Not a very good edger
Very difficult to use given it constantly stops when hitting thick grass and some dirt. I've had to do a pass on the highest level, then the next level, and then finally the lowest level, and still it bogs down. I'm using an upgraded Dewalt power pack battery, polymer pack, 5.0 Ah, so it's not a battery issue. I have quite a few Dewalt products, this is definitely not what I expected, it ranks below everything else. It also says that it was assembled in Mexico, but it was marked out with a black marker, yet I can see the wording in bright light. What's the concern here, that if we knew it wasn't assembled in the US we wouldn't buy it?

Good luck changing the blade
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this about a year and it was perfect for what I needed it for. Have all my outdoor tools with dewalt and love how the batteries interchange. Everything was great until I needed to change the blade. There is no stop to keep the blade from turning (have to use a block) and nothing in the manual telling if it is reverse thread or not. Tried chatting with support which was no help. I am assuming loosening it in the direction the blade goes is the way to go but with no luck. Nut blaster and heat guns have not helped. Can not find any information on which way to loosen the nut and I'm stuck with an edger I can't use.

Beautiful Edge
I bought this edger two months ago to replace a conventional manual edger that was worn out after 30 years of use. I have about 400 feet of driveway, curb and sidewalk edging to do every 2-3 weeks and have found this tool to manage the job with ease. I use the highest setting, so least depth of cut, and get a beautiful edge/grove with minimal effort from the tool. I share the battery with my DeWalt string trimmer and find that the two tools only drain the battery about halfway when combined. As such, the battery only needs to me charged once a month.

Great for maintaining edge, hard to create edge
9 months ago
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prior to this I'd used a string trimmer to edge my lawn, but I wanted that professional looking cut against my sidewalk. This edger does deliver a really nice line, however the first time you forge that line its a bit difficult. My edger did slowly make it but I had to do a bunch of back and forth motions to dig out the original trench. Dirt and grass would get stuck in the guard and have to be cleaned out periodically. Once that was done, each successive edging was easy. I also feel comfortable running this right along my sidewalk. After a year of work, it still performs well even though I often see sparks from getting as close as possible to the sidewalk.
Other than the initial cleanout, this edger is easy to use and low maintenance.

Trips overheat switch OR?
Based on looking @ product and social media reviews(false positive statements) I pchsed product. From the get go the tool the tool would trip over heat switch. After approx 12 uses the tool no longer works. Tried contacting dewalt warranty but no response, my guess is they don't honor Canadians because as soon as you enter area code you are cut off and email reply has got no response. I guess I will have to throw it in the land fill and go buy another tool that will be any buddy else's but dewalt!!
No, I do not recommend this product.

Worst Dewalt Tool I've Owned - Save Your Money
9 months ago
I purchased this last season for edging my small yard and have regretted it ever since. It worked well the first few times out but then started only working sporadically and will constantly stall out when being used and require me to regularly stop and restart the keep the blade spinning. Now to cap things off it’s time to change the blade and it is next to impossible to get things off. No directions on whether the bolt is attached cross threaded or normal and even after finding online forums telling you the direction to loosen the bolt won’t budge. I now have a very expensive paper weight. (And before thinking this is just a problem for me, do a quick Google search to see all of the other users with this same issue). I’ve been a Dewalt guy for a long time, but not sure how much longer after using this tool

Worked when it felt like it
I picked one of these up because I was tired of using my string trimmer to edge. I have had zero issues with any of my Dewalt tools so I didn't think twice when I bought this. It was junk right out of the box. It had a mind of its own. You could pull the trigger and nothing would happen. Some ti.es it would work with no problem. It was super frustrating. I just returned it and picked up a new one. Hopefully it was just a issue with that one and not all of them.
Yes, I recommend this product.
