Nice light
I bought this light to work outside around the house. Love the whole concept for this light. It works great and the switch for the light settings is nice to help with battery life. The only thing I do not like is the design of the tripod legs. After a few times of use one of the legs have broke. I have managed to fix the leg but I am very careful with the light. For a portable light on job sites you should not have to be careful of breaking the legs. Overall I like the light but I am the only one who uses the light.

Expected more from Dewalt
I bought this light about three months ago I keep it in the back seat of my crew cab truck took it out today and the bracket that holds the leg pin in broke. Light will not stand on its own. I love all of my other Dewalt tools and I have many and in most cases several of many this light is by far the worst built of all my tools. So Dewalt if you read these please step up your quality control and built this light to with stand a construction site and at very least a back seat rides in a truck.

Nice bright and easy to carry
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first I thought it was too heavy but after using it I realized that makes it super stable on site, the 3 setting are nice, high is good for large areas or checking finishes. The DeWalt yellow legs keep people from kicking it over and it makes a nice holding basket when extended with the telescoping mount.
This will double as our powerless jobsite light as well as our emergency/ disaster lighting. I only wish it had power plug to work without a battery or to also be a battery charger.

Love Dewalt products but this one not
I have a good amount of Dewalt products and work with a guy who has all Rigid products and it is sort of a rivalry thing and when I seen this light one I needed a good light and two yup you guessed it another jab back at mr rigid, but sorry to say he won this one for you see the hinge is made of plastic and not the resin like the tough built boxes and they break easily, so easy some people find them broke right out of the box. This tool should be able to take a fall but it is unable to handle shipping in some cases. I took mine back right away for a full refund and may get a different light of Dewalts or the Milwaukee or yes the Rigid one for they are currently superior. Sorry Dewalt you failed big on this one and with the info I have read on this site and others it sounds like you are doing nothing.

Awesome work light
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought one of these lights today for a project we had which was going to run late. This light was bright enough to do detail work. We installed countertops, backsplash, did some touch up work all using just one of these lamps. 4 ah battery lasted between 2.5 and 3.5 hours on high. This light folds up into a little torpedo for travel too, seems really robust. Very stable light when setup. Much nicer to use this then to try and find places to hook, hang, or wedge other lights.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off if your not buying Dewalt then what are you buying? Now as for this light let me just put it out there. Best freaking light ever. You know those times when its so dark you think Dracula might pop out and get you? Well no worries this thing will light the zip code up and blind anything and everything. If you don't wanna see for a week just look directly into it. And the best part, its made in gosh darn freaking America

Best light ever BUT....
this lit up a 40 ftL X 10 ft W driveway that was pitch black. its light, compact, and with the 1 LED is the brightest ive ever seen or owned. HEERE IS THE BUT.... pressing the trigger with a flexvolt battery makes it impact the ground hard. Needs a spring to compensate, If this had come with a motion sensor setting or offered as an accessory so it can also be used a security light onsite it would go from 4 directly to 10 stars

Versatile and Bright
I bought this light over a year ago, I work in the auto industry, so it is no stranger to being exposed to all the elements. I have multiple 20v and 60v batteries so i plan accordingly. I have not had any issues with switches, LED's or hinges. It can drain through some of the smaller batteries on high setting. I just make sure to have a 60v that will give me extra power for the long projects at home, work or in between.

Bright and quick to setup!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This telescoping tripod light is a great complement to the other smaller 20V Max lights in my broad portfolio of DeWalt cordless tools. Very easy to setup and then subsequently extend the two telescoping sections. Three bridghtness settings and off through the sequential switch. Very compact when folded back up for the class of lighting this provides, and relatively easy to transport. Build quality looks superb at first glance.
The one option that would be nice to have been included would be a capability to run on AC power when available, albeit with the likely tradeoff to greater weight and cost for the added capability. As is, it's a good cost/performance balance and a fantastic addition to DeWalt's 20V lineup. GIven that I have over two dozen products in this family, I always have spare 20V and FlexVolt batteries around, so not an issue for me to run on batteries alone.

Great light
I love this light and would have given it 5 stars if it had the option of plugging it in. It is very well made and easy to set up. I got a little over 3 hours on high with a freshly charged 6ah battery, a little over 6 hours on medium and a little over 9 hours on low. Even on low it is plenty bright. A am a electrical contractor and bought this to use for service changes. Very nice light without much heat.

Poor workmanship
I bought this light expecting Dewalt quality and and got less then no name brand garbage. Two lights both broken tight out of the box. Both of them at the leg hinges, just like the rest of the negative reviews. I don’t know what’s worse, DeWalt allowing something this to ship in the first place, or their lack of action in resolving it. I am guessing they don’t care, which is really really disappointing.

Great light but a battery drainer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve used this light for a variety of projects. The light it throws out is awesome and the design is very efficient. The light extends and maneuvers where you need it to and folds up very easily. The only draw back I have found is it seems to drain a 20V battery fairly quickly and if your task takes awhile and you need the bright setting, make sure you have other batteries on hand to swap in.

