20V MAX Pole Hedge Trimmer (Tool ONLY)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool is very handy from a corded version. It is very sharp from the start and goes through shrubs very good. Only complaint that keep it from 5 stars is the cutting head has a little wobble to it no matter which position it is in. It would be better if it was a tighter connection in the pivot point. Other than that it’s a great tool if you need to clean up your bushes.

Purchased unit and used immediately.this is very sharp.cut my hand pulling sheath off.lol.worked great.unit it rather heavy for an old man but did notice when I took out the 2ah battery and installed the 5ah battery it did help to balance unit.i have only used once but exceeded my expectations.appears to built of quality materials.as of this time I would highly recommend.

Love that it take my current batteries. Love the reach. Love that its cordless. Don't really get how the strap can and does help. I think its hard for women to hold onto since your forearm and bicep take a beating maybe if the strap was more in the middle to balance the unit I would have given it 5 stars.Would still recommend I just can't do all the bushes in one day.

I bought this trimmer to knock down infestation of blackberry bushes. I am not disappointed. It will run for 45 minutes on a charge. Battery charges in just under 2 hours. Limb size is as advertised; one inch in diameter. Takes a little time, but get through. Close limbs large limbs I could reach , quicker to use looper. Hard to reach big one, use the trimmer.

First thing I noticed is the 12 reach they talk about is a myth. Not sure what they are measuring. The two position on off switch is very awkward in the beginning. It takes getting used to. My latest problem is the unit will not start. I have to bring it to a service center. Also, it's not light. If you do a lot of reaching, think of another tool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this tool and no longer need a ladder to work on my 9 foot high bushes. This tool is perfect for reaching high bishes without a ladder. The only down side is working on waist high bushes/ shrubs. The head is a bit heavy while working on waist high bushes but other than that. I would highly recommend this tool.

I bought the hedge trimmer, it worked for two weeks, sent it to serve dept in Sacramento and have never heard back from them. I called no answer. I own the chain saw, and pole saw, I like the one battery concept. That is why I bought the trimmer, i just want this one replaced if I could get in contact with someone.

I hope the multi-adjusting head (Which is Great) does not wiggle more after years of service than it does now, being new. Note that the wiggle does not affect the performance of this tool. It cuts really well. I can reach my Arborvitae's which are about 10 ft. tall with NO Ladder. It does a very good job on my Hedges and Shrubs (Some 8 ft. tall with 3/4" branches) and again I do not need a Ladder. I really like this tool. Great Job DeWalt!!!! I got it on July 10,2024 and have used it for about 20 minutes after which time the battery still had two green lights on. This tool replaced a Craftsman 22" hedge trimmer that was 28 years old. I do not know if I will get 28 years of service with this DeWalt hedge trimmer since I am 70 years old. But I guess time will tell for me and this tool. Best of all I no longer have to get on a ladder and reach my arms out to trim the tops of my hedges and shrubs. A job that would take me about 2 to 3 hours now is done in about 30 minutes!!!! Great tool Dewalt !!!!!!

Given the unit a nice try out in my yard. Works well! However, I think the 1" cutting is optimistic. My experience is up to 5/8" on woody stems. Also note that "Up to 12' max reach" does NOT mean that the handle extends. It does not extend beyond its fixed 7' length.

When fully extended you will get a 12ft. reach is VERY inaccurate! This thing is only 7-feet long. It does NOT extend. How about just putting the total length OF THE TOOL ITSELF so I don't have to calculate whether a 5-foot or 7-foot man is holding it! UGH!

The info on this pole hedge trimmer is very misleading. They make it sound like you can extend it to a 12 ft. reach. In reality it is a fixed length of about 6 ft. and if you are 6 ft. tall holding it straight over your head , you can get to 12 ft.

Great for overhead work like grapevine pruning or lower work like ditchbank cutting. 20v Interchangeable batteries are the plus. No dropcords to catch or cut or limit you. Battery size is good counter weight. sheath is great bonus.

Why does the description say when fully extended it has a 12' reach. As far as I can see it does not extend. I just bought it yesterday but if it does not extend then I might return it. Can you explane why it says extendable?

Gets hot after I put in the second battery. Most likely to have been design to run as long as the battery (15 min.) meant for touch ups and light work. However it feels solid and has a good stroke on the blade

I just received my pole hedge trimmer, but to my disappointment it's not long enough. I was expecting it to come with a telescopic/extension pole. How can I get one?

I bought Hedge trimmer for the pivot head I use this on ground cover and head trimming . Hedge trimmer brakes down to fit in cab of truck

Works great for blackberry bushes and saplings. Fantastic customer service.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One thing I would like to mention before getting into the review is that in my honest opinion i do not think this tool was designed for heavy commercial use. However, if you are a home owner with lots of hedges and youre trimming them every so often or even if you have a few properties with hedges to trim this would be a great tool for the job so please keep that in mind when reading the remainder of the review. It is a dewalt brand tool obviously and in my experience you always get a great product from them. It is well built and designed for the most part, not extremely heavy, it has great reach, the angle is variable and is easy to change on the go. If you are already in the dewalt tool platform you obviously do not need to worry about run time although you will get a good hour or more of run time out of just one battery. I was also very impressed with how smooth the blades run. I would like to mention the breakdown and storage of it. The tool comes apart in the middle so it can be stored or carried in two relatively equal sized pieces and it could fit in the tool box of a truck fairly easy depending on the size of your tool box. It is also assembled back together very easily. Now, I would like to mention a con of the product. The blade head does have a lot of “play” or wiggle in it. When held out at a distance and shaken a little there is a significant amount of movement. Is this a problem? Most of the time I do not think so. For one thing, you arent going to be shaking it back and forth when cutting with it and the resistance the hedges put into the tool when cutting will keep it still. Also (as with any tool) practice and use over time will result in better or more even cuts. Overall I think this is a great tool for homeowners.
