Lightweight Circular Saw with Electric Brake - 7 1/4" - 15 A

It wasn't until I purchased this Circular Saw did I really understand what I was missing out on. Absolute power in my hands, not to mention an excellent grip that feels like it forms to my own hand. It's a very balanced and full of torque and power. I would highly recommend anyone to use this product and I'm so glad I finally went out and got one for myself to use on my home projects. An absolute gem! I also love the safety features for the break. You never know when the blade will lock up and then kick back. Good to know this feature will save lives and greatly reduce injuries!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first Dewalt Circular saw was an older model with the plastic shoe. I still have that one and use it often but like the upgrade to the aluminum shoe. This saw is very lightweight but durable, you can use it all day without dreading picking it up one more time. I've never had any issues with it cutting straight and when you set it at a certain depth or angle it stays put. There's plenty of power to get through any wood as long as you make sure to keep your blades sharp. Definitely recommend this product.

I bought this saw to replace my old Makita worm drive saw which is to heavy and worn. Lighter weight, sufficient power, I used it to rip an inch off 2x6, no problem, easy, no kickback. It’s reversed from the typical set up so that the wide foot is on the workpiece and the narrow part is on the waste but it might be difficult to use with a square at full depth. The setup makes sense.

I have this saw a little while now, also have a regular 575 that I call my “demo” saw. This one is for finer cuts and has 60 tooth finish blade. No resistance, cuts nice and straight and clean. Pretty low noise and brake works well. Brake is not instant like a battery saw, but stops quickly. Nice heavy cord and adjustments are solid and simple.

I am a 63 year old widow who maintains my home. I needed a good circular saw to cut Formica and was light enough that I could handle and feel comfortable with. This saw is amazing! I felt comfortable cutting the Formica and it turned out great. Thank you DeWalt for making a powerful lightweight saw that a woman can use easily.

Until today I thought this was a pretty good saw. I ripped a couple pieces of 2 X 8 and the saw is now ready for the trash bin. Past saws I had would have done this with ease. Apparently the armature went bad as I smelled something burning and noticed much sparking. I have used this saw very little and now its junk.

I finally broke down and decided to purchase a new circular saw. My old saw would bog down on long cuts, kickback and became an absolute hazard. The Dewalt cuts like a hot knife through butter! The action is smooth the guide and angle settings are accurate. I again have confidence in cutting a straight line!

The same would be 5* product if the main competitive feature - active break - would work reliably. Half the time the saw doesn't stop the blade. I could have had just as nice of a saw for hall the price without the active break. Also mine is Made in USA, but the quality is still poor.
