Easy installation/setup but…….

First, I am a big fan of Chamberlain products. They have served me well. However. The video keypad, although works great, in the battery power department is sorely lacking. There should be an option to hardwire the unit to constant power whereas the battery is there as backup power much as the garage door opener battery backup works. I would appreciate, from Chamberlain, the correct power supply data so that I could hardwire mine using a small transformer. Having an extra battery helps but is still a pain when they have to be swapped out every 3 or 4 days. I don’t think I can recommend this product until the power supply issue is resolved.

Bonjour, je suis distributeur de vos produits, je trouvais votre produit être une excellent ajout a vendre avec vos moteurs mais avec les nombreuses plaintes sur le fait que les batteries se décharge trop vite, je me vois mal offrir ce produit et dire aux clients désolé la compagnie n'a pas fait de tests sur leur produit avant la mise en marcher sur la durée de vie des batteries c'est pas normal d'offrir un produit que nous devons recharger les batterie pour avoir accès a l'ouverture de la porte et ce même si ca serait qu'une fois au deux mois. sortez vite une mise a jour de votre produit pour corriger la situation. . Works well most of the time.

The device records nice video and seems to pick up everything in its range. There are two things that need to be improved upon. 1) You need to be able to turn off the camera in the app. 2) It is only rated to work at -4 degrees or above. In below zero temperatures it will disconnect from the network and be useless. No video, no access to the garage. To get it to work again you have to remove the battery and reinstall it or reconnect the device to wi-fi through the app which also requires removing the device from the mounting. I have multiple cameras around the outside my house from simply safe and they do not shut down in below zero temps.

Hard wired power option needed

I recent purchased two video keypads for our home in Florida. The video keypad is a great product and concept, but the batteries need to be charged too often, and as a result, the video keypad is not a good option for homes that are only occupied part time. When the battery needs recharging and no one is home, the features of the keypad are lost. This is unacceptable for part time homes. MYQ must come out with a hard wired solution to be practical. As an example, my video keypads are at our home in Florida, but we’re in New Jersey now the holidays. The batteries are dead, so the keypads are useless until we return to Florida.

Excellent upgrade

It replaced my old school keypad, giving us vastly more control over who has access to the garage, smartphone push notifications on who is entering, ability to give out temp keys, and more. Great for the kids to use when getting home from school, we can literally see they made it home safe. Face and motion detection features are world class, helps extend battery for many months, battery is very easy to recharge, battery life notifications are perfect. The housing that the video keyboard mounts into has options for controlling viewing angle, because of this we have a full view of our driveway and street. Camera quality is excellent.

Could have been great

We have had this for a few months now. When it is working and charged it is good. The battery goes dead quickly. I think it should come with two batteries because it takes about 12 hours to fully charge. WiFi is an issue! I have moved my WiFi hub within 30 feet of the camera and have an extender/booster within 20 feet and continue to receive “disconnected” notifications. Overall I am disappointed with the vast differences in the claims of products abilities and the actual performance. I have 4 other WiFi cameras on my house that have no issues at all with connectivity, one that overlaps with the garage camera and is farther from the WiFi booster.

Battery life is atrocious.

Does what it needs, records motion and opens door etc. There are three major issues. 1: The battery life is atrocious. I live in a town house neighborhood so a lot of movement in area yes, but I’m charging this thing every 3 days at this point, a month in. Buying more batteries just causes more of a headache and they aren’t cheap. 2: The battery takes almost longer to charge than the battery last in the camera! 3: they don’t have a hard wire option? Why can’t this be like any other open station where i can try to get power from the operator? Wouldn’t buy again or recommend; might replace with ring or something similar

This could have been an excellent product!

The video keypad is like a first gen technology product! You have to make sure you set the notifications to the lowest level or the battery runs down quickly. To recharge the battery you have to take out the tiny security screw from the bottom, take the battery out and plug it in for hours to recharge. This is so archaic! You need to create a solar charger or a way to plug it in without taking it down and replacing the battery every time it needs a charge. The device is a few feet from a hub, but it never shows more that the lowest WiFi signal. Every other item in the garage shows a full WiFi signal. The concept is awesome, the product is very flawed!
