Awesome First Cuts
Wow... I used it for 10 minutes and cut enough 4 foot length logs to fill the back of my truck. They took me an hour and a half to load into the truck. It went through those trees like butter. The battery still had 2 of the 3 power check LED's when I was done. It used about 3/4's of a full tank of the bar oil but bar oil is cheap... better than pushing a button to feed the oil when you think it needs it. I have a Poulin gas chainsaw and I had an electric for cutting close to home but this one can replace both of those. I just make sure I have an extra battery and a litre of bar oil and I'm good to go for a few hours of straight cutting. Good job DeWalt.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Amazing Saw
This is an amazing saw and I have been using chain saws for years. No pull starting no sparkplug. Just set it down and pick it up. If you have to use it in a tree to deliver or on a ladder this is a must have. I bought a 12ah batter it runs and runs and runs. Runs about the length of 1 bar oil refill. I love this for riding in my Polaris RZR or on my quad, the carb cannot flood cuz you don't ha e one as you go down the trail and come accords a downed tree. True with a 16" bar you can cut monster trees but you can build a quick bridge to get over it. I do agree keeping the sawdust from getting into the bar oil is a little difficult or it would have gotten 5*

Lineman review

I work power lines and often have to run chainsaws in cramped conditions with bulk gloves on. This thing delivers high power without the hard pull start and warm up of traditional gas.
Cutting up 6x6 arms and pills up to 26 inches thick all day, this last through 4 days of work or approximately 6 poles and 12 arms. More than enough for me.
4 stars for
Overall use
quite controlled power
Longevity
Durability (it takes a beating)
No spark so it's usable in high flame areas
Environmental friendliness-no gas , EPA guys love it
-1 star for
2 hand use- wish it was made in the sthil trimsaw style so I could easily one hand it and replace all my chainsaw needs

Light weight, robust, and cuts like a champ.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this after being a Stihl chainsaw user for a long time. I wanted to have a light duty chainsaw that I could run without ear protection around the house. The Flexvolt chainsaw has proved to be every bit as handy and rugged as my favorite Stihl Farm Boss chainsaw. The ability to just pick it up and use it without having to start it or leave it running is a game changer. The Oregon bar and chain cuts extremely well and a 9.0ah battery will last me multiple days of brush and light tree work.
I was skeptical about a cordless electric chainsaw but the Dewalt Flexvolt Chainsaw has made me a believer.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Best investment

I live in the middle of a ten acre forrest and have owned my chainsaw for about 3 months. I’m pretty sure that you can’t be any rougher on a tool than I have with this saw. I have used it more in 3 months than most people would in a couple of years. Its is so simple to use and maintain, it doesn’t leak chain lube all over like my other chainsaws. The battery life is great, I always take 2 freshly changed 60v batteries with me and usually by the time that I’m halfway through my second battery I’m too tired to cut anymore so the batteries last longer than me! No hassles of starting and stopping like you have with gas. This is my favorite chainsaw and would recommend to anyone, this thing is tough.

I am impressed
I thought electric chainsaws were a joke, however this one has proven itself. I bought it and immediately "torture tested" it on three large Longon trees. In one day it dropped and chopped up all the trunks (12 - 14 inches) and all the other largish limbs. Of course I had to go through several recharges. Adjusting or changing the chain is a breeze. The chain being a thinner one, it does tend to jump the bar more than a regular size chain. I love the saw, but the battery packs are very expensive (about half what the saw/battery/charger kit cost me) and I wish they were better priced.

DON'T BUY...Please don't buy!

Been a DeWalt fan for many years and will still purchase their tested tools in the future. Purchased this saw because of reputation of past purchases and their history for making great tools. Saw and battery create a strong tool for general use but chain adjustment system is horrible. Too much plastic and poor design to hold up to even casual residential use. Save yourself the frustrations and investment for another type saw. This is the only DeWalt tool that has ever let me down and generally a bad purchase choice considering the amount of cash invested to learn the true performance.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Easy to Use, Great Performance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago to assist in felling a few trees on my property. I had some hesitation but videos I had seen online convinced me to give the performance a try. I'm glad I did because it worked great. The saw had no issues taking down trees up to 12" in diameter on this pass. The saw didn't seem to lose power throughout the time I was using it (2 hours) and was very easy to handle due to the weight of the saw. The saw didn't feel cheaply made as some electric tools can. I'm happy I added this to my toolbox and looking forward to adding more of the 60V tools.
