Flooring Knee Pads with Gel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently installed about 400 square foot of Bamboo flooring in a residential home. I had to remove existing carpet, re attach subfloor and nail and glue down the new flooring. So I spent about 4 days on my knees crawling around. Also constantly up and down. I was able to use the Dewalt gel pads and actually put them to the test. I have used many other pads over the past 40 + years in this business so at first I was not expecting too much difference. However, I was pleasantly surprised by these. The quick loop straps are a good option. They are easy to put on and off knees without the velcro strapping or slide on pads. Also they make it easy to wrap and store them for the next job keeping them in a set. I did not have any issues with them pulling on the back of my legs or tugging at my pants. The gel is a softer more forgiving surface making these very confortable. Actually once you put them on you just forget them and go about your work.The canvas material on the pads allows you to slide on the surface and not pull the pad off like a rubber pad does. I think this is a great item and do highly recommed it. I have been in the construction industry for 46 years and these old knees definaltey approve theses pads!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first glance the knee pads are just knee pads like any other. They are sold as flooring knee pads. Obviously they can be used for anything but they really hit the mark for flooring. I have had the knee pads for two weeks now and have truly grown to appreciate them. For flooring, the important aspect is a softer shell so as to not scratch the floor. These have that while also adding a bit of grip so your not just sliding everywhere. The face is flat which lessens the likely hood of your knee rolling around trying to stay on the knee pad. The straps are my biggest issue with any kneepad, however these are pretty decent, the material is soft enough not to irritate the skin to bad and when you get the adjustment of the tension on the straps right, they really don't bother me at all. Keeping the lower strap snug and the upper strap a bit looser seems to be the trick here. Upon arrival I was a little disappointed with the gel zone of the kneepad. There is plenty of gel to cushion anyone but there was no target area for the kneecap so it felt, at times, like my knee didn't know where to go. Now being 2 weeks in, they have broken in a bit and my knee has made just enough of an impression in the gel to land in the same spot everytime I kneel. So if 6ou get them allow a short break in period. I gave the 4 out of 5 stars because I'm reserving the fifth star for the kneepads that have straps that never bother me at all. They probably will never exist, and these may be the closest thing to it. Last thing to add is that the knee pads are soft and comfortable but still seem to be super durable.
