Feels cheaply made. Not on par with other equipment

I have used this for 1 and a half seasons now. It works well enough if you keep up with the snow. Living in NE Ohio I definitely can't let the snow get up past 6 inches before I go out. But that's not my big issue. There are metal parts at the bottom of the snowblower that are supposed to glide along the cement. Those have now broken on me 3 times. After 2-3 times of using it. I would expect a part that is at the front of the snowblower would be better made to take a beating. Overall, I would pass on this. The plastic design just isn't cut out for dragging along cement for an hour.

No, I do not recommend this product.

disappointed

Bought this at the local DIY store after long discussion with the salesperson regarding limitations of the product. Not having to worry about starting the blower and being easy to handle was a plus. I was aware it was not made to blow more than 6 inches of snow at a time and planned my use accordingly. Have only used it once before and took it out to use during the recent blizzard in the Northeast. Only 4 inches of snow on the ground I did 2 sweeps up and down my 75 ft driveway and the belt broke! Had to shovel the rest by hand and go out 2 more times....not what I expected

Works great for several seasons now.

I’ve owned this for a few seasons now. It has held up well and performed great. I was reluctant at first thinking that it was a plastic toy, but I was proven wrong. I use this snow blower for most of the snowfalls. My other big 10hp gas blower is only brought out for the biggest of blizzards. It is quiet for those early morning runs. The 2-amp hr battery is good enough for two driveways and the side walks. It charges full in the time that it takes me to clean off the cars and move them into the street. I can do a final pass to make it perfect. I recommend.

Really good with a minor shortcoming

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Everything is great! The battery lasts for three rounds of my 4 car driveway and it has enough power for my use. It's pretty easy to use as well even though I find the location of the safety button to be too far for my comfort. The only shortcoming is that they have not planned for its storage. I would have liked it better if the blade was metal though. The battery housing seems a tad flimsy but it does the job and protects the battery well. It could have had a better design to make it easier to store in warm seasons. Otherwise it is really good.

Great Performance in bad conditions

I used my 80V Snow Blower for the first time a day ago. I live in the NW suburbs of Chicago and we had 4 to 6 inch of snow that was wet and starting to freeze as the temperature began to fall below freezing. The 4 inches of wet slushy snow was easily remove and where ice was starting to form the blades cleaned it off the concrete surfaces. both my neighbors were out with their big heavy gas snow blower. I was done faster and with cleaner driveway and side walk. I was out for about 35 minuets and still had one green light lit on my battery.

Yes, I recommend this product.

puchased 80v 20" coreless in Oct,2021 used 1 time to clear 2" of snow-worked well, A week later turned it on ran for 15 minutes stopped working, Greenworks helped to find an authorized dealer to repair, took it to get repaired on Jan 17th Greenworks can't provide the correct parts or damage free parts to correct the problem. As of Feb 7th--blower still not fixed, waiting for parts that were damaged in shippment. Had 12" of snow 5 days ago, had no blower to remove snow. thought this was a good alternative to a gas blower-not so much. Cir

A couple of issues

Appears to be a good product and fairly well made. It worked well and through the snow much further than I thought it would. We have a large driveway and it cleared it on a single charge of the battery. Do not leave the snowblower outside for extended period of time in the cold weather as this will draw the battery down. Make sure you have a warm area to charge and store the battery. Service issue. I had to solve 2 issues myself, closest repair facility, that was submitted to me was over a 2 hour drive in one direction.

Yes, I recommend this product.

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE

Just purchased on-line from a major supplier one of these snow blowers. The unit arrived yesterday with several issues that were the fault of the supplier and not the fault of Greenworks. I contacted Customer Service at Greenworks and the person I talked to was extremely courteous and took time to discuss the issues and the details of the order. Even though the issues were not the fault of Greenworks they went out of their way to correct all of them. I can't comment yet on the snow blower but once we get a chance to use it I will. I just wanted to comment on the great customer service we received. We have several other products from Greenworks and have never had a problem with any of them. Great products and a great company to do business with.

Great for 3 years

I absolutely loved this snowblower for the first 3 years, then it developed an intermittent electrical problem that nobody seemed able to fix. I have no Greenworks repair facility near me, but did bring it to a lawn mower/equipment repair shop. While it was there it worked just fine. As soon as I brought it home nothing I could do would get it started. I believe there may be a loose connection. If I can get it started, it will conk out in a short time. I have 2 batteries, one is new and I keep the charger and batteries in my house. It makes me sad to report this since I have 2 Greenworks lawn mowers and a Greenworks string trimmer...all wonderful tools. It seems I have to purchase and new snow blower. I want to be sure this won't happen again.

Works well for 3-5" of snow

This product works well for 3-5" of snow. Can do almost a whole 900 sq ft driveway on one battery with 4" of snow. Once you get above 6" or with wet snow the thrower gets clogged or slow, but that is to be expected even with a gas model. Overall this is very quiet and well built. Battery charge takes about 5 minutes longer than it will run for (30 min charge vs 25 min run) so much better than the 1 hour - 4 hour charge options that are out there. Would give it five stars if it could take the higher capacity batteries available.