One of the best accessories in the 20v max line
6 years ago
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this unit after a hurricane came through my area. With an extended downtime for the power grid, I wanted to reduce my reliance on the generator, and this item did the trick. I've since kept it on my site trailer for jobs and the ease of use is great. Plenty bright, reasonable runtime and a good value compared to the other market offerings from other tool brands and Pelican.

best investment I have made
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed extra light in my work shop because of limited electrical service in this room. the portability and brightness of this unit is great. I also have been changing ceiling fans for people and the fan was the only light in the room so bringing this light to those jobs has helped as well. and when I am painting shining the light along the wall helps in the wall prep.

The brightness of this light is outstanding!!
I bought this about a month ago and I have used it on both inside and outside work! It has been great for both, I have used it for drywalling and spray texturing where I was not able to keep a light attached to the ceiling, and I have also used it to finish concrete jobs up at night! It is usually the first tool out and the last tool put away!

Incredibly Handy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This light has come in so handy so many times! It is well worth the money and is so versatile. From hunting trips to backyards to jobsites this is works all around. I would recommend having larger batteries as spares for longer run times. The smaller batteries don’t last too long but if you already have the larger ones you’ll be all set!

Great light all around
I got this light as a present from my wife and i love it. it extends and tilts so it fully adjustable.
only downfall is lack of a power cord or built in charger. for longer jobs have your spare batteries on the charger i had 2 to 3 hours from the 5ah 20 volt battery so now i am looking into the flex volt tools for the larger batteries.

Lights up the job sight perfectly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this light a year ago and have had NO problems with it. I use at work in the backyard, camping and in power outages at home. The three brightness settings allow me to adjust the brightness for my needs. the portability is great works with 20 volt batteries or the flexvolt battery. like it enough to buy another one

Great Emergency Light
I’m a Fire Chief in a rural Tennessee town and bought two of these lights for our Crash/Rescue truck and have used them in training and they are great scene lights and even up close. Wish is had a 110v socket so we could hook to truck power when the batter runs low, but so far I rate it as a great light for emergency workers.

Great portable light
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve the light several months and it’s great. The tripod design keeps it steady and the LED light lasts for a couple days of use on the job site with the large 20v battery. The lamp head extends and turns to illuminate where ever light is needed. The three lightIng levels allow you to adjust the amount of light projected.

Brite enough
I needed some extra light while power washing daily. The unit lights up a large enough area to complete the spraying in about 1000sq feet. The light also flashed letting you know the battery is low. I usually run the battery for three solid hours on the brightest setting with no issues. Very light and easy to store away.

Must Have job site light
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This light is very lightweight considering it’s size. The battery life is good if you use 60V batteries. The brightness is amazing!! Has 3 light settings which come in handy to preserve battery when you don’t need as much light. I own 2 of them I use them so much. I have other Dewalt LED lights but this is my go to.

Great Light! Bright and durable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this light along with a large 20v max combo kit. This light works great when needing to light up a work area. I find it to be water resistant as well. Only downfall to this light vs the Milwaukee version is the DeWalt light does not have a connection for an extension cord and is only battery powered.

Essential tool
Bought this less than a week ago and honestly I've been putting this kind of purchase off for years due to cost, but I can admit that was a terrible mistake. This tool is as essential for anyone in the 20v/60v dewalt cordless line as a drill/impact. I am a electrician and hvac technician and often work in attics/crawls/basements where lighting or 120v power is at a premium and this is the perfect solution for all those environments and the easy portability makes me a huge fan of this purchase. I honestly don't even tripod it most of the time, I use it like a huge flashlight in attics and since it's LED I don't have to worry laying it down with insulation since there is no heat like all my other halogens.
I've made a lot of Dewalt purchases this last year and this one may be my #1 favorite one yet for how easy this makes life for me. As with other reviews the ONLY con to this item is no option for 120v plug power which would have seriously made this the best light in the category.

Can’t believe Dewalt disappointed me
Never thought I would have this awesome light. Love everything about it, with the exception that it doesn’t have an a/c option and the fact that it is BROKEN before I even used it!! Two of the three black hinges on the fold out legs are broken right out of the box!! What?!! Dewalt, any response?

Great light for projects!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Where I work we use lots of Dewalt tools. Our boss recently bought 3 of these lights for us. They are great for when you remodel a room because it can give you lots of bright light or you can turn it down to where you need it. They are compact and light weight even with a battery attached.

Breaks at the hinge for the legs
Bought first one yesterday. Checked it out in my living room. Hinge broke right away. Took it back and exchanged for another. Didn't even remove from the box. Same hinge broken in the same place. First Dewalt product where I've ever questioned the design. Would otherwise love it.

Good light for large area
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this light December 19 and have used it several times. It is good light to use on any job site. I do with the head rotated without having to move the whole tripod. I have not transported it much and seems you would want to use cation because of the thin plastic housing.

Good lighting and control, weak leg joint.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The light is good, works as it should and better than others I have used. However, the leg joints are overly complex leading them to be weak. One leg broke completely free of the unit the only way to salvage it was to build up epoxy and polymer to recreate the pivot point.

Good for tall spaces
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Light comes with great reach for taller rooms but, with just the single source of light it’s prone to creating shadows where you’re trying to work. Would be nice to see this updated with more and moveable sources of light as well as an option to cleanly defuse the light.
