It's done!
My husband and I bought our new home almost 3 years ago. Our house was not a home, the walls were white and very boring. I knew how I wanted to decorate our house but there were several obstacles in the way. First of all I was scared to put holes in the wall. Second I didn't have the time at dedicate a full weekend to hanging pictures. The last obstacle was getting hanging pictures on the top of my husbands to do list. When I saw on tv how easy the command strips were to install, I didn't hesitate to run to the store! I was able to hang up all our pictures in one day with no holes in the walls, and now I can finally say, it's done!

Amazing for apartment living
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] **I received the Command Large Picture Hanging Strips for free from 3M in exchange for my honest review**
I am in love with the Command Large Picture Hanging Strips! They've worked wonders for hanging picture frames that I received for Christmas! They are perfect because I live in an apartment and don't want to make too many holes in the walls. I now have some awesome family photos prominently displayed in my living room and can move them from one place to another with ease and no need to worry about patching holes. The Command strips are easy to apply & remove, they don't peel the paint from the walls and my photos look great!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Very disappointed
We recently used the large command picture hanging strips. We hung three pictures and used four strips on each picture. Not even 24 hours later one of the pictures fell off the wall smashing a vase along the way. So after coming on here and reading these reviews we decided to remove the other pictures. While we were taking the other pictures down all of the strips were coming right off the wall with little effort. I am so very angry with your product, the money that I wasted on it, and that one of my favorite vases is broken. I must also say that we have used these strips in the past and have never had this problem. What is up 3M?
No, I do not recommend this product.

Best Strips
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since I recently moved into an apartment by myself I wanted to decorate it with pictures hanging from wall to wall. Problem was the landlord asked me not to make any holes on the walls. At first I thought, maybe if I just tape the pictures to the wall it will work. Well, that didn't work. It looked sloppy and not so "homey" feeling. I figured I had to do it some other way! Thankfully for me I found these Command Hanging Strips, and they saved my life and apartment! My pictures in their frames look perfectly and I am super happy that I didn't make any holes and that I can change them to another place without any damage being done.

No More Nails for Me !!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just downsized my home and moved into a great apartment. But I couldn't bear to part with many of my generations of family pictures. When I left my home- all the walls had nail holes. In my new home, everything- and I mean everything is up with Command hooks.Even heavy frames. Command hooks make it easier to attach to the frame, make it level, move it when you get a new picture, and of course take the hook off the wall!. They come in every size you could possibly need. They are wonderful in closets, pantries, bathrooms, etc. I don't ever want to leave my new home. But if I do, I won't ever have to worry about those nail holes.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Keeping our new home walls new with Command Strips
10 years ago
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After selling our condo we had so many holes to fill, sand over and paint. In our new home we are able to preserve our walls and keep them new by using COMMAND STRIPS to hang photographs, certificates and artwork.
For extra income we have been renting our guest room to local college students. We may have to replace the carpeting but we never have to fill holes or repaint walls. We simply remove the old strips when one person moves out and put up fresh strips to use to decorate the walls when the new person moves in.
These are awfully good for holiday decorations as well. No more pounding nails to hang holiday ornamentation!

Approached with skepticism - pleasantly surprised
13 years ago
We recently moved and having not put up many of our pictures in our last residence, we wanted a simple solution for hanging them and making it feel like home.
Both my wife and I initially scoffed that such small strips would securely hold medium to larger sized pictures in the 2-3lbs range and first tested it on a cheap frame that was somewhat heavy.
It passed the test with flying colors and we proceeded to mount 10+ of our pictures around our home. We even moved and reapplied a couple of them and they are still standing strong months later.
This is an excellent product for easy mounting of all sorts of pictures. It is strong, durable, and removes cleanly!

Great for Hanging Pictures
Several years ago, my daughter's university made us purchase Command products to apply things to her dorm room walls. Since then, I have continued to use Command products often. I've found them exceptionally easy to use and great for picture hanging. The velcro backing is easy to apply on the wall and the frames, and they really hold the pictures straight. No more adjusting crooked pictures in my home. I like the large ones for medium-sized pictures because I only need one per side. What's more, I can switch out my pictures that are similar in size, without removing the strips on the wall. All I do is add more strips to the other frames. It's a win-win for me!

Command picture hanging strips
I have used the small and medium command picture hanging strips. I had tried all kinds of stuff but the pictures kept falling off the wall. I was hanging collages and they were oak frames which made them very heavy.
I picked up some Command picture hanging strips (medium and small) and couldn't believe it-the pictures quit falling off the wall.
I like that you can buy them almost any where.
I will never use anything else.
It is so nice that I don't have to put nails in the walls anymore. The Command strips come right off, and there is no damage to your walls. Thanks Command Strips!
Sincerely a very satisfied customer.

