    Cucumber: maintenance tips

    Easy to grow, the cucumber is a vegetable garden essential. Easy to care for, they can be grown in the ground or in pots.

    Common name: Cucumber

    Exposure

    Full sun, with 6 to 8 hours of sunshine a day for maximum yield.

    Watering

    Water when the first inch of soil is dry.

    Planting

    Sensitive to frost, they should be planted once all risk of frost has passed. Can crawl on the ground or climb trellises.

    Fertilization

    Fertilize one month after planting with a granular vegetable garden fertilizer.

    Harvest

    Harvest when cucumbers are large enough to eat.