Yes, I recommend this product.

WORKS REALLY WELL!

Live in Ontario and can get a fair bit of snow. We have a driveway that's a little bit rough and quite long. Had previously used shovels to scoop snow off the driveway. Decided that as we were getting older we needed some help. We didn't want to get any gas or electric snowblowers. So this was just a thing. The 80 V model is excellent. It worked better than we thought. We can do the whole drive in about 20 or tops 25 minutes. If it really gets bad we can do two runs with a 30 minute charge. And it's light as well!

Halfway through winter and no problems

So far it’s been great. Recently went on vacation for a week and came back to about 6-8 inches of somewhat packed snow. Snowblower easily handled it, had to recharge about 2 times but that was expected after the reviews I read. My driveway can hold about 4-6 cars and it hasn’t had a problem completing it in one charge before when the snow wasn’t packed. Charger is also very quick so not waiting long when it needs a break. Shipping was quick and it was easy to assemble. So far it’s been great and no complaints.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not the cheapest but really good

I purchased this blower for my driveway and sidewalk. It is pretty good for that purpose and has handled the snow we had pretty well. The charger's fan is a little laud but after clearing a 4 car driveway only one of the lights goes off. The only problem I have with this is that the design doesn't make storing it easy. I wish it was easier to completely collapse the handle and stow it on the snow blower somewhere. I don't exactly like it that the blade is made of plastic. But it is a relly good machine

Beastly Performance

I got my GW 20" 80V snowthrower as a gift several years ago and use it for my patios here in Park City, Utah. Life at 7,000 feet includes long winters and lots of snow. Today I went out to blow 9" of new snow off of my driveway with my big two stage snowblower and it died right after I started. Broken auger cable and a LONG driveway with lots of snow. I'd never done a big snow removal with my GW 20" 80V Lithium battery powered snow thrower. It devoured the snow and saved the day. I'm a believer. GW stands behind their products too. I had a problem with a bad circuit board early on and they replaced it. The fix was easy and it's still operating perfectly several years later. I think shoppers should hear from real buyers and that is why I wrote this review. 5 stars and worth every penny!

Underpowered

I bought this hoping to replace my gas blowers. It was great that I didn't have to get gas/ replace spark plugs, change oil, etc. But the blower only threw the snow about 3 feet to the side. So I had to rethrow the snow further to clear off the driveway Also there is an odd design decision- to the sides of the auger, there is a flat vertical peice about 1" wide. This means as I was pushing into heavy snow, that area was just getting pushed forward instead of going into the auger. If they had angled the plastic there inward, it would have been easier to use. I would up using the 12" wide snow thrower more- it was able to launch even the heavy snow two stories high and 40 feet away with no problems. It would be good to see maybe a two stage using two of the 80v batteries, and a better intake.

I put this together by myself in the living room and it was easy. It is lightweight and easy for me to handle. I do my place and my mothers next door and there is a lot to do. Very pleased with the performance, much better than expected with the deep snow we have had. Didn't force it ,just took my time and it did a great job. 2 friends recommended this model to me for ease of use and the how well it worked. Love this and does great for my needs. Great customer service

Bought this snowblower in early December 2022. Sometime in early January the hitch pin came out of the chute handle and I lost the pin and the upper part of the chute handle somewhere in the snow. Took me a coupe of days to track down the information I needed for customer service, but once I did, they sent out replacement parts which arrived within a week. Snowblower has worked great. We had one 15 inch snow which was about the maximum height without doing multiple passes.

Shoveling Again :-(

Bought the blower (thrower) a few months ago...got our first snow overnight - 7-inches of dry snow (6 degrees out). Put the battery in, held the button and raised the safety bar and pushed slowly into the snow - got about 10 feet and it stopped. Backed off and repeated - as soon as it hit the snow this time it stopped. Made several more attempts with the same result. I hope there is an adjustable pressure/resistance setting some where. I'm dead in the (frozen) water.

I live in Jackson Hole,Wyoming (Ski town). There is lots of snow, November 2020 we have had 15 inches of snow all ready. I took out my new Greenworks 80V 20-Inch Cordless Snow Thrower and I finished my driveway in 15 minutes. Usually it takes me 35 minutes to clear my driveway. No more stress when it comes to moving snow at my house. The Greenworks snow Thrower is quick and easy. The 80V battery is easy to charge and the charge is enough to finish my driveway.

It was time and this was the right choice

I have been thinking I need a snowblower the last few years. I live in upstate NY. After falling in love with my Greenworks mower i figured this was the year. And then I got a 30" blizzard before i could order the blower. I ordered it the night after all the shoveling and before my muscles rendered me immobile for 24 hours. It arrived within days, but not before nature melted everything I hadn't shoveled. The next snow was 8" of the heavy wet stuff. It took a bit to figure it all out, all tools have a learning curve (like make sure your spouse isn't where the snow is shooting out and that it's way easier to push going down hill so take advantage of that. Anyway. I got the driveway done in record time and no ibuprofen needed. I never look forward to snow fall, but this blower helps me now face the forecasts with less fear.

