Pocket Laser Distance Measurer - Atomic - 55'

Bought it a couple days ago. Was super excited to check it out. No more tape. But I take a couple measurements and start doing some math but my math isn't right. So I remeasure with my tape and I'm like wth it's like 1/4" off. Check recheck bla blah. Go to the owners manual and low and behold it's accuracy is always off by 1/4". Well not a deal breaker until I see the +- sign next to it. Be nice of it would be one or the other cause it's useless like that. Completely and utterly useless. So I gotta measure with my tape afterwards to get a correct measurement ? While I'm at it,I might as well resurrect my bent 4' level too aye? What's the diff +- 1/4" up or down on someone's deck? Looks good from my house huh

In addition to prior comments: -it’s ideal for taking measurements in dark places, e.g. unlit closets; the bright LCD display is a godsend -I’ve had this unit kicking around in a door of my car more than a year; it can take a bit of a beating -the variable readout adds to the device’s versatility

There is a small leaflet manual that comes with the product. The measurement displayed includes the length of instrument, so if you set it on the floor and pointed it to the ceiling it would give the full floor to ceiling distance. Very accurate.

We’re finishing our basement and this tool is a lifesaver. I’m impressed with the accuracy. I really like the size (small) and not bulky. Also the USB charging is wonderful and fast. I can see other opportunities for me using this.

This a great little device just what everybody needs in their pocket. The out of the box unit gave readings as per spec, but after a quick re-cal it was spot on. Note I am in UK not Canada, and in the Broadcast Ind.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] screen display doesn't work. tried to turn off and on many times and stilm wouldn't work. i cut the package in half to open because i was not planning on returning the item. very disappointed .

Owned this for 3 months worked fantastic when I first got it well now the laser doesn’t even light up anymore it’s so faint that it doesn’t register sadly

I sale industrial laundry equipment and need to measure concrete pads and equipment I do not have to be pin point accurate but it is good to know that the DW055 is very accurate I have double checked against a tape many times and it has been dead on every time. Hint :I carry post it notes in my computer bag for when I need to measure a flat surface such as across the face of a washer,just stick a post it on the end opposite from where you are measuring from and use the post it as your surface for the laser. This will also work on walls over 55’ just fold a post it at a 90 then stick it on the wall measure to the post it and write that number down then use your post it as your marker to measure the rest. This worked perfectly on the last job I did and I didn’t have to fight with a tape or need help holding or marking one end. The DW055 saves a lot of grief since occasionally I need to measure a large area and can’t find a place to hook a traditional tape on or in between equipment where hoses and cables run and a traditional tape gets hung up. But the thing I like best is I can measure with one hand and write it down without having to constantly find a place to put my note pad down while I measure then go back to my note pad. It may not take the place of a traditional tape on every job and it may not be ideal for everyone but for me it has a permanent place in my sales bag and gets more use than my tape does.
