but it is amazing. When crushing my sidewalk I can align it perfectly with a quick pull of the trigger. The speeds are great, and surprisingly fast. While the heated handles aren’t super hot, let’s be serious, it’s winter and you’re going to have gloves on. I have been the hero of the neighborhood. Snow plow driver put a bank in your driveway? This thing will eat right through it. Starts first pull with the choke and gets going right away. I have yet to clog it and have gone through some pretty gnarly stuff. Love the machine.

First Blower, Happy
Bought it Dec. 2014. Lots of snow that winter. Kept on truckin' through fluff and heavy wet stuff. Last year not too much snow, this year used 4 times so far. Ran over my barbecue tongs which haven't seemed to compromise it. The traction is not so great on steep slippery areas but I move it from side to side if it slips a bit and it bites. I think there are chains available. The chute could go another 10* either way but use your common sense to compensate. Blow house side first and any snow that doesn't make the bank will be picked up as you finish "away" side. I feel fortunate I have not had any belt issues. I am a 61 year old woman and find this machine a helpful tool.

Only Third Season it doesn't work
The first season the unit worked well except for one no start condition. After sitting 20 minutes it started and worked fine the rest of the winter. I am in Delaware so not getting multiple feet. Used it a couple of times.
The second Season the unit ran horribly. I only tried to use it once, then changed the spark plug and didn't have to use it again.
The third season I cleaned the carb, it still ran horrible, backfiring and sputtering and now the auger doesn't spin.
I use only the trufuel canned fule without ethanol since I bought it and run the fuel dry before storage. Also the heated handles have never worked. Wont buy a Husqvarna product again. This has been such a waste of money.

Super powerful, questionable quality
This is my third Winter with this machine. It starts up every time with no fuss, is very powerful, cleans right down to the ground.
I'm on my third set of belts, needing a fourth as I write this review. I do not have a large area to clear and do not generally deal with harsh conditions. Easy enough to replace, but it seems like they burn out way too quickly.
Other concerns include a chute that wiggles around as the machine works, and general cheap-feeling plastic parts.
ProsEasy to Start, Easy to Use, Easy to Maintain
ConsQuality Issues
Yes, I recommend this product.

Machine functions great but plastic console broken
5 years ago
My fourth year and have had to install yet another tension strap to solve broken console plastic that break in the cold. Every year something new cracks...I have steel straps holding the drive wire (limits speed to about 3), strap holding Shute rotation lever and it appears as though the console is disintegrating. Not too sure how long I can continue to use as the strap 'band aid' solutions w Chicken ill not last. Too bad, the machine works great.

Well built machine
Bought the st227 a couple months ago. Had more option than I was looking for but glad I have them. Easiest starting snowblower I've ever owned. Wouldn't waste my time with the other brands from lowes and walmart again. I have owned all different brands and Husqvarna hands down has been the better built and better quality machine. I own many Husqvarna products and won't mess with any other brand anymore.