Used to be great...
Having lived exclusively in rentals for the past several years, I have loved used Command strips and hooks since they are easily removable when moving out. However, in the past year or so, both the picture hanging strips and hook styles I've purchased have failed. Lightweight frames and lightly utilized hooks have both fallen off walls not long after application. The adhesive is much weaker than it used to be - so much so that you could run your finger over it without much tackiness at all. It seems that many other users are having the same issue. Unless the quality improves, I won't be purchasing any more Command products.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Hanging Pictures Without making Holes in the Wall
12 years ago
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently redecorated our home and my husband didn't want me to make holes in the wall by hanging pictures (he was really going for a minimalist approach for decorating!). I started hanging pictures of our grandchildren, works of art made by our grandchildren, and then graduated to hanging decorative pictures using the Command picture hanging strips. I found that when I wanted to change where I had hung a picture, there was no problem because the strip on the wall came right off. The part that truly surprised me was that my heavier framed pictures have been hanging without falling. This is truly a great invention and I would recommend these strips to everyone!

Happy customer

I have tried command strips and I am very happy and surprised of the results. I didn't think that they would hold some of the large picture in heavy frames I have. But to my surprise they hold great. I change my picture every football season. My noticial pictures come down and Foxboro Stadeum and Patriot player's go up. All I have to do is take down one picture, still using the same strip on the wall and leaving the command strip on the back of the frames and replacing that picture with another that still has a strip still attached from the last time I changed the pictures. So easy. And no holes in the walls. Thanks Command for making my life just a little easier.

Dangerous!!!

I bought 2x 7,2kg strips to hang a 60x90cm ligh weight canvas ( no more than 5kg). After couple of days as I was sitting on the floor and watching tv the picture fell on top of my head not only leaving me with huge bruise on my forehead but also damaging the wall ( I am renting), breaking my brand new birds of paradise plant and breaking the fame of the picture. My walls are clean, smooth and I followed the instructions on the packaging as I was putting it on the wall. I am extremely disappointed and definitely do not recommend them to anyone. I have used cheaper versions before and never had any issues. Waste of money!

I just moved into a new apartment and bought some Command strips to save the newly-painted walls from damage from nails. Everything I tried to hang--which were all under a pound each in weight--failed to stay on the walls with these strips! My shadowbox stayed on the wall for about an hour...??....then it fell onto the floor, along with my small figurines that I had for several years. The figurines shattered into a million pieces, and cannot be replaced! I will never buy any product from Command again in the future--and I feel the company should reimburse people who lost valuable items from the strips not working!
No, I do not recommend this product.

I cannot say enough about these products as someone who is in the process of moving back into a home that we moved out of a few years back I have gotten so many comments on how amazing my walls look not one spot anywhere I used these items all over my house and dont get me wrong my house was decorated in every available spot I can hang something it was there but when we moved I was able to remove everything that held it in place and no mess left behind.. and again the house we just moved out of was immaculate with no spots anywhere because the removal was as easy as the placement. I totally recommend these if you rent or own that way you are taking care of your walls.

Totally Amazing!!!!!!!
I work at a school, with brick walls, I was tired of using things on the walls that at the end of the year I had to scrape off the walls that left spots, and still didnt really work all that well.
I'd seen the command items but never really paid much attention to them, until I was in the need of a cork board. I remembered seeing command products on TV, so I went to check them out. I bought the picture strips, and fell in love with them. Was back at the store the next day to by hooks, for our intruder posters, for our windows, and door.
Thank you for some of the best useful products for so many different situations.

Very disappointed with this product. I had bought the smaller command strips at first since the picture I was hanging was barley a pound and ended up falling a few days later scuffing my walls. I attempted a second time with the same size strips this time using double to about of hooks and making sure all my walls were wiped clean, I had thought maybe that was the reason why it hadn't worked, but it had fallen again. I had then purchased these bigger strips supposed to hold 16lbs and with in a week that same picture had fallen again. The end result I should have just put a little nail whole in the wall, my wall is now all scuffed and my picture frame is all scratched up.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Apartment Friendly

This product is extremely practical for those whom live in Apartments or rental homes, you can add bits and pieces of your personal life in your decorating without having to "pay" for it later, buy having to either lose a deposit,(an expensive lesson learned) or attempt to fix filling in holes that are just as unsightly. I only wish these came in larger packs, you can advertise them as "Apartment packs", or "Move in packs" With an artist for a daughter I have adapted the regular "metal" hooks to bend them out a bit with pliers and they are perfect. Perhaps you could tailor some hooks for unframed canvas paintings like for schools and home alike. Great Products one and all!

Terrible
I used these heavy duty command strips to hand a mirrored clock. The clock weighed less than two pounds and stayed up for 2 days and fell in the middle of the night. I had to buy a new clock. I then again used 2 of the heavy duty command strips to hand a canvas painting that weighed less than 2 pounds. It hung on the wall for two months just fine, then last night in the middle of the night it fell off the wall ruining my picture and it also smashed into my AC unit and ruined that as well. So thank you for costing my hundreds of dollars in damage when all I wanted to do was prevent damage to my apartment walls.

Initially, they work great if you add more than recommended, even for lighter picture frames.
The problem i ran into was using them in an enclosed 3 season room. i had several pictures proudly hung, but extreme temperatures resulted in a few pictures falling.
i have since removed all frames and will resort to what i didnt want to do .. metal fasteners (screws, nail hangers etc)
It began during winter and very cold weather that i lost a few frames. But then i began losing more this summer.
The concept is good, but the R&D team should be testing the adhesive properties to accommodate extreme weather conditions.

