This thing is a tiny Beast

I think I paid for this thing in Jan or Feb....and finally got it in April. As mad as I was, it was well worth the wait. This thing chews up wood and spits sawdust like an old Ma Deuce 50 caliber machine gun. To say it's bad to the bone is an understatement. I don't think they make a 1/4 inch router tool big enough to bog it down. Torque for days. I was making 1/2x1/2 rabbits on 6 foot boards full depth almost as fast as I could walk. It doesn't bog and it doesn't have that high pitch scream. That's win, win for any router. I waited to buy any accessories for it till I could see if I like it. I guess we are gonna give that old credit card a work out.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The yellow Wolverine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m Dana from Vancouver and 16 years ago from Cincinnati. I’ve owned Bosch, Porter Cable, Milwaukee and DeWalt in many platforms. This little monster is a beast. I own four of them and need a few more. One of these routers has performed almost 800 dado’s per floor of a 44 storey tower in Metrotown( Burnaby BC) with 1/4” double flute at a depth of 1/4 to 3/8” depending on my mood ,..🤣 The only complaint I have is that the body width is incompatible with router table lifts and inserts. Why reinvent the wheel? The dust collection insert is great. It took some time to fully understand DeWalt’ hose connections but I’ve got it down now. All said, 5 stars. 🤠

Yes, I recommend this product.

Fantastic trim router

This is a great little router. It is so much easier to rout long stretches of edges, perform template cutouts and other similar tasks when you don’t have a cord in your way. This little beast is every bit as good as the corded version, without the cord. It works best with FlexVolt batteries if you are doing heavier work, as they deliver more power without getting as hot. Use this tool for the purposes it was designed (trim router), and you will be very happy with it. Don’t try to use it to perform tasks that really should be done with a full size router with it. It is also perfect for toymaking, where the sizes of the pieces make larger routers more difficult to use.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Cordless is the ONLY way to go!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this Brushless Cordless Compact Router for my husband. This is the most recent purchase to add to our collection of DeWalt cordless tools. As soon as he received the router, out came the wood and he started testing it out. He loves it so much he has already built himself a router table. It's great the router is cordless so he can move the table anywhere for his many DIY projects. One of the best things about purchasing DeWalt is we already own other DeWalt cordless power tools so we didn't have to purchase another 20V battery. This allowed us to save money since the battery can be interchanged among the different tools. Christmas is coming, I wonder what DeWalt tool will be next on his list.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Best trim router ever made!

I bought this back in November 2020 after burning up 2 "Green" cordless routers (the tools my boss buys) and let me just say everything about this router is perfect. The ergonomics are just perfect where your hands just fall into place on the tool and button placement/adjustments are super easy love the way the depth is adjusted. Power is hands down amazing it last quite a while on 6ah batteries and just EATS through material like a corded router. Im a professional trim carpenter so I use it quite a bit for pretty much every task and I haven't ran into something it cant handle yet. 10/10 Dewalt nailed this one! The only tiny issue I can think of that would turn people away is its a tad expensive but trust me, totally worth it!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Small form factor, smooth powerful performance

I got tired of pulling my DeWalt 2.25-HP Variable Speed router off the router table to do table top work so I bought this little guy. I was going to get the corded one for price reasons but a sale made this one pretty attractive. I already had plenty of batteries so bare tool was fine. I run this with a 4 amp battery and have never had performance issues. The one thing I'd caution is operator related, not tool. Like with any routing, take small cuts if you're going deep. This is lighter than my 2.25 HP which means I have to be extra careful with guiding.

Really love this little guy!

I needed to make a table, for the kitchen, on which to put plants. Think "sofa" table to go by the window. Bought this, along with a Dewalt sander (see separate review) to be able to do the finishing touches. What a beast. Was able to do a nice, professional looking bevel on the table top! I have an old corded router, but they tend to be a bit unwieldy. This Dewalt router is just the trick for the DIYer. Couple that with the FlexVolt batteries and you are set. Easy change out of bits! Would highly recommend for the DIY woodworker!

Professional highend millworks/trim carpenter. This trim router is not really for the pro and more geared toward the home owner/hobbist or maybe a small shop. I did purchase a couple of these hoping to cut the cord and it is extremely more convenient than a plug in...however they dont last that long, 1 lasted 1 year of general use at millwork shop...1 lasted 1 1/2 years of moderate door mortising and trim edging in the field (kept in service van). Annoying creeping downwards is somewhat fixable by tightening clamp. No template base or guide not great either...can be bought online...balance ok compared to others....milwaukee, makita, rigid....so far the milwaukee is the only one still holding up....and has the best depth adjustment in my opinion.. .

Yes, I recommend this product.
