One of the hardiest tools out there

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned DeWALT tools for a long time. It has always been a brand that prided itself on excellence, and this impact is no exception. My personal impact has seen the installation of miles and miles of gutter troughs and downs, numerous framing applications, and other miscellaneous needs. It has taken no less than three falls from a roof onto concrete and it is still serving me. I haven’t treated it with kit gloves. Like me, it was there to get the job done. I have zero complaints, only great admiration and thankfulness to a company who makes tools that work as hard as I do.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great Performance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I had to replace my deck last year my friend arrived with this impact driver. After 30 minutes of watching him work I had to go out an buy my own to finish the job. This impact driver performed flawlessly when I had to replace most of the boards in my 12 x 28 deck—16 foot boards on a 45 degree angle. This tool made short work of installing not only the deck boards, it also allowed for easy installation of half a dozen header boards we had to add for support. This impact driver allowed us to easily secure the deck screws into the pressure treated lumber in short order.

Light, tough. Great tool!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quick change lock is superb, with the ability to just slide the bit in, without having to pull the collar out first. It's tough. I was using a competitor driver to drive 3 inch screws into wood deck planks, and had to put it down about a third of the way through the job to let the driver cool down. I finished the last 2 thirds of the job with this driver, and it was only mildly warm to the touch when I was done. And my arm noticed that not only was this tool much lighter than the other one I had used first, the trigger pull was also easier, so my arm didn't get nearly as fatigued by using this tool. And the screws went in quicker with this tool, as well. That one experience sold me on the quality and beneficial features of this tool. I highly recommend it.

So much more power!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a Habitat for Humanity affiliate, we build two to four new affordable homes a year. This year, thanks to the generous support of many, our tool budget allowed us to trade a rag-tag collection of power tools for all new DeWalt 20V Max devices. Our new Compact 1/4" impacts, 12 of them, are on the job three days a week. There is no comparison with our previous tools. These DeWalt Atomic 20V Max brushless impacts speed up our work and are safer, too. The ability to select any of three power levels is very handy, too, because sometimes you don't need all that power! WE also bought new 20V Max 6-1/2" circular saws, 20V Max Drills and multi-tools. We're so pleased with the performance from our 5Ah batteries, too. DeWalt makes a big difference to Habitat for Humanity. Thank you!

DCF809 impact

I bought this Dewalt, DCF809 impact because my other one was way too heavy. I have used it heavily for over a week now and have had no problems with this impact that I have noticed other people having. The power of this impact is just fine for what I do I do carpentry the quietness of this impact is way better than the previous impact that I had from a different maker. If I have any problems, I will write another review on this impact. Thank you again Dewalt for supplying a wonderful tool line.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Compact & Light Weight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a tool that performed well in any enviroment that wasn't going to cost me too much money. I work hard for my money and I expect the same from any tool I buy. I purchased this drill last week and I absolutely love how compact it is and its weight even with a 5 aH battery attached. The only improvement I can suggest is that it needs a bit holder designed for Dewalt bits as the bit base is not as long as other bits, on the back of the drill head where it says "BRUSHLESS MOTOR".

Yes, I recommend this product.

Tough, and love the automatic light feature

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this over a year ago and I absolutely love it. Always my go to tool for when I’m at work in landscape construction installing irrigation clocks or if I’m at home on the weekend working on my carpentry projects. Provides all the power I need in a very compact package. The light feature is very convenient especially in those very crammed awkwardly tight places where the sunlight does not reach.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good power, poor control

This tool has good power if the only thing you are doing is driving in screws. It could be a lot better if you could adjust the speed and power. There are many times when you want to only slowly twist out a screw, for fear of stripping the head or you want to go with less force and speed when putting in small machine screws. It is a good carpenter's tool, but not such a good mechanic's tool.

No, I do not recommend this product.
