My first DeWalt

I have had three other cordless drills and have been using DeWalt cordless tools that belong to a good friend for about five years. I put the drill to use first thing out of the box installing cabinet doors. Impressive, and most of all the drill and driver bits didn’t wonder around at the tip as all of my previous cordless units have done. Love everything about the DCD771 - what took me so long. Recommend improvements are a better closure for the case (right off the case wouldn’t open because the zipper stick), maybe a level on the drill and driver, a clip to hold an accessory bit, and moving the LED from the screw gun further away from the chuck so as not to case a shadow.

Spent a couple weeks working with my cousin who had this same set. During fairly major kitchen and bath home improvement loved the performance of both drills. We were sure to always keep a battery on the charger so had only one point in dozens of hours of work where we ran out both batteries and had to take a beer break. Anyways, I was impressed enough that it went to the top of my Santa list and got the same set today from my wife. Looking forward to doing some projects without being tethered. If I'm not equally impressed after a few months I'll let you know.

Great combo for the home

I purchased these a couple years ago. The impact driver is a phenomenal tool! I have used it for everything from building a deck to building a doll house. I have used it regularly for the past 2 years and have never had an issue. The reason for the 4 stars is that the Drill did not hold up as well. It makes weird whirling sounds and doesn’t hold bits during usage. It works at times which is why the rating isn’t lower. However, if it wasn’t for the impact my rating would be significantly lower.

20V Impact/Driver Combo

Initially we had battery issues. But after some troubleshooting and purchasing a Turbo Charger, we called Dewalt Support who gave us great advice. a FULL 24 HOUR Charge on the initial Charge/Slow Charger. This seemed to work on the new batteries sent to me.
This Impact gun just KILLS 4" & 6" Lag bolt wood screws. The 1.3AH battery is great for a hobby dude, but i needed the 4 AH batteries and I am not sorry i spent the money.
I WILL BE BUYING more Impact Driver Guns. Best I have ever used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this set at a discount and was the best money I ever saved/spent. I use one of these drills if not both on a daily basis. The impact has strong enough torque to drive screws through the thickest and toughest materials that I have come across. Paired with the right bits, the 20volt drill makes holes in whatever I need it to. Including thicker metal. I cannot say enough good things about DeWALT and I have used drills from every other competitor.

Not as reliable as my previous 18V model

Bought this package at a great price last May...when using the impact driver it smelled at bit burnt...after another week of minimal use it just died. Brought it back & exchanged it for another brand new Kit. I have since been using weekly and one of my battery packs no longer charges. I will contact customer service warranty, hopefully they will replace it since it has not been 12 months yet?
Still I Love these tools and the Impact is light weight.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this almost a year now. I have used it on several projects. The impact will keep driving through anything. The drill is a great tool also. The only knock I have is that all of the batteries are shot. They worked well at first but have worn out in a year. I would like to have a hard case that come with it. I like the weight of compact batteries but I wish they would last longer. By longer, I mean longer lifespan.

Very durable and reliable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this set as replacement for a set that was stole from me and I’m so glad I did. The pieces are lightweight but incredibly durable and reliable. I use them almost every day for work and they have never failed to do the job I wanting them to do. The battery lasts for a amazing time even under heavy load and they charge quickly. I will be looking to Dewalt for more tools in this line to start converting my whole set.