Weak and battery drains in 5 min

I leave in southeast PA where we get a lot of wet snow - if any. I bought this last year in the fall to prepare for winter. My driveway is about 100' long and 10' wide and I thought this could handle it. First snow was 5" and this blower failed the test miserably. The 4ah battery drained in about 5 min of use and about 30 linear feet. Pushing this thing through the snow was like plowing a farm field by hand - it was a lot of work. Charging the battery takes about 40 min once you include the 15 min cool-down time they don't tell you about. Needless to say it was not going to work so I gave up and hired a plow guy for the rest of the winter. Cost me less than buying an extra battery (or the 6 I would need). I would also include that I have many Greenworks products - 40 volt line and power tools. This one is just terrible.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Greenworks 80volt line.

I purchased this recently I’ve only used it once so far and it has shown to be just as good as the rest of the 80volt line of tools. When I first bought my 80volt lawnmower I will say I was overly surprised at its performance, since then I have purchased just about everything green works offers in 80 volt and I’ll continue to do so!!! I’d give them more stars but that’s not available.Extremely satisfied with these tools keep up the good work Greenworks!!

Light, Little, but MIGHTY.

I received this about a month ago, and I was a little nervous about the performance of this product, as it is very light weight, and takes up very little space. Needless to say that I have been so pleased! Very easy to set up the handle to the blower. Battery charges easily and lasts long. The first time I used this there was about 3 inches of snow, it was so powerful that I started digging up stone from my driveway. This machine WANTS more snow. The second time I used it, there was about 6 inches of snow. This cleared my driveway in no time. It is like a power shovel! What would've taken me close to an hour took only about 15 min. My 8 year old even have fun helping. This machine is heavy duty enough to move some serious snow, but light and small enough that you could use this for walk ways or sidewalks. Definitely recommend.

Yes, I recommend this product.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) researched and then purchased the 80V Show Thrower with 2.0 batterty and charger. Wasn't sure if we would get snow this year ( Vancouver Island ) but we did get a good dump in February where I was able to test out my new toy. Worked better than I thought and sure saved my back from shoveling in previous years. 2.0 AMP battery was just right for our driveway and some of the neighbours. Not Reliable

I bought an 80V 2AMH snow thrower in early December and used it twice successfully. On the third use it shut off continuously and could not be used. Greenworks authorized a replacement at my retailer but I had the same trouble on first use. A second replacement (now my 3rd unit) was authorized and this one won't clear a 10' path without shutting off 4 or 5 times either and now it will not work at all. As a senior citizen I need something reliable.

A toy with bad skid plates

A bit of a let-down. I'd hoped this would match the power of my spare [REDACTED-CAN NOT MENTION ANY COMPETITOR] plug-in snowblower (This 80v Greenworks had maybe 1/2 of the power of [COMPETITOR] corded product). The real disappointment is a skid plate *wore out* after only two seasons of light use, causing it to "stick" to the driveway. This didn't even get much use as it's a secondary snow removal machine (primary is a normal 2-stage gas)

Dissapointed

I had high hopes for this snow blower. In my experience Greenworks makes a good product. I own the lawnmower and weed wacker both are excellent... but the snowblower could be improved greatly. At first it worked like a charm, used it 2x then 3rd time it did what so many other people have experienced.. it went for a few seconds then stopped. Battery was fully charged. It continues to short out. Had it 2 mths used it 2x bummer.

We are sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing. If the snow blower does not start remove the battery from snow blower. Place the battery on charger and charge for 10 minutes. Remove the battery from the charger and install the battery in the snow blower for use. The start-up issue may be caused from the battery being too cold. To avoid this issue, ensure battery is stored in a dry cool place for storage and charging and leave indoors until ready for use. If you are still experiencing difficulties with your unit, please contact us at info@greenworkstools.com so can go over some troubleshooting suggestions.

Then you look at your neighbors with gas powered and think what if I got gas powered. 3 FULLY CHARGED battery 80v 2ah lasted less 30 mnts. Brand new one. Needs important improvements. 4. GreenWorks Customer Care
Hello Pinhos Shlomo, Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate to read that you are not overly satisfied with this product. The depth at which it can clear snow will decrease as the snow gets heavier. It can clear heavier snow fall but may require additional steps such as clearing the chute and adjusting the chute to accommodate the snow. It may require more than one passing. It will also use up more battery runtime. If you find that you are still experiencing an issue, please submit an email using the customer contact page on our website or give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS).

Fantastic machine

I did a lot of research and wanted a cordless snow thrower that was not gas because of the weight. It's a fantastic machine, lightweight and easy to use. I've tried it on light fluffy snow and once with about 10 cm of heavier snow it did great job for both. The charger is a bit noisy from the fan in the rapid charger but it only takes about 30 minutes to charge so it's fine. I'd highly recommend. A real time saver.

Yes, I recommend this product.
