Snowblower, Battery, Cordless, 21"

Bought this blower last year and it worked good for maybe a couple times out. Then the drive belt broke and I am not able to find a replacement. DEWALT service has not been helpful, actually quite a frustrating experience. So, now it is just sitting on a shelf and I am looking at competitors. We do like our other DEWALT tools.

I have considered a snow blower for the last few years as I get close to 50 and my back gets worse every year after an hour or two of heavy shoveling. So with a severe snow storm warning for Alberta, Canada I decided to finally do it and bought this in November 2024. I have a double wide driveway to clear and I also clear the street in front of our house. I was able to complete this 3 times over 48 hours with fully charged batteries. I had a total snow of 20-30 cm (8-12in). I live in southern Alberta, Canada and we have a very dry climate and therefore the snow is normally dry and it is rare to get the heavy, wet snow of the great lake areas or on the coasts. The snow blower is very light as it is not a self-propelled unit which made it very easy to maneuver. It is also very quiet, similar to the Dewalt lawnmower, which I also own. The second time out was in the morning around 7am and I was very surprised that this snow blower was not much louder than my F-150 warming up. The head lights are great but will quickly become cover is snow and will have reduced or zero use. The partially powered chute is great to adjust quickly left to right. The vertical portion of the chute is manual but in reality I find this gets set to the height you want to throw and leave it unless you have a large snow bank to throw the snow over. The snow is thrown anywhere from 8-12 feet, depending upon the depth / volume of snow in the auger and the angle of the chute. For me this is has been worth every dollar. My back is feeling great, the time to complete my driveway and street is cut in half and I am not in a foul mood after the third time shoveling during a snow storm.