I bought this product around 2 years ago and was very impressed, until the last 2 weeks. I was awoken in the middle of the night to a loud banging and smashing sound! I came downstairs to find 1 of my pictures on the floor with the frame broken and glass everywhere. I thought maybe one of the children had touched it and left it at that. Anyway I walked into my front room this morning and my second picture has just fallen off the wall, again breaking the frame! Now I need to buy 2 more frames and drill my walls! I have 4 children and I'm extremely lucky none where near the pictures when they decided to fall!

A New Use for Picture Hanging Strips
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These strips are wonderful for hanging quilts. I use several of the strips on the back of the quilt, depending on how big it is. I don't remove the strip over the glue. Instead, I whip stitch by hand the strip to the quilt since I'm not sure how the glue would hold on fabric or if it would cause damage to the quilt. For the other side of the strip, I mount it to the wall in the usual fashion, i.e., using the glue strip. When I snap the strips on the quilt to the strips on the wall, I can make minor adjustments to make it hang level. The quilt hangs absolutely flat against the wall and looks great.
Yes, I recommend this product.

No paint damage!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I have used the Command picture strips for years now honestly. Nails are something of the past because of these. When we were in the military we moved often so we knew paint damage was something that we couldn't have happen so we use the strips. they are so easy to you use and they hold a ton of weight. We used the strips for our mirror coat rack. We had our winter coats on it which was a lot of weight and the strips held it. Command Strips are a great product and work great especially if your worried about damage to the picture its self or the wall. They pull right off without damage! Every single one of our pictures in our house is hung on the wall by Command Strips!

Great product for dorms, apartments, or klutzes!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these because every time I attempted to hang a picture, my wall usually looked as if they had been through a war! (Due to my “misses” and attempts to line frames up). I have these in every size available. When my kids got the rules for hanging items in dorms (and later apartments), Command is the perfect solution. These can be repositioned and removed without damaging any walls! (Or your security deposit). This is my go to product for projects around my home, as well as gifts for young adults starting out on their own. When kids were little, any toy that I was gifting had the batteries. Now, with any frames, artwork, posters, etc I also include the appropriate Command product!
Yes, I recommend this product.

Fan Cave Favorite!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sweepstakes Entry or not, I highly recommend these strips for any sports room or fan cave. This picture is from my first fan cave where I rented. The pictures all stayed in place for a few years until I moved. When I did, and took them off the wall properly, not one mark was left behind. I have done another fan cave without issues. A tip, make sure you are using enough of the strips. The heavier the picture, more strips you'll need. Also make sure you use them in the right direction, see images on back of package. (Very large paintings pictured were hung with nails because of their size and weight.)
Yes, I recommend this product.

We just started using these strips because we just painted our walls and didn't want to put a bunch of holes in them to hang all of our pictures. They hold really well, and we love the convenience of moving the pictures if they aren't level without damaging the wall further, however, the only downside we have found is that if you are not using them with a very wide frame then the strips are visible from the side.We can see them behind the pictures as we walk down our stairs. Our frames were at least 1 1/2" wide so it is not like we are using narrow frames. Also it is very hard to find smaller sizes

Command Strips
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the Command Strips and Hooks. I use them everywhere in my home from hanging artwork, photo frams, photo boards, cork pin boards, coat hooks, backpack hooks, brooms, thick posters, hanging blowdryers out of the way. When I'm ready to move the location of something, I just pull the tab, it pops off the wall without leaving a mark. I don't have to have hammer, nails, spackle, or any of that stuff you can never put your fingers on or need someone to help with. Within minutes you can mount or reposition something with no worries. I pick up a pack of strips each time I go to the store.

Misleading
I bought this product under the assumption that each strip would hold 16 pounds as the front of the box states. However, when I attempted to read the extremely fine print on the back to verify the weight amount, I was unable to even read the directions, even with my glasses. I had to go to this website to locate the information and I'm still very confused where the 16 pounds comes in. now I have multiple boxes of strips of 3M command boxes that I don't know what to do with. I like the other Command strips, but I don't plan on using strips all the way around the frame to hang a 16 pound picture.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are sorry to hear of the difficulty. Our Command Large Picture Hanging strips can support frames that are up to 24"x36" in size, and up to 16 lbs in weight. Each set of adhesives can support 4 lbs. So when all 4 sets from the package are used on the frame, they can support 16 lbs. 16lb is the maximum, using more than 4 sets of adhesives, will not provide more weight support. we recently bought a new home asnd i didn't wasnd to start our with holes in the walls so i bought your strips for picture hanging. to my dismay i hung a display case with collector spoons with your strips. to make sure it held i actually put 3 strips on it even though it said one would be sufficient. well it held for a couple of weeks not suddenly it fell off the wall, pulling away paint and plaster, fell hitting a window sill and broke the corner off it, the case came apart and spoons were everywhere. I will never trust your product again. I have to repair my wall, window sill and case.
